Okay so I purchased this 2001 6 speed in January. Well first week of March it caught in fire. Don’t know the cause of it. Engine related. I replaced every single sensor with a 2002 parts truck I had. Replaced both ecm and pcm wiring with the ecm and pcm off of that 2002 into my 01 to make sure everything would be happy. So I have a complete 2002 engine bay in my 01 electronics wise. I have a NO BUS on my cluster after the mileage flashes 3-4 times. I have unplugged the firewall plugs and wiped them off. I have unplugged the pcm connectors and wiped them off. I have even gotten another 2002 ecm and plugged it in with same results. I have also tried the 2001 pcm with the sa…

Alright ladies and gentlemen just got done replacing my APPs or TPS sensor (whichever you go by) and I'm having WOT when touching the fuel pedal.... This is what I've done so far, when installing the new TPS I back probed the #3 pin (green wire) set the voltage to 0.55 at idle and 3.8 at WOT. After finishing under the hood I went inside the truck and calibrated the ECM by turning the key on (not starting) and slowly pressed the pedal to the floor and let the pedal back up slowly. Then hook up my scan tool up and made sure no codes were set, which there is none. Then I started the truck and as soon as I touch the pedal it goes to WOT. Double checked my calibrat…

I need someone smarter than me. I feel like I'm playing jeopardy. The answer is - when driving in 3rd gear or od front servo pressure is 55-60 until I just back off the throttle slightly then it drops to 22. Until you Rev it up then pressure goes to 55 and away I go. All the other pressures check out just fine. Tried disconnecting the tv cable and then holding the tv cable at part throttle. Didn't help. When I manually shift into second pressure drops to 0. What do I check? What causes the front servo to engage or dis engage? Sorry to be a pest, I'm just scratching my head.

I'm thinking my heater block for intake is not working. Do you get any codes if this is the case. It usually came on in the morning in the past for maybe a few seconds in weather in the low 50's. It starts, but kinda sputters a little. Hoping to hear a little about what you think. Before it gets too cold.i found the article on grid heaters. Sounds like the temps lately have been on the bubble for grid heaters to come on. I'll wait for cooler weather for final diagnosis. But it's on my radar screen.

My fuel sending unit lines are rusting and starting to leak. Does anyone know a fix for this? I found a company, Tri-Starr, that makes just the steel replacement lines for $159. Looks to be good quality. Should I replace the whole unit or just the lines? http://tristarrradiator.com/dodge%20ram%20diesel%20page/dodge%20ram%20diesel%20page.html

The other day when I started my truck, I walked back into shop and suddenly, it went into high idle mode by itself, temp was about 30. This morning, I went out to start truck, walked into house and it goes into 3 cylinder mode. About 5 above. I disconnected my fooler weeks ago. Had to reroute wires when I put clutch master in. Never hooked the fooler back up. Do I have a ghost? Do they do this without the fooler from factory? Never did it last year..............

A few days ago, I experienced a random dead pedal issue on my lunch break at work. I went to go grab some lunch and everything was fine. Got back to the job site and killed the engine to eat. When I went to start it back up, I put it into drive and started to take off through the parking lot. At the moment I started to put my foot on the pedal a little, I realized I had no response. I mashed it and still nothing. Long story short, called a roll off tow truck, when he got there, it worked again. 2 days later (replaced TPS that day), dead pedal again. Reading forums and stuff to find sequences, all fuses are good, CEL went away when I pulled a fuse to test voltage on. Put i…

Hi, just starting on this project. Have a 2002 Ram 3500 HO, (assumed since 6 speed) that someone put at 1998.5 (august 98) 215 SO engine in. Runs like complete crap. Idles great, but wont go over 60 mph. Misses and stumbles off idle. Has the persistent Cam Sensor performance code and the tach quits after 7 seconds of startup. So have a 2001 gear, timing case and CPS on the way. Also has teh correct 2002 MAP sensor. Any tips or tricks?

2000 cummins ats stage 2 trans won't shift out of first. Edge cts reads it being in second but doesn't shift out of first. p0112 (intake air temp sensor 1 circuit voltage low) and p1693 (fault in companion module) codes are present. What causes this shifting issue and how can I fix it?

In an ISO air filter test, ( iso duramax iso 5011 testing) They reference the average CFM of the test was 350 cfm. Isn't that a low CFM for a diesel air filter test?

Ok i am currently looking for a second Dodge with a cummin's under the hood. But same as the last go around finding one that is just like i want it is getting harder. So i'm looking for a 2001 Dodge 2500-3500 HO 6spd but so far nearly every one i've looked at all say the same thing 150-180-250k mile's The mile's are way back in my mind i've drove a few with 400k and drove like new and of course the dreaded "Just replaced VP44 and added a Airdogg/FASS" Why do all these people drop $1500 for a Inj pump +Labor and then add a $700 Fuel pump + Labor and a 100 mile's later thorugh it up for sale. If i drop that kind of cash on something i'm gonna run it into the ground. lol I h…

So I've been hearing some chatter while coasting on the highway, i initially thought I was just in need of a valve adjustment because it sounds so similar to chattery valves I've heard on other engines. Did a valve adjustment and the noise is still present. After some long drives on the highway I realized if I'm coasting and put the slightest bit of pressure on the clutch the noise goes away. And when I say slight I mean slight, you could lean and empty sneaker or work boot on the pedal and the noise dissapears. I also noticed if I'm coasting and press the clutch pedal in and let it out the noise is gone for 5 seconds or so then returns. There's no noise if I coast for a …

As I have a 3500 4x4 gas truck sitting not being used and a fair way from being able to be used I'm thinking about breaking it for parts (need the space) what is the difference between a 46RE and a 47RE, trans on the cummins should really be done so I was thinking would it be possible to do the 46 to like dynamics stage 3 trans and its then a 47 ? Or am I missing something. Just read that the trans are basically the same just higher torque rating on the higher 2nd number. Would do the full works think it works out to around 5k. Importing a done trans isn't really feasable due to taxes and shipping charges and core charge

So I got my RV275s in the mail today. I have a question on the removal of the old ones. I don't want to pull the lines off the pump end, but I got new O rings for the transfer tubes so they have to come right out. Can I just loosen the hold down brackets and gently move them out of the way enough to get the tubes out? I have checked the net and watched pepsiocean's video so I'm all good with the rest of the procedure, just not sure about the lines is all.

So upon putting things back together on my truck after the vacuum pump rebuild, I think it is time for new IC boots and clamps.. I don't have the truck here today and am wanting to look at all my options. Does anyone know the sizes of the boots and clamps? Also if you have replaced yours and like or don't like anything about what you replaced with, please share that too.. Thank you
