Last fall my truck started my truck started experiencing symptoms of VP44 failure. My truck is a H.O with 142xxx miles. What happens is after driving it for a period of time longer than say a half hour and shutting the truck off, if I would try starting it again about a half hour after it was off the CEL would come on. The truck would idle fine but when i go to hit the throttle it revs to 1400 RPM uncontrollably, it feel's like its either giving it the amount of fuel it needs for idle or WOT, no in between. It also won't rev pass 1400, I'm assuming that is due to reduced power from the CEL. So the truck would be idling fine for a while and then it would just cut out rando…

I'm trying to remember if the PCM has anything to do with the security/keyless entry, or is that all handled by the CTM? My left leg/knee cannot handle the performance clutch in my 6 speed 4x4 anymore, so I need to find a built auto trans to swap for or try to trade my pickup with its complete brand-new paint job for an auto trans pickup that's had the trans rebuilt.

It's a 01 3500 quad high premium 2wd -7 HO 6spd I bought 2 yrs back. My first diesel, Ram, it's has some miles but no damage or rust, could use a new dash and some paint. When i picked it up the cruise was Inop. and the trip computer read no CCD but the gauge cluster works fine. Is the CCD bus broken up into diff. sections?32 If both read outs are on the same bus shouldn't they both have No CCD? The Stereo has a aftermarket deck in its place and the steering wheel collum radio controls are disconnected. Can a poor radio install cause a bus failure? It has a strong engine but it's 235 hp, not the -7 HO it originally had, this is probably my cruz issue , it also pull…

My front driveshaft ate my pcm wiring harness in the middle of nowhere, it ripped the entire harness out of its connectors. My question is, does anybody know if any pcm wiring harness from 1998-2001 will work in my 1998.5 24v? I’ve seen someplace that only 98 and 99 are compatible but I’ve seen nobody saying why. When I compare the two harnesses from photos they look the same?

Today I wired in a lockup switch, into an existing switch panel I have that has b+ to the switches. I ran the switches wire to a relay and when I flip the switch it sends positive to the relay. The relay sends ground to the b11 orange/black wire on the white middle connector, problem is it seems when I turn the switch on it unlocks the converter and my speedometer stops working, anyone seen this? Thanks

So a couple of nights ago I built a manifold for the fps on the quadzilla (I have access to hydraulic fluid fittings in all sizes) and was able to install my fps since I bought the programmer. I noticed the first night the pressure jumped around alot, and would drop to 6 psi on the gauge, then jump back up. I figured it was the water hammer effect, and I installed the needle valve I had bought previously but forgot about until then. She sits steady at 12-13psi idle, but continues to jump up and down while driving. I haven't romped on it (too scary to do with no 4x4 and icy roads) but it made me curious if the sensor was junk? Or? I also changed out both filters on m…

Ok, so pretty confused right now and hoping for clarification. Btw it's a bit of a read... What happened, lost control of o/d switch/ could not disengage but trans acted normal, where I am at we have had some flooding so on my way to work in the dark I missed some high water around a bend and went through it at speed no deeper than the axles not even ten miles up the road o/d hunting began got to work a few miles down the road and called the builder of the transmission, this trans has maybe 20k on it and is still under warranty. He told me to come straight there after work finished work heading over to him trans acted normal again. My immediate thought…

I was trying to find a article from years ago about cleaning them and no luck. Is MAF by CRC sensor cleaner the same thing? I think I just remembered, clean then with acetone?

I recently bought a new to me 1999 2500. Low miles, 124k. My issue I'm having is I have codes p1964, no ccd bus and the companion code. I have no wait to start or an intermittent wait to start. What I have found weird is if I unhook my grounds for 5-10 mins then reconnect them the wait to start is immediate for 3-4 key cycles, then goes back to intermittent or not at all. I found this out when I put on new military cable ends, the grounds wouldn't stay tight. Pickup runs fine, doesn't want to start when it's super cold, which makes sense with no wait to start but when it's warm it pops right off and runs great. Also another side note I have had it…

