Damn she is angry. I would be too in 30 ...... think we hit 87 today .... around 92 with the shade factor :):):)

I see... I don't think I'm going with a permenant drive pressure gauge. Temporary for tuning will be all I need.

After about 25*F mine won't even start without grid heaters.

Mine started at +15 last year... VERY angry. Wouldn't do that on the new motor though.

I tried to start it at -15 last year and it didn't even try! Flipped the switch and started without a hickup.

I once had a high mileage 6L Ford from work at -35... it was a 10 min process to get it running with the starter and then took 20 min of white smoke at idle to run normally.

You couldn't see the apartment building I was living at for the white smoke.

We don't talk about 6.blows in these parts

I think I've finally got my twins in a good spot, at least EGT wise they are. After pulling over like 10 times and adjusting the boost elbow I've got it where a WOT run from 40-95+ going up hill has peak EGTs of 950*. (Smarty only) Peak boost is 42psi (I discovered if I smack my pos gauge it'll settle into the correct pressure) Now I just need to get a drive pressure gauge hooked up and see what's happening on the other side of things.

I talked with Jacob at diesel auto power and have a set of injectors lined up as well. Big shout out to him for supporting this forum and helping out the members here!!

Not sure it matters how they are shutoff or removed, my point is that per Cummins they aren't needed above 10°F but looking at the posts in here I am guessing that's a HPCR thing and probably has a lot to do with the pilot injection. They are operational below 66°F but not out of actual need.

Or it could be the injectors people are using...I've started dozens of 12 & 24 valve CAPS engines over the years in construction and Ag equipment with no grid heaters and they will start just fine down into the low teens/ upper single digits. They will start down below that but will run pretty rough the first several seconds. We try to plug them in anyway when it gets that cold.

On my truck I don't even wait for the grid heaters until the temps drop down below 15 or so degrees.
