So, for a while, I thought maybe I was breaking traction in the high gears, 5th and 6th, when I would pour the coal to it, usually the roads were a little wet, so I couldn't confirm for sure, but I had my doubts. Saturday, my wife and I are driving home, I hit the free way, trucks warmed up to temp, and I accelerate like normal to merge up to speed, but I could definitely tell something felt off. Under normal driving, I dont notice the truck missing or stuttering at all, like cruising speeds,, but when I lay into it pretty good, it has what I can only describe as a miss, but the truck doesn't sound like it's missing. You just feel it, even my wife said she not…

I tell ya, the thinking stuff pours in every now and then. So here is my latest thought! We all are aware of the high idle mod and moparmans IAT sensor mod that helps MPG's. BUT, what about a way to modify the whatever (ECM, PCM, etc.) to allow the engine to only inject fuel in the cylinders on demand? Some have the 3cylinder high idle, and that helps in warmups. But what if there is a way to allow the engine to only run on 3 cylinders or less or any amount desired to cut down on fuel and raise MPG's? Surely someone around here is smart enough to know whether or not it can be done? Some of the newer vehicles do the same thing. They run on 3-4 until a certain speed or thrott…

HiBeen playing around with the airconditioning on my truck (as it blows hot air and has done ever since I got it -> but its not been warm enough for me to get on it).Figuring it was low R134a or whatever - got the walmart kit and started filling - problem was it would only allow like 10% of the can to be dumped into the low pressure port/accumulator before it was complaining of too highpressure on the guage. Well I couldn;'t hear the compressor - so after reading around I figured that was it.I climbed under and diconnected the sensor/wiring harness.I then tried to use a piece of wire to bridge the wiring harness - it smoked a little - then nothing.I got my multimeter o…

Have a 2001 2500 HD Diesel 5.9 Auto Tranny. I have a major A/C leak. Leaked down with in 4 months. Are there any common problems with the A/C's on this type vehicle? I am the original owner. I had freon put in in 2007 and 2009 and Nov 2010. Is there a likely area to look for the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.ThanksMohok

Any benefit to keep volt meter hooked up and drive around, to test if anything going on in different RPM's and speeds/gears? Read alot people that trans govenor seems to come into play with a/c leakage. When using cruise control my actual mph gains on flat stretches. I can set it at 65 and 3 or 4 miles later I'm going over 70. Haven't tested anything yet but think it might be a/c leakage, reason why I'm wondering about higher speeds/RPM's. Thanks

So I’ve been having A/C issues for a while now and haven’t had the chance to really track it down. It’s got to be leaking somewhere as I’ve had a shop charge the system, add frion and such, and within a couple weeks it was back to blowing like warm air at best. Had to use one those cheapie Walmart cans to boost it back up over a weekend trip with the fam, knowing I’d need the cold air and that it’d leak in less then a week. I’ll be home in a few weeks and want to start tackling this (along with heater core swap) but before I start buying parts, are there any places prone to leaks I can check right off the bat? If worse comes to worse I’ll drop it at a shop an…

Alright, so I'm gonna get my A/C evacuated so I can pull the dash and replace the heater core. The problem is, how do I disconnect the A/C lines that go to the evaporator? I thought there was a simple trick to do them and could avoid buying the line disconnect tools, but I do not remember what the trick was. Or is there a trick?

Ok i've posted issue's with a off and on "dead Pedal" issue on this forum but i finally found the reason why after a few test run's. After all the test i have disscovered that any time i run my A/C on any setting my pedal goes dead good fuel pressure and so on just a dead pedal till i turn off the A/C. I can't even imagine why those two item's would even be tied together so any idea's why this is happening??? Thank's look forward to your anwser's

So I have been experiencing a gnarly vibration coming from somewhere in the drivetrain. The slip yoke into the transmission and the entire driveshaft is brand new so I'm inclined to rule them out. Nevertheless I inspected them and the u joints as I removed them and did not find any slop anywhere. Once I had the driveshaft off I noticed that the pinion had quite a bit of play both in rotation and in-n-out movement. I decided to tear down the pumpkin just to see what it looks like in there (I'm planning on changing gearsets in the next few months and thought exploring a bit in there couldn't hurt). I noticed the wear pattern seems to be way off toward the heel (…

Is it just me or does it make the truck a bit more peppy on the low end. I had to go to a service seminar 4 hours away from home. At 1 intersetion in particular you have to make a sharp turn to the left. I attempted this manuver...at a slow speed ,darn near did a 360 right there. Granted the roads were wet and I have studded winter tires but it was quite warm. WOW it works nice. I drove Like Michael told me for the most part on cruise at the speed limit. I had the Edge set on 5x3. Hand calculated is 20.76 mpg. I am pretty happy with it. A set of RV 275 or so injectors and it should be sweet. I wonder what these trucks would be like with an unlimited computer co…

Sorry I am new on here but have been on other sites that told me things that weren't exactly right. Just if someone is wondering the VP off a 2000 (so) with auto trans. will work on a 2001 (ho) with 6 speed. I made the switch about 500 Miles ago at first I thought it was the IP and swaped the pumps, it turned out to be the APPS. The pump off the 2000 (so) works just fine on the 2001 (ho). '

Had an issue with brakes start up last night and today. When applying the brakes and almost to a stop (Maybe 5mph), it feels like the ABS is kicking on? this in on dry pavement. not traction issues. Of course when this happens stopping distance goes wayyy up! I'm not really sure what to check. Wheel speed sensor maybe?? Any ideas??