Hey guys, I was towing up hill today and somehow the wire harness that runs horizontally across the front frame cross member underneath the radiator fan came loose and got sucked into the fan. 13 wires got shredded. I replaced three blown fuses and managed to splice everything back together and got everything working (headlights, turn signals, hazards, windows, overhead display, etc.) EXCEPT my Power lock function. The unlock works on the driver side and passenger door but not unlock. i’ve been looking for about two hours now for a wiring diagram and can’t seem to find one for that harness. does anyone have any input on what I should try or…

So I'm trying to figure out a previous problem where I suspect I fried my ecm. Long story short I did the wt wire mod on the truck, but didn't crimp a battery terminal right, and had a bad time. I sent the quadzilla module off, and they checked it out, and all is well with it. Truck is still throwing the same codes in the title, and with my janky Bosch scantool, I can see the map sensor still isn't reading, staying permanently stuck on 29.5hg. I tested all the wires, I'm getting good ground to the map sensor, and getting the 5 volts to it, but no signal on the wire. I have the ecm directly plugged into the map sensor (not through quadzilla) and the truck still shows…

So I replaced my airdog150 for the new 4G 165, my only question is why does the return have such a small hole (0.138)? Of course my return dumps into the filler neck and just checking to make sure this will work. Because the system they sent draws through the old sender basket. I have the draw straw drilled at the top of the tank. I think my old 150 electrical plug in is the same so I shouldnt have to replace that, right?

Hi, Ive had code P0122 so i checked the apps voltage and at idle it was .39 and max was 3.58. So i loosened the two T20 torx on the apps and adjusted it up to .535.. then, i calibrated to the ecm by disconnecting battery for 20 minutes, reconnecting, key on, depress accelerator once, let off and key off.. my new apps range is .53 to 3.54. ive run it but not driven it. seems to run the way it had, which is good. no problem with how it runs. ive had trouble with it shifting, it doesnt want to shift down as quickly as i think it should. and it seems to shift up sooner into the next gear than maybe it should. seems to lock up sooner than it should. I dont r…

Hey guys, I need some help troubleshooting my truck. I’m gone for weeks at a time for work so when I leave I disconnect my passenger side battery, leave the drivers side on because it’s shot anyway. When I came home from work I connected the passenger side battery and my fass started running like the key was on. I went in the truck and the gauge cluster was powered on as well. When I put the key in and turned the Ignition on, the wait to start light didn’t come on, tried to start it and crank no start. I turned the key off and the fass kept running and the cluster stayed powered up. Only way I can get the truck to start is if I disconnect the batteries, and put only the p…

Does anyone know if the front brace (held on by 2 bolts on each side) is only for manual seats? I have power seats (driver and passenger side) in the truck. The truck came with a spare set as well which the passenger side is manual and it is the only seat with the front brace. It’s located right behind where the bar is to release the latch on the manual seat. Maybe to create stiffness for the manual pins to release?

Flushing the Coolant System Draining Coolant On a cool engine (less than 140*F) remove the radiator cap. Now at the bottom of the radiator, there is a drain valve on the radiator. The drain turns 1/2 turn then pulls outward slightly then continues to turn to drain. To drain the overflow bottom it just easier to remove the hose from the radiator neck and then pull the overflow bottle upwards from the fan shroud. Flushing Cooling System Flushing the cooling system you'll need to remove the thermostat. There are three 8mm head bolts holding the cover in place. Once the cover is removed you can lift the thermostat out. Now replace the thermostat cover and the…

Went to dealer had my 1998.5 Dodge Cummins auto transmission flashed for 3 cylinder idle. Doesn’t work. Plugged in diagnostic tester. Air temp 10f, coolant 10f, speed 0, TPS 0%. Only other things to check is to ensure pickup is in park or neutral and brake is not on. It’s in park and the brake light aren’t on. Anything to check with parking or brake? Is there anything else I can check? Also tried with parking brake on. Also did the APPS reset leaving batteries disconnected for an hour

Anyone ever do a ram air intake on our trucks? Bhaf seemed to be a good help and a good friend swore by the ram air intake on his VMAX bike. I feel like it would help in our application (diesel no real air fuel ratio no throttle blade) but I know it's mostly a looks thing on regular gas cars. Just curious if anyone has ever messed with it.
