Slightly new here but have looked around, yet still cant find an answer maybe yall could help. I have a 2000 24v that will run when doing the bule chip diesel hot wire to the vp44 test but wont run with the plug. Making me think Ecm. For some background the truck was originally a v10 model converted to diesel. The only part remaining from the gas version is the physical dash and dash harness(insturment cluster was swapped as well). The truck was throwing p1693 code when i had my cheap scanner hooked to it as well as the sending unit code. When i hooked up my nice snap on one it said there was no codes? Anyone have any ideas?

Hi guys. New here. Been around these things for a long time, but don't know Cummins like you guys do. I come from the rockcrawling world, and know a lot about LS stuff, and worked on lots of different diesels over the years, but not lots of cummins stuff beyond 12v. I need some help. Have a few issues on this cobbled together hooptie. Bought this truck as a tow rig, as my Bil's buggy will fit on the rear and it can tow my crawler behind it. Supposedly it was running and driving and then wouldn't start one morning. Tried and tried to get it but couldn't. Had some "diesel mechanic" diagnose it as a bad VP44 due to codes etc. Removed it and then he couldnt affo…

Recently bought a 99 Cummins 4wd 5spd, my issue is the truck will get a “dead pedal” while driving. I can cycle the key “fast” or engage an disengage the clutch an regain fueling for 5-10miles and will get the 3 dings an lose the pedal again. From what I see the vp is a reman. I cleaned battery cables and replaced the tps and did a calibration with no fix. The previous owner installed a fass in hopes to fix the issue with no luck also. Truck starts every time no issues. Current codes are: p0216, p0122, p1693, p0222 and also have a code on body: module hardware fault.

Really cool guyMan I found the best guy to buy ECM from, they are called ECM Outlet. This guy is nice and likes to talk, shoot the small talk with you .Your not just a check # with him.Cost shipped to Tx is 540.00 not dirt cheap but better than anyone I have found. Oh and five year warranty, everybody else is one year, even Cummins remanHe also said that if your P/N on ecm starts with 394 (like mine of course) they are hard to find. He also says that there are about 40 ecm's out there for our trucks 01 - 02. 1-248-565-8308Joe

I have a 2002 Ram 2500 5.9L C code Cummins with the 6 speed and RWD. I have P0112 and P0237 engine lights. Changed both sensors, problems still there. It has limited power past 1200rpm. I checked all the wiring and every wire Ohms out at 0.0 Pins 7 and 11 Ohm out at 65,000 Ohms and I understand it should be less than 100 Ohms so I'm 99.8% sure the ECM is shot. My query is that my ECM P/N is 3947912 but I called Cummins and gave them my VIN# 3B7KC23CX2M202698 and they said the ECM P/N should be 3947412. The wired thing is the ESN for both ECM's are the same 56853373. Im assuming the ECM in the truck is original since the ECM date is 7-21-01 and the truck build date…

Got a good story for you guys. Had a bad ecm that worked on the truck for a week or two, then intermittent no start. Put a loaner ecm and started right up, but had limited peddle as it was a fleet truck and derated. I used that for a few months, and then took it to a Cummins Workshop today to have it flashed back to factory settings. Now, the loaner wont fire, and my family had to drive 5 hours to get two different ones. Now, neither of those will fire also. I am completely confused as to what is going on or what the Cummins company could have did, and my truck is stuck at the Cummins shop. Thanks.

I'm new to the site and wanted to say thanks in advance for any help given. I had a shop diagnose my trucks issues, and they said its got a bad ecm "2002 dodge 2500 5.9 cummins six speed". I decided have my ecm sent in for repair. My Chilton repair manual doesn't mention anything special on the reinstall. They did talked about grounding your self to the vehicle and using a anti-static pad. I don't have a pad. It sounds like plug in and drive. Let me know if i'm wrong.

Anyone heard of RAE Diesel (Reman Auto Electronics)? They are Part of Flight Systems Electronics group http://www.remanautoelectronics.com/about https://www.fseg.net/ I talked to them seems like a winner . The ECMs are re-manufactured, up graded, and also repaired if needed , not just repaired .

I am looking for someone wanting to swap ecm's. I have an 02 manual ecm 235hp and I'm looking for someone with an 02 auto ecm that wants to swap. I can confirm the anti stall feature is present and functioning as that is the reason I am looking to swap. Trying to stop this thing in gear is like trying to stop a freight train (Allison 6 speed with extra low stall). It's never had a Smarty hooked up to it, completely stock. Pm me if you're interested.

Guys please excuse me as I am new to this platform. I recently purchased a 98.5 Ram 3500 5spd 4x4 that had some issues that I knew about before I bought it. It was throwing P0336 and P1693. Previous owner had replaced the crank sensor but I did it again just to be sure. Verified continuity from the ECM plug to the crank sensor connector and installed a brand new connector also. It was still doing the same thing, start right up, run and idle fine but had no tachometer, and after about 45 mins to an hour start running very choppy and inconsistently. I swapped the ECM with one from a 1999 2500 5spd 4x4 suspecting it initially. The choppiness and bad running at the hour mark…

Got some questions about swapping an ECM. I am having issues with my WTS light and no pump prime at key on or bump start. All grounds and fuse's have been checked. Can a smarty reprogram the replacement ECM or does a dealer have to do it? Will any ECM work from a 1998.5-2002? I have heard the 01-02 wont work on a 1998-2000 because of the crank/cam sensor difference? Dose it matter if the replacement ECM is from a automatic or manual transmission? Some say it will work, some say they wont program? On the back of ECM's there are part numbers, serial numbers, and some other series of numbers that aren't labeled. Should I try to match a particular number on the EC…

Throwing this out there.... could you remove the dodge ecm and wire harness and replace it with a regular isb ecm & wire harness? ive been looking at diagrams and the dodge/isb only has 1 50 pin connector while the non dodge ecm has 2 50 pin connectors, and on that 2nd connector could you do more with (extra features that dodge didnt seem to want us to have which bother me). I've just been thinking outside the box lately, traveling the path less taken.I need to get the Cummins Inline 5 or 6 at some point to, see what I can do with the Insite program (yes i have all the levels of licensing and the licensing for password removal & oem password removal), Also I have …

Had the aggravating flashing WTS light this morning. Just drove my truck home last night to use for work today. ACS just rebuilt the ECM three months ago. I bet I don't have 300 miles on the truck since having it rebuilt. Not sure what to make of this. Prior to installing the rebuilt ECM I did the ground mod and upgraded the ground wire size. I haven't contacted ACS yet, but I will definitely be sending the ECM in for testing. Fortunately I have a spare ECM from a 2001 I can use but I just won't have a working oil pressure gauge. I am considering buying a used ECM. Does anyone think moisture has anything do with it? When the ECM went out it was raining and thi…
