While driving home from my farm this evening, I had to accelerate going over an overpass when my truck suddenly stalled. I put it in neutral while coasting down the other side, and cranked it several times before it finally restarted. I babied it on home (about 5 miles) and it seemed to have no further issues. My question is this symtoms of a lift pump going out? or do they normally fail completely all at once? This is my 03 CR with the original pump mounted to the filter canister, and there was no CEL. Anybody experience this before?

OK I installed the new Gov/solenoid I bought from DTT today and new the trans won't sift out of second gear unless you let off the throttle completely and then if you give it to much throttle it wants to go back down to second even if the RPM is to high for it!!!! Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Don --- Update to the previous post... Should add that I install a new sensor at the same time, this was a OEM part from the dealer. --- Update to the previous post... Mike can you move this to the power train section please. --- Update to the previous post... OK found out what was wrong, the new governor solenoid is used in tw…

JFYI guys..............Cooper Tire has finally gotten the LT255/80 R17E tire size out. It's essentially a 33" tire that's not crazy wide. They have it available in the Discoverer ST MAXX style. Gonna really think about these when I need tires next.

Working on the rear disc brakes today, time to replace pads, and I need to get the rotors off to be resurfaced. I have loosened the park brake cable disconnected the cable at the rear axle, and I can`t get the rotor to budge! I have tried everything short of getting a bigger hammer and the rotor will not release from the axle flange??? Am I missing something here, or do I need a bigger hammer? I don`t want to destroy the brake rotor.

Back in 2012 Fleetguard put out a press release on some spin-on NanoNet filters, which is the same 3um media used on the 2010+ OEM filters. From what I can tell it is one of the best filters available... Anyhow after 3 years of calling my local Cummins to get the filters they finally got them in stock. The FF5814 is the replacement for the Donaldson P551313 or Cat 1R-0750 that many of us use. 3um at 98.7% 99.6 GPH 74.82gr dirt holding capacity. One brochure had 4um at a Beta 200, which is 99.5%. The ISO standard used is multipass vs the older single-pass but it appears that OEM's are starting to ask for the multi-pass ratings and not single-pass anymore. I boug…

Id like to put an exhaust brake on my 04 but it has an automatic transmission. I know on the 06s that they can come factory to accept a jacobs brake because the ecm keeps line pressure higher or something like that. So heres my question I have already wired up a tc lock up switch when I get an aftermarket tc and a valve body is this enough to handle an exhaust brake? Or should I just invest in say like a bd or ats transmission that says that it will accept an exhaust brake

To replace or not to replace. right now i have the money to replace my injectors in my 08, there are a few sign of them going bad.. i think. every now and then i have a long crank before it fires off. totally random. they have 155K on them. but are bloody expensive. So, should i bite the bullet and get them? i've never installed them. i've read horror story after horror story of botched installs. or i'd have a local shop install them. this is kinda a preventative maintenance thing. So thoughts.

Hello everyone,, SUMMARY Drive: 4WD chain-driven selectable / electronic operation 4WD Engine: 5.9L, 24V common rail Cummins turbo diesel / 6.7L, 24V CR CTD Suspension: a nearly lost cause (more to come) Features: a LOT of power Walker Texas Ranger. Bill Harding. Yours truly. Anyone who’s anyone has owned a Dodge Ram at some point. The 3rd iteration of the Ram 2500 saw notable changes from its predecessor. Are these filters just the plastic screen or are they a paper type? Reason I ask is I am doing the first trans oil change and always thought it a waste of time changing the plastic filter (screen) type.

Hey guys... My truck has been giving me a hard time starting. It started happening last year and only did it when I was parked nose uphill. I remember reading something about this one time a few years back... but never heard what the cause was. This year.. a few months ago.. it's been starting hard on level ground. I have to hold the key on for 10-15 secs til it turns over. This only happens the first start of the day and only if I let it sit for more than 24 hours. Where do I start? No pun intended.... Thanks

My truck is a 06 2500 (5.9l with 48RE) with 260k on the body and transmission. New, rebuilt, long block was put in under 1k miles ago. The codes that it threw first, 3 hours into the drive, were P1749 and P1740. Transmission Throttle Valve Position Sensor circuit low and TCC solenoid failure. The truck continued on the interstate without any major shifting or cruising issues so I decided to let it ride out the other 5 1/2 hours home. This morning I checked the codes again and now I'm also getting the P1222, bad injectors, P2509 and P0483, bad fan clutch assembly, and P0868, transmission pressure line low. I've read that seve…

I need a bit of help, possibly for the 3rd Gen TIPM, which on fuse 26 is my fuse for the brake lights. The fuse is good. Now with a test light I have zero power. If there is no power at the fuse then there must be a burnt tracer in the TIPM I'm figuring.

I just had a Jake brake installed on my truck today. So far I am impressed with how it works. I will give it the true test this weekend when I head out camping with my fiver. Does anybody know off hand how the brake effects fuel economy? I think I saw in one of the other forums that MoparMan has one.

I am on my second door lock on the driver side. Both times, same thing. Interior lights keep coming on and doors unlock when everything is closed. it happens randomly for no reason. System thinks the door is ajar. Since I'm on the second one, what are the odds? Anyone have this issue or know the fix? Replacement door lock was oem. Are the contacts bad?

@Taz showed up to my house on Thursday for his gages and a-pillar setup. Also had a few other things to fix like his exhaust brake not working and also got a windshield banner. So here is the gauge setup. ISSPro EV2's chrome rims, blue on white background. Now the fastener for A-pillar is a chrome bolt and washer looks very stylish and proper. Much nice that standard old hardware bolt. Then he wanted a nice windshield banner too so I got that stuck to the glass...
