I have a new to me 2008 4dr 4X4 w/6sp auto, that got good fuel economy in warm weather. In cold weather it stays in what I perceive to be 4th for 3 to 4 miles before it will shift or torque converter lockup. The fuel mileage goes way down during this period. My overall average is down 2+ MPG. Is this the nature of the beast or is there something to be done to make it shift /lockup faster?

Ok people, there have been many discussions pertaining to oil filters ... their preferences and performance. Even thought people tend to narrow their preferences over the years, sooner or later companies always come up with something new. I understand these have been on the market for a while. But I have yet to read (or know of) anyone using these. Microgreenfilter's http://www.microgreenfilter.com/ Anyone ?

I joined a forum for the Ram 1500 diesels. There's talk there of there still being DPF's on these trucks that regen occasionally as well as the SCR system. My understanding has been that it's either a DPF system or an SCR system, not a combination. Can someone clue me in?

Curious if what Dodge recommends and what Cummins recommended is the same! Bosch says 3 micron for the cp3 pump in my jeep.. Some swear that mopar installed 10 microns at the factory.

Driving me nuts trying to find approximate value of this truck. I have a very slow internet provider. SOOO, I am asking you guys to make a guess. It was used as commuter truck by a farmer. 2009 4 door loaded with 250000 miles, auto. He has it serviced every 3000 at a dealer. It is a desert truck with 0 rust. He uses other field trucks on the farm and it is parked in the shade. and garaged at home. Clean but needs a front seat rebuild. Give your best guess. Thanks.

2006 5.9 Cummins Auto 45,000 miles. All original. Been running fine. Went to start it up one morning and it fired right up and then the horn started blowing, I immediately turned it off as i thought i hit the panic button. Try again and nothing, won't turn over or even click the starter. All lights are working, radio etc. Batteries are showing 12.5 volts. Read something about key fob batteries, changed them, nothing changed. Pulled cables off battery terminals (4) and cleaned terminals and hoped while disconnected it would reset security feature. Replaced and then it would crank but not start. Check engine light flashing quickly and fuel pump in the tank ran constantly. …

Overhead display shows 99.9 miles per gallon every time I start the truck. While driving it settles in around 15 to 20 Mpg. When I accelerate fuel mileage goes up to as much as 22 Mpg, when I am going downhill at 0% throttle mileage decreases to 4-6 MPG.. again increase mileage under hard acceleration decreased mileage when decelerating or going downhill.

So I got my truck back together after 1/2 a yr.. But I get this U0151 (Lost Communication with Restraints Control (RCM) Module) I tried MODIS, and AlfaOBD and cannot connect to it. Tried following some troubleshooting tips on obd-codes.com, to no avail.. I am mechanically and 12V electrically inclined, but the troubleshooting tips made not much sense.. Anyone here seen this issue/fixed this issue, or have any guidance? The Airbag light is on, and I cannot get the truck state-safety inspected until it's fixed.. Thank you. Well, the original muffler on my "03" gave up this morning. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good replacement? I really don`t want it to be loud, as I have gotten older I prefer to hear the Cummins purr rather than the exhaust roar.

07 5.9 auto. I was told by Dodge that when parked at idle I should be able to reset my avg mpg and it will read zero. My 05 does exactly that but my 07 will flash back to whatever the old avg was and then start recalculating. Any experience with this issue is welcome.

My dad's 2005 is having phantom issues with the ABS light. Can anyone tell me before I drive to his place whether or not an OBDLinkMX+ can be of much use diagnosing the ABS system in that era of truck? I've dug around and around on the OBDLink forum (scantool.net?) and found nothing of use.

I took some pics as I did mine last week, and thought I'd try making a write up on it. Basic tools etc. you'll need are , approx. 8qts. of ATF+4/filter,Governor press. solenoid and transducer,1/4' drive torque wrench, 1/4" & 3/8" socket sets, basic metric wrench set, a pick or small screwdriver, a drill with a 1/2" bit for the drain plug kit, big catch pan:thumbup2:, and a paint pen or sharpie, plus whatever I forgot:ashamed: 1) Drop pan to drain the fluid, the easiest way is to go around and loosen them all just a turn, then work from one side loosen the bolts in steps. The idea is to get the pan to drop on only one side to minimize spilling and dump the f…

I would love to get some feedback on this if possible. Thanks to ME78569, I am sitting hear at my truck and have done everything in the instructions for the calibration with only one hang up. I couldn't get the arduino to open when I double click the turboreset.ino. I was just wondering what I need to do to get that ino file to work. Is the ino file that same text that he has shown below the canbus library .zip? Do I need to change any values on the code itself or just copy, paste, and upload. All that happens right now is that when I connect power to turbo I hear it actuate immediately and I don't get any slow movement after 5 seconds. Just a quick actuation and t…

Yup the 2006 Dodge has got a good front end clunk. When turning tight in parking lots and sharp corners. I want to pick you guys minds to get heads up on 3rd gen front end suspension and common issues. I'll admit the truck has a 2 inch leveling kit. Really like to pull that out as well being it squats pretty bad with a trailer hitched up.

Driving to work the other day and the CEL came on. Turned out to be P1740 which means the computer didn't see the expected drop in rpm when the TC locked up. I was in third gear under light throttle and everything felt normal at the time. I was unloaded as well. I just turned over 69,000 miles. I've never had a hint of trouble from this tranny except for the 2-3 shuttle, so I cleared the code and it hasn't come back. That was 48 hours ago with two days of normal daily driving since then. I'm not the original owner. Tranny mods I can see are a Mag-Hytec double deep pan and a blue torque converter of unknown brand or specs. The fluid is about 10,000 miles old and looks and …
