Hey guys looking for some answers on my 99 24 valve 3500 auto. It has bhaf/industrial injection vp44/and fass 150 with big hose lines and in tank sump all installed at same time about two years ago. Fuel pressure gauge is installed about a foot from ip with shrader valve cracked idk if it’s to close and giving an erratic reading but it will idle steady at about 14 then jump up to 18 while driving then all the way down to 10 then back up so basically it fluctuates up and down while driving between 18-10. Another thing that’s going on. sometimes it has a long start when hot sometimes not. And every day when cruising above 65 it will stop accelerating and only give me 30% th…

Folks - I began having issues a few weeks ago and I've done a lot of research on the VP symptoms/diagnosis option to rule the VP in/out as my problem. My mechanic will run the codes with scanner tomorrow when it goes in and replace vp if he agrees, but I'd like to get other opinions as well.Truck has a Fass fuel pump and pressure guage reads 19-21 at idle and no lower than 14 at WOT. Started a week after I bought it. On cold start and go situations, it would not get out of its own way. It would clear up after a few miles and rip like normal. It was recommended that I warm it up for 5-10 minutes before driving when cold out. Wont pretend to know why it was suggested, b…

Stage 2 Colt should be here tomorrow. Got all the needed replacements for my selection of leaking seals from Regional International night before last. I may end up with a haul Saturday instead of getting it done when I first planned to but either way I'm excited!I was really tempted to do RV 275s at the same time with that cheap set for sale here, but I decided to see how much difference the cam alone is going to make first. Right now the '02 isb205 has a b215 cam in it along with the p7100. details linked in my sig.

I clamped the hoses but it still was a diesel bath. Do they make some shut off valves to put in line with the big line hoses??Luke

New here, but not new to dodges. Some of you will probably know me from CF. My grandpas truck, 2001 Cummins 47RE and completely stock, spent all day working on it, various things, but I did some diagnostics and thats why I am here. Ill start with the gear hunting issue first. I tested AC noise. has about 0.03V, which is 'acceptable' apparently. Okay. Had no real way to log the truck while driving, I dont have a snap on scanner or similar to watch APPS and other parameters that might effect TCC operation. This diagnosis was kind of a dead end. Mostly I wanted to identify AC noise and go from there, which I did. Issue seems to become m…

Your going to think I am crazy, but what would make your fuel pressure go up when you hit your brakes. Pressure runs steady 17psi hit the brakes and it goes up to 18.50 almost 19.:shrug:It has done this since I replaced my airdog 100 with the 150.

So, the insurance company totalled my truck although the visual damege doesn't justify it. I currently plan to buy it back and fix it. I'm looking for an engine. The block (53) is cracked and I think this is a good time to replace it. So, I'm looking for suggestions and sources for a used or rebuilt motor. Or should I go with a new short block? I don't know how much they're going to offer me yet but want to explore my options before then. Thanks

My 2000 Ram gave codes P0606, P0121, & P0123 when temperature below about 20 DegF about three weeks ago and I knew P0606 was the death code for ECM. I had "dead pedal" after some surging but I could idle it fo 15 minutes and as the block warmed up it worked.I was somewhat surprised there is not a dealer ECM available for this truck in all of Canada and they are about $2,100 list for a REMAN that originates from Cummins. My only recourse was to buy a wrecker ECM but the Dodge expert mechanic assigned to software warned me the ECM VIN has to match the other modules or this leads to future problems with replacing other modules. He said he could not change VIN hims…

I've just learned that valve lash that is done wrong or in a hurry and I didn't verify my measurements can have impacts on performance, idling, and lope. Just a few days ago I figured I would just verify the lash and cold engine I was having issues getting feeler gauge to pass on a few cylinders. I ran the head again and verified all my measurements after torquing the lock nuts. Now after a few days my lope at idle is gone. Performance has improved slightly and even the MPG is up slightly. So I've got to admit this was my bad but I wanted to share my mistake to hopefully help other spot weird performance issues and check the basic things that might cause issue. …

So, I wrecked my truck and decided to replace the engine due to the 53 block being cracked. Problem has been finding anything other than a 53. So, I'm back to the idea of repairing the block. I will not be hotrodding this truck. In fact, I've only put about 3k miles on it since buying it in January 2011 (tow vehicle only). I also know that I should replace the block. I'm looking for no kidding factual information from experienced folks who have either succeeded or failed at repairs, whether it be by welding or Lock N Stitch. Thanks

I'm almost done installing my adrenaline. Where is the best place to install the transmission temp. sensor. The place listed in the adrenaline install instruction, or in the pan? When my trans was done, they included a deep pan with a place for a sensor. The instructions show a different place on the pass side of the trans. My first thought says the place on the pass side would keep the wiring in a better spot. But I've alway thought the place in the pan is where most people put them. Any recommendations? This and the wire tap are all that left. Then I get to put the interior back together. Finding a "clean" place to mount the head unit on the ins…

Well, I got to use the Freightliner quite a bit today. Any ways she is back to full power. Enter highways from the ramp when all the cars go to the left to allow right of way and pass that big slow truck , they get quite the run for their money, I lay onto the accelerator, and they find them selves going alot faster to get around me. Also, at the bridge toll, 3 tolls wide, big blue took the lead up the grade to the bridge, left all the cars behind. It has always been a fast truck since I got it. Has some real tall gears. top speed of 85 mph at 2500 RPM governed. It has a 3.31 rear axle, and runs on 22.5 tires, so yeah it is long legged.Any ways after a 45 minute run home …

Last summer I installed some 7x.009 (100hp) VCO injectors and have only put a couple thousand miles on them, slight upgrade from my previous 60hp VCOs. I have been getting a really loud pinging/panging when the the torque converter is locked and under load. Doesn't happen in 1st or 2nd gear and it clears up around 2000rpm when the turbo is really flowing. It's definitely coming from the motor. Anyone experience this? I was reading about pre detonation and it sounds like it. Only happens under good throttle and almost always up hill under load. Any thoughts?

I am to a point after many years with a BD low pressure indicator that I am in need of a true gauge on my 02. My question is this. I want a gauge that is electric and doesn't use isolators and needs bleeding ect. I want the best quality with least hassles. I read continuous threads on a lot of forums of the gauges with isolators causing more issues than the rest of the rig. Which gauge mfg is the cats meow? I don't care about the bling the face has just after reliable accuracy without hassles. On my 05 I am after an electronic gauge cluster like edge BD quad ect, looking for input on the best choice in that area also. I want to keep the 05 simple and uncluttered versus ru…
