So, I decided I would give my injectors a little looky-loo. A few days ago, I did this. After fumbling around trying to figure out what wrench size the injector lines were, I got a wrench on them while the truck was running and all of them responded to them being cracked open. I was not able to get to cyl. #2 and #6. Is there a way to get to these injectors? Also, it seemed like it took a good amount of force to crack them open. I have never heard of a torquing device that would use an open-ended application like a wrench. How do I know if I tightened them enough or not enough?I have been avg. about 16mpg now after my BHAF install. I'm curious to see how my injectors are d…

Need a new set more than likely. Going to Getty mine bench tested. But need good information beforehand just in case. Shed your knowledge on injectors on me. Who to go with and why. I've heard a bit but need set straight on some things. My DAP set is less than 40k on me and at least one of them is bad. I don't like that idea...

I am going to start saving for some injectors but don't know much about which ones to choose, I have seen that there are different horse rated ones. I want something that I don't have to change the turbo asoon as I upgrade the injectors, but I also want to have enough power injectors for when I do upgrade the turbo. Any advice would be appreciated . Thanks!

So I'm on to the next upgrade in the Pearl. I want to upgrade the turbo and the injectors. As of current I have the stock turbo and the stock injectors in er. I'm looking to get more ponies to the ground, better take off, better mpg's, and just better overall performance. I have upgraded to an Air Dog II 165 already, so my VP is getting plenty of that sweet nectar it loves so much. So let's hear some of your combos and how they work for you please! Thanks, Mick

I am going to be cleaning my injectors soon. Should I replace the o rings and brass washers on the injectors when I am in there?

Hey guys, it’s been a while since posting but I have been checking in. Life is really getting in my way. I hope everyone is well. Now on to my issue. For the past few weeks my load (from OBDlink) at idle in gear has been very high. It’s higher now than when I’ve had my AC on previously. When at idle and in park it bounces between 0% and 4%. It’s when I put it in gear that it jumps up to above 15% (typically 18%-20%). I’ve also notice that my fuel rate has jumped to levels higher than when my AC was on (somewhere between 0.7 and 0.9 gal/hr). When I do have my AC on the load is well above 20% (around 24% +/-). Previously, with my AC on my max fuel rate …

Well every project I take on appears to give me headaches...I'm beyond stressed . I cannot get any of my injectors to budge (I've tried 1,2,3,4). I can rotate them in their slots but they will not lift up. All my strength and they will not move up a millimeter. I also cannot get my number five fuel line to disconnect from the crossover tube. I'll add pictures later but some of the nuts on the fuel lines are corroded which I suspect the issue to be with that (weird because it was California truck for 17 years). The corrosion spread to the threads on some of the fuel tubes but I'm replacing them anyway. My only other option would be to just button every…

Wanting to get a bit better mileage and maybe just a little more get up and go when I feel like it. I am a mellow driver but once in a while I like to step on it a bit. Nothin major. I have read about what some of you have done and here is what I am thinking now the truck is paid off. Assassin mech fuel pump, sounds like the electrical ones have issues here and there Big line kit Edge comp box Edge Insight CS Slight injector upgrade Now what I don't understand is what difference is there in changing the nozzles if you can just get whole injectors? Other than some extra coin savings. Plus any other input on what I have planned would be helpful. Steve

All right, more newbie questions. Thanks in advance for the patience and info!I'm in the middle of replacing my vacuum/ps pumps. Also have a new set of injectors to install, as well as Big Line kit & fuel gauge. I was planning on doing each task individually, but after pulling the V & PS pumps out I realized how much easier it would be to get them back in with out the intake and APPS sensor in the way. Since they need to be removed for changing injectors, I'm wondering if there is any reason I can't pull them, re-install the V & PS pumps, install the Big Line kit, gauge, and new injectors, put everything back together, bleed the fuel system, fire her up, &…

Hi all. This question is directly related to an ongoing thread at Cumminsforum, in which MoparMan is a contributor. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/search.php?searchid=9890709 I didn't want to high jack the thread, so here I am. Ultimately, it's about fuel efficiency & injectors, but bear with me! I've got a new to me '99Cummins 2500, 5spd, with 207K mls, fully stock. Had it checked out thoroughly before purchase, and everything is A OK. Recent clutch and tranny rebuild. My only concern now is the fuel system (which brings us back to the above mentioned thread). Getting ready for a 2 month Baja trip and want to make sure everything is good before I g…

Or as I am coming to think of it -- extraction... I am looking for info on how to remove the blasted thing without doing anymore damage than I already have to repair with the clutch going out. Does anyone have any diagrams for the NV5600 that includes removal of the input shaft? I have the manual, have downloaded what little I could find on the net. I am hopeful someone here has done this and can give me some tips. I am waiting for the replacement to arrive from Standard Gear. Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance. T

I am in the middle of changing another VP I have done so many of these I keep one in stock on the shelf in my shop, but i have 8 of these trucks to keep going. Anyway I have been trying to figure more out about this pump, at least why they fail, more to the point why mine fail. I normally take them off send them away and thats it. I know it is either the electronics or the mechanical part. My question is has anyone went in a dead pump to see.

When you guys get shiny new performance parts or even replacement parts do you inspect them before installing them? I've always made it habit to give the part a quick once over before installing, more so with parts from the auto parts stores than expensive performance parts. Anyway I had ordered a BD flex plate for my truck and it showed up today. Not 10 seconds out of the box I noticed that a few of the tack welds that hold the starter ring gear on had appeared to be cracked. From arms length you'd have a hard time noticing it, but I work in a weld/fab shop so naturally I see these things daily. I put a call in to BD and explained to them that I had found what appeared t…
