I joined a forum for the Ram 1500 diesels. There's talk there of there still being DPF's on these trucks that regen occasionally as well as the SCR system. My understanding has been that it's either a DPF system or an SCR system, not a combination. Can someone clue me in?

so searching i've found several GM posi or G80 lockers for the GM 11.5 rear axle. well i think my 04 has this same axle. would this locker work?? i've not been able to find any advertisement tell me that it'll work in GM or Ram applications. anyone here know? right now i have an open in the front and rear. so even in 4x4 i have 2 wd. i'd like at least 3. i hate having to use 4wd on the slightest of slippery roads.

I've been looking online at 3rd gen trucks for a friend and I've noticed that some trucks have a floor shifter for the transfer case and other don't have one, but the ads say that they are 4x4. So I was just wondering what thats all about? Did they have a electronic shift option or something? all the 4x4 ones I've been in personaly have the regular floor shift for the transfer case.

Im bout due for an oil change. i usually run VPB 5/40. but the only place in town that has it is 28.?? a gallon. the local tractor supply has rotella T6 5/40 for 19.?? gallon. but that are all sold out. so with my new LF9028 extended service oil filter. i'm thinking amsoil at a total of 130$ something or VPB for about 96$ right now i run about 7500-8K miles on my oil. it still looks good not to black. i'll do a sample and send to blackstone at time of change. but i need to buy oil... what to buy? i have at my disposal Travelers, super tech, valvoline, rotella, mystic. i know clean oil is good. but i don't want to be throwing hard earned cash away if a better oil …

I know there are plenty of threads on this subject, but I am just wondering what everyones opinion is on the latest, and greatest. My 03 has the APPS mounted under the intake horn, and the stock pump is attached to the filter canister. I want to retain the stock filter canister because of the fuel heater, and the WIF sensor. I have been leaning towards a FASS titanium with the all in one 2-3 micron filter plus the water seperator prefilter. If there is a better stand alone pump and filter setup that can be mounted under the cab I would like to consider it.

I adjusted the bands and installed the governor solenoid and pressure sensor I ordered from Cascade and I wished I would have done it sooner. It really did the trick, the shifts are a little longer and the shift is a lot sharper shift, well worth the 135.00 bucks.

For all you guys that run tuners, I`m just curious what, if any MPG gains could be expected by adding a tuner to a completely stock truck? For now, I rarely tow anything worth mentioning with my 03.. At 160K I feel like I need to make some transmission upgrades before I try to load it up. I`m just wondering if the MPG gains alone would be worth the investment?

So i noticed something kinda odd today. when i removed my smarty programming from my truck the boost reading on my scangauge at idle goes to like -2.3. then i reprogrammed the smarty and it went to 0 at idle. thinking i was seeing things i redid the process. uninstalled it yet again and the boost reading went back to -2.3 or there abouts at idle. so what is the smarty doing? or do i have a sensor going bad.?

Curious if what Dodge recommends and what Cummins recommended is the same! Bosch says 3 micron for the cp3 pump in my jeep.. Some swear that mopar installed 10 microns at the factory.

I figured I would post this for future reference since there is some doubt on this seal. If you ever have the rear output seal (rear driveshaft) go bad, the skf23000 works perfect. Napa is suppose to be able to have it but my local napa was worthless. I ended up buying one off amazon with overnight shipping for $20. Compared to the 50-60 mopar seal. You will need a 3-1/2" or 4" piece of pipe to install it. But it goes right in.
