Hey guys, finally got enough funds to install a Boost, Pyro, and the much needed Fuel Pressure Guages! I looked in to having them installed but it's going to run me around $300.00! So I thought I'd save my self some $ and try to find a step by step installion for them. Does anybody know where I can get my instructions preferably with pics? Thanks to all who chime in!!!!

Tried to start truck last week,(no codes) not getting enough fuel pressure through to some lines, I talked to local Bosch shop, told me pump is probably gummed up from setting for 8 yrs, I thought I drained most of the fuel out, but I'm sure some residual fuel remained. Anyway thinking of a way to un-gum it, thought of pulling pump and running brakecleen (suggestion from Bosch shop) through it while hand turning the pump. Welcome any suggestions, I already know if I can't get this cleaned I'll have to fork out the 1K for a reman pump.

So I hauled a small trailer and some lawnmowers today and after I got everything unloaded I went to unhook the trailer well when I shut off the truck I can hear gurgling from the fuel tank. No pressure was relieved when I unscrewed the fuel cap but I can hear the fuel moving when it gurgles. Then it did it again when I got back home and parked it. Normal?

Vp44 guys. Im doing alot of work on my truck, cutting weight etc...my plan is to completely gut the cab, pull everything out and leave just the column, seats, shifter, and guages...gonna use my tablet/quadzilla for tach and speedo. My question is, Is there anything in the cab that is a "must have" to complete circuits or anything that if removed would cause the truck not to run? Besides the obvious **** like ignition wires. Id also be open to wiring a push button start. Any info would be much appreciated.

Does anyone out there have any information at all regarding H-Pumps on a 24v? Fit, cc, build specs etc. There was a guy over on CF who got a hold of one a while back but the project never went anywhere. I really haven't seen or heard much about them so just curious if anyone has any information on them.

it was 'CCd' on the overhead display for awhile. I toggled through the different displays, and finally just turned it off. When I restarted the truck awhile later, all seemed ok.on another matter, truck refused to start 5 days ago, plugged in overnight, and battery charger to boot. I gave up quickly just because I had 3 tractors 'dead' from crap fuel that needed attention first! This morning It got up to 25*, so I tried it! It stumbled to life and within 3 seconds it suddenly was running on all 6 cylinders. Perfectly. Other than 30-40* warmer than last Friday, I didn't do anything different: same fuel…

Went to adjust my kick down cable and add I was removing it from the housing I forgot to reinstall the clip. So as I was pulling the cable out the plastic cover that holds the cable popped out. Well I got it back together but now it needs adjusted because when I come to almost a stop my trans doesn't shift into first unless I give it some fuel. My concern is which way I need to move the cable. Do I move it back towards the firewall or keep pulling it forward? What started this is the fact that sometimes under wot it wouldn't shift it would max Rev and then defuel and sometimes while passing it would downshift and not upshift. Now while driving normal or …

My son called me last night, he was on his way home in our '00 Ram ctd. The little outline of the engine in the dash had been lit for the past couple of days. Is this the MIL?anyway, he said the truck started bucking and sputtering, and the tach was going wild. He shut it off, and he knew about the key method to retrieve a code. He called me with the P1693 code, but he didn't know to wait for the last half of the report.Long story short, He got home, the truck started fine and ran home perfect. the MIL light went out too.I had a minute to check this afternoon, and ran the code just like Michael explained in his video: cycle 3 tim…

So I like I said before, I made a good list up of some things I need to get done on the truck. I got alot to get done soon and I need to make sure she will be up for the task. I'm about 3/4's the way done and then it finally dawns on me that I should post up some pics. I started off re-doing my rear drum brakes. Took the drums off and got new drums, shoes and hardware. Had to wait 3 days for the drums to come in. Break best is the brand name. Comes from China. I was not pleased about seeing that damned sticker! :banghead: I sure hope they last. I will definitely be keeping my receipts! So I got the drums all buttoned up and got the tires rotated. Greased th…

As a new member just wanted to say thanks for all the help. I really can’t contribute much. Why? Well because I don’t know much. Even though I’ve had my 2001 since 2005 I have only done the simple maint stuff like change oil and filters. But that has changed after paying thru the nose for a bad install of fuel system. For last 3 years we’ve wintered in Yuma to get out of the wet of the northwest. The RV park that we stay at word travels fast. When our fuel system fell apart, the next day this guy I’ve talked to many times before walks up and asks what the problem was. At the time all I knew was truck wasn’t running and the garage was supposed to be calling…

Hey Everybody- Just checkin' back in, I haven't been posting but have been following from time to time, and wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I have learned so much from others on this site that has helped me out. A bit of an update on my "new" 2002 6 speed that I got in late July in SLC, and the Carter bit it on the way home. Good news is the VP didn't seem to suffer. Checked in with y'all, and got some good advice/ pointers. Got back home finally mid-Oct, with a pile of parts boxes waiting for me, and dug into it. Chose to tilt the bed instead of dropping the tank, and my little JD tractor made a great bed lift device. Had to re…

My truck starts hard after a couple days of sitting, like I ran out of fuel. I read somewhere about a loose fitting or something that can cause this but can't find the thread now. Is it possible the fass is bleeding off pressure? I don't see any leaks or weeping anywhere.

I know from looking over the net, and exploring the site this could be many things, but I really need help with this. My 2001 Dodge 2500 starts perfectly when cold. The truck is hard to start AFTER it is brought up to normal operating temperature and attempt to restart after shutdown. It cranks for a bit, finally turns over, and then blows a bit of black smoke and runs perfectly. It does have the relay installed that shuts off power to the VP44 while cranking (this fixed the hard starting I experienced before). I have replaced this relay to make sure that this is not the reason for the problem now. I replaced the lift pump two years ago. It is a FASS DDRP2. I have a dash m…

Hey guys... My truck has been giving me a hard time starting. It started happening last year and only did it when I was parked nose uphill. I remember reading something about this one time a few years back... but never heard what the cause was. This year.. a few months ago.. it's been starting hard on level ground. I have to hold the key on for 10-15 secs til it fires up. Almost like leaving it unplugged on cold days of winter. This only happens the first start of the day and only if I let it sit for more than 24 hours. Where do I start? No pun intended.... Thanks

Hi all I'm new to the forum and this is my first cummins truck. 1999 3500 It's completely stock aside from the vp44 and my newly installed raptor FRRP 100gph lift pump. The vp44 isn't a hotrod as far as I know I believe it's a stock replacement, previous owner had it done. The truck runs fine at any speed, matter of fact it has more pulling power and better throttle response so I'm reluctant to say my VP is bad? My issue is it is very hard to start after installing my raptor. The morning previous to install, it started perfectly fine, fired extremely fast, got home from work did the install and it's been hard to start ever since. I have to give it some throttle otherwise…
