Miles on my Cooper Discoverer AT3's in the stock size LT 265/70 17E now. Probably got 5/16's of tread left on average. They've been really good tires for me. Just saying, not arguing.

  2. A buddy of mine has an 04 3500 6spd, 4wd, srw, 248k milesHe has a bhaf, 3pc exh. mani, 4" turbo back exhaust, and a predator programmer.the past few days, he's noticed a noise under boost. I haven't heard it, but he likened it to a coach's whistle..He initially thought his turbo (351cw) was failing, but I said no, as it's fine and makes tons of boost.I think it's a leak or something somewhere. While inspecting his truck last night, I noticed that the vband connection from turbo to downpipe is leaking. It's tight, so I think maybe a flange lip is trashed or something..could that sound be from there? He's also starting to push oil a little. Taking the trim off of the val…

Any guys over here running smarty UDC tuning that you have programmed yourself? I've downloaded the software, and am looking into helping my brother write programs for his 05. The software seems simple and straight forward. He is just looking to decrease low end smoke and increase fuel mileage. After hours of searching the forums this looks like the way to go!

Ok so my sons early 04 is getting 20 mpg and he drives it like he stole it. He is running a bully dog. My 05 auto is getting 15 bearly, I average more like 13.75. Is it in the cam, injectors or what? Why cant this 05 get better fuel mileage? I am thinking of getting a Smarty Jr. or a jet eng. that way I can just fly there and back.

  7. I have an 05 with the "chip key", I also have a audiovox 670 2 way alarm/remote start. On a couple occasions the truck wouldn't start with the key but would by remote start. The truck would crank but the security light on the dash flashes. I assume it's a problem with my key....does that sound right? Only thing is the remote start is only supposed to bypass the security key during remote starts, once the key is inserted, turned to run and brake is depressed it cancels the remote start and returns the security to normal. The truck always stays running Anyways, I only have one key and the price Dodge wants for a new key is fuggin ridiculous. I found blank chip keys online f…

  8. I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge from another project that I want to use on the 05. I know the port on top of the oil filter housing will work but I'm using a needle valve. It wont fit because there's a hose right next to it. Is there any other port I can use? Thanks,Eugene

I am still hunting around for ways to increase mpgs. I have unloaded my camper for the season and have my Leer canopy back on the truck. So I have decided to conduct another experiment by installing vortex generators on the canopy to see if I can gain any benefit.I use vortex generators on my plane to give me a lower stall speed and still maintain control of the airplane and keep it flying at lower speeds. The vortex generators create a turbulent air stream aft of the generators and that keeps the air attached to the wing at higher angles of attack (steeper pitch of the wing). The theory is that vortex generators on a truck canopy will create spiraling turbulent air that wil…

Not sure where to put this. I found this over on CF. Pods mount on dash right above OEM cluster, in front of the operator. These pods seem to be well recieved. Fit 06 & up. A few have reportedly been cut for earlier Dodges but I've not seen any pictures in this whole thread http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/6-7l-non-powertrain/110095-custom-gauge-cluster-58.html He's getting 200 for them. I am not affilated with the sale in any way except to wish they fit my truck!

I have fixed my boost leak, I think, but I am still experiencing a power problem. Truck is a STOCK 2003 S.O CR motor 250hp/47RE auto except for Airdog100 and homegrown CAI and a 5" exhaust. Truck has no get up and go especially at interstate speeds. When I press the accelerator at highway speeds it seems very slow to react, the truck will go faster but it is slow in getting there. I have checked my rail pressures last night while cruising at 65mph and they hovered right around 90mpa ( 13,000 psi if my math is correct). The truck idles at about 35-37mpa (5,000-5,350 psi) and at WOT it will hit 150mpa (21,750 psi). The outside air temp was 55° and my IAT temp was 70°…

  12. This thread will be about tuning a late CR with early CR pistons and BBi Stage 1's. Truck: 2005 5.9L QCLB 3500 SRW NV5600 4x4 3.73's Pertinent Mods: BBi Stage 1 for MY03, QSB480 pistons, Hamilton 178/208 cam, Garrett GT3782R, rest in sig. Tuning: Smarty S-06 Revo UDC. Truck Use: In the summer it tows the camper around for plenty of family trips (17-19k GCW), and in the fall/winter it's used for hunting (lots of slow speed driving) and playing in the snow. It's not my DD. It sees a LOT of dirt/gravel, towing and not towing, as well as pulling steep grades loaded and unloaded. The truck weighs about 8,500 loaded for winter. My previous dyno/tune net me 415/850 correc…

  13. Started by War Eagle,

I wanted more light under the hood when I am working there or when I was just checking oil or other fluid levels etc. I decided to try installing some LED lights to see if this would improve the situation. Since this was to be an experiment to see if it could improve things and if I would like it I didn't want to spend a lot of money to start with. I checked around for various light options and looked at how they could be mounted. I liked the idea of using a small multibulb bar setup because I could tuck it in an area that wouldn't come in contact with the body or engine when I closed the hood. My thinking was that if I installed 2 of these lights I could focus…

  15. I recently put in a set of new Bosch injectors with 50hp DDP nozzles on my gen 3 truck.Monday I drove to Vancouver Washington and set the cruise on 65mph. A total of 426 miles one way.The Smarty programmer was set to completely stock. My plan was to drive one way in stock format and then do the return trip with the smarty 30hp + tune.So Monday I set off on the trip and everything was going fine until I got to the Columbia River gourge. Got into a head wind until I hit Hood River. I have no idea what the wind speed was but it was enough to make my truck work harder to keep the cruise speed up. That messed up my plans for a nice fair weather test.Hand calculated the f…

  16. I have a 2007 2500 5.9L that currently will not start. If anyone has time to provide some input that would be great! I have done a lot a reading and basic troubleshooting over the past couple of days, and here's what I know: . [*]Trucked cranked few weeks ago and sputtered for about 3-5 seconds right after cranking. This cleared up on its own after that 3-5 second period, and I did not have any issues while driving it that day or the next. [*]When I got back to the house, I parked the truck in my yard facing un an incline of maybe 6-8 degrees with ~ 1/4 tank fuel. [*]It sat parked there for about two weeks before I cranked it again. [*]After those two …

Hey fellas. I currently have an 02 but have a chance to upgrade to an 08 with about 30 K on it . I haven't really payed to much attention to the newer Dodges so I'm going to ask here...what's the Pros, what's the Cons. Is this model year something I want to get into or not? Would like to know about engine, driveline...evrything anyone want to give an opinion on. Do these have this after burner exhaust thing on them I hear people talking about, is it something that can be removed easily

I installed a new air filter when I bought the truck about 3 months ago and noticed the filter minder was pulled down some so I released it and found it pulled down again. This was a federated air filter with the extra media for heavy dust, anyway I changed to a Wix filter and so far it has not pulled down. Is this normal for it to pull down when it's clean? I know I may have got on it a little and was just wondering what is going on there.

Itryed to install Smarty on my truck the other day and error code came up and would not let me program. So to check out smarty we installed on my buddy's truck and it took no problem. I am starting to think there might be a program already on ECM that might explain the smoke when I crank down on it. What reader do I need to identify whats on ecm?
