High idle

Quadzilla anything below your set "Warm up" temp will lock the tuner to level 0. Then waits the delay and then starts 1,200 High idle. 

Any High idle switches in production?

So was the flash not done correctly, or any ideas why my truck does not want to idle up/3 cyl idle. I've replace the inlet air sensor, and I can guaranty the coolant is below 0 f.

I’m not too sure why but even when my block heater is plugged in all night my 6 cyl high idle still activates. Does this happen to you guys?

If the outside air temp is less than 32* F and your coolant temp is less than 170* it should activate.  There's no way a block heater will get your coolant to 170*.

IAT temp has to be below 32°F with the grid heaters running. So it's got to be colder than 32°F to actually trigger 6CYL high idle.

Even though the block heat might make 90 to 100*F temp b ut blowing outside air can upll that down. Then when you start the activation of the high idle 6 CYL just needs.

• Coolant below 140*F
• IAT below +32*F with grid heater running. 

3 CYL...

• Coolant below 140*F
• IAT below +15*F with grid heaters running.

My problem is the up idle has never worked since I've owned the truck, had it reflashed 10 years ago, and still nothing. Kinda sucks up here in NW Minnesota when it idles alot when it's -20 to -30.

There is no controls for high idle. It must meet the sensors requirements. The is no steering wheel control like 3rd gens. Hence why the high switch was made to give control over it.

Understood, what I am saying is at 0* F and below, this truck has never idled up or gone to 3cyl idle even after it was flashed. Hell, I didn't even know it is supposed to do that until I started following this form years ago.

They must not have flashed it the right way, some call it high idle some call it winter idle, I heard other names for it that I can't remember.

 Yeah, doesn't sound like it was flashed correctly to trigger the high idle.

ONLY if the high idle software is enabled. Once enabled it will be rather random hit miss. Be8ng based on IAT to start. Then if you had my switch then you can command what you want.
