Okay, so I decided to replace the terminals on my 2001 dodge Cummins so I replaced all 4 battery terminals and when I went to start it up it started right up but then my check engine light illuminated and when I went to drive it it was in limp mode and it ran like ****. I did the key trick and 1488 and 0237 code came up so I replaced my map sensor and the problem is still occurring.

My 1999 2500 engine is surging while driving down the road. I recalibrated the APPS, which seemed to help, but 5 days later it is doing it again. Is the APPS going out or is there something else going on?

So I was finally able to make the time to install my 3 in 1 gauges from gloshift. Before you hate on gloshift, this was a gift from my daughter for Christmas. Took a little while to get it done, it was rather warm today (89°F / real feel was 95°F). I did get it finished though. I mounted the gauge in the supplied pod above the instrument cluster for easy viewing. The needle shows boost, in the small LCD screen is displays the exhaust gas temp and the fuel pressure.

  4. I bought a Banks brake used and I need a flanged down pipe. I already have 4" exhaust but it is necked down to match the stock turbo outlet. The Banks brake has a 4" outlet, flanged. They want over 200.00 for the down pipe alone!!!

Tried 3 times to contact Eric (on vacation maybe?) The valve at top of his pressure tester...should it be leak proof or not leak proof? and turning screw on tester only depresses the valve stem (to allow pressure in) on what ever you are testing?

  8. Anybody see or hear about elec damage from water, (washing or rain, etc) getting in from the cowling? There is a piece of rubber on each side by hood springs, mine have came loose. Going to glue them back on but wonder if beefing up some might be worth the time. Just wondering if might be problem.

Several years ago when I changed my front diff fluid I was pretty sure I over filled and it vented some fluid and pretty much clogged the prefilter on my BAHF. Today while changing my ac compressor I could see that it has vented again. It has been near 4 years since I changed it. What would make it vent fluid now? I have a trail down the inner fender well.

2002 24v recently had NO BUS problem but got it fixed. Still doesn’t start, fuel pressure gauge says 10-15 psi. There’s fuel at the injector lines on the head but not much. Won’t even start on ether, p0122 p0123 p1693 are my codes. VP44 less than a year old, air dog 150 gph and Edge juice bigger injectors are the only mods. I’m lost here and really need some help.

Didnt fix it. Low voltage about 2 or so. Did the W/t mod. Hoping it was a ground. I had metioned I had a code Po 2016 injection pump timing. It is a brand new pump 150 miles so, I said no way but I was told to use some Atf. I finished the W-t mod replaced the fuel filter 1/3 of the atf with the filter rest in the tank. Ran it for 10 mins drove it 10 miles it dead pedaled only on time. Much better it was doing it everymile. Today it still did it twice. Put on the scan tool and got the po20…

  19. Denso Alternator Modification I'm doing this write-up in case anyone runs into the problem I did and they don't want to buy a new or find another style alternator. After I bought the diode replacement and tried to install it I realized that it was slightly different from mine. Note: The new lead is smaller in diameter and shorter than the old lead. Here is a link on how to take the alternator apart written by IBMobile. If yours is like mine and the lead comes off the side the B+ post nut sizes will be a 13mm but the steps will be the same. Tools required for modification: * Small cut off wheel or Air saw * Ball-peen h…

  20. I've been around the forums with this truck for years. I'm a DIY gal with minimal mechanical knowledge, enough to be dangerous, enough to get in trouble. We've been plagued by some gremlins for many years and recently we purchased a friend's very well maintained 3rd gen with 77,000 miles and no known gremlins (yet). I loved our 2nd gen, been a great truck that has seen better days cosmetically, and I think it will make a nice pickup for someone who likes really loud trucks and doesn't mind doing some work to bring her back to her glory days cosmetically. However, I feel to sell her as is would be a big financial hit because of the following issues. …
