Today in Massachusetts it -5 degrees. Went outside and started the truck. Let her warm up for 20 mins. Running like a champ. Fuel pressure reads 0 psi. Went through the diagnosis found the fass fuel pump fuse was blown. Replaced the fuse got my fuel pressure back. I couldn't believe how well the truck was running just off the injection pump. Without the fuel pressure gauge u would never know the difference. I would have been driving around with no lift pump, till it blew up the vp44. Wondering why the fass blew the fuse, thick fuel? Everyone needs a fuel pressure gauge with these trucks.

i have a 99 24v and the ecm stopped sending signal to the alternator. i have came across this before on several 12v. i install a cpgenerator voltage regulator. i have yet to do this on a 24v but i have a friend lance from 4play offroad and diesel that has done this swap and told me to ask mopara973man, because it was slightly more extensive than the 12v. i searched for the post but have yet to find it. thanks to anyone that can give me the skinny on what wires to bypass and need to route to and from

hi everyone thanks for taking some time to read this.. I was driving home today on the freeway thinking how nice my truck was running. I got into town left the shop light and the truck stayed in first gear. I let off the throttle and it shifted into second. It held second gear until I let off again. I have a converter lockup switch and the shift relay pulled and jumped. It's been this way for years. Now this happened... Another note I have 2 old optima batteries that are having a hard time starting the truck when it's cold in the morning. I'm open to hear theories ideas ect. Thanks again

Well on the way home last night I decided to get on the skinny pedal some on the onramp. Truck pulled great egt's nice no issues, let out of it somewhat fast and barked the turbo and BAM lost my RPM gauge, CEL pops on.....ugh, Truck drives fine all the way home so I thought eh who knows. Last night I decided I also wanted to load a new tune onto my ADR to try and clean up some of the low end smoke if I am on it. I have extra fuel thanks to the DFI injectors so I don't really need the aggressive tuning down low. So I load the factory tune back onto the ADR. Jump in the truck this morning and my Quad says my Boost is at 11 PSI …

I have a 1998.5 3500 5.9 Vin 6 24v CTD, have put in a remain VP44 from O'Reillys, a new lift pump that puts about about 16 psi WOT, DAP 100HP injectors, and have done a block test and still cannot manage to figure out why i have white smoke at WOT. It blows a puff of white on a cold morning but after reaching OT my programmer kicks on and it'll be black for a while then it seems as if randomly it'll turn white, then if i turn my programmer off it still smokes white. I have no idea from here. Any ideas?

Thought I had my trans sorted out but unfortunately that's not the case. Currently the TV lever on the side of the trans pushes back so hard I'm unable to push the throttle pedal down much beyond idle. I'm unfamiliar with how the TV interacts with the VB so I have no idea what could be causing this. I need to know if this is something that I would be able to fix tonight or if I'm just screwed.

I got stuck in some mud the other day, went to shift into 4 wheel drive and the shifter just floats freely feels like it is not connected to anything. rear wheel drive still works fine. is there a linkage that may have come apart or broken? and most importantly is this something i should attempt to fix with my limited mechanical ability, tools and knowledge or should i take it to a shop. i had to be pulled out by a ford...very embarrassing!!! Thanks in advance for any help or advice you have to offer

Hi everyone!! I've don't quite a bit of reading on this forum (and many others) and finally decided to sign up. Ive Had this truck going on 3 years now and i know the guy i bought it from and how well he took care of it. Well the trouble all started last summer in July. There was a lightning storm and i believe it fried the ECM in my truck. After some digging I got my hands on a used ECM out of a 2001 6spd. It had the same cummins part number as the original. Once i installed it I had quite a few codes being thrown (215, 237, 380, 382, 522, 1488, 1689, 1693) and the truck would only Idle and if i pressed the fuel pedal it would jump right up to about 1…

My 2002 24 valve with 180 k miles through these two codes at me the other night as it shut down rolling through an intersection PCU P1693 & ECU P0230. I replaced my lift pump and fuel filter with (OEM parts) after Priming a number of times I got no result. From the sending unit to the injector pump there's what looks like a pressure sensor or regulator with two pig tail wires connected to it running to the lift pump so I grabbed/jiggled/fannessed the two wires and it started and ran so I pulled that part an nobody could idenify it or help me . I dont hear my injection pump running at the key on ignition off position but once I bump the key it pumps and it builds about…

I was driving my truck this morning and all the gauges stopped working and warning lights came on and no bus displayed in the odometer. I hooked up my code reader and it says P1698 no bus message from transmission control module. my code reader will not erase the codes. Has anyone had experience with this. Also wondering if it is okay to drive in this condition. I checked the connections going to the pcm and everything looks fine.

Just ordered a bearing and brush kit from Geno`s , to keep this one as a spare . But would like to get a higher amp than the 135 amp or whatever it is , something like 200 or 250 maybe . I have dually flatbed on it and it has a lot of lights and I haul a truck camper tow trailers , more lights and charge camper batterys on the move , also a large 5th wheel same thing I solved my lock unlock tork converter prob years ago with a ATS rewire , don't want it back if the higher amp ones will cause it Have seen geeenies or such for 400.00 , …

My boost elbow threads are loose enough it's tightening up while I drive.... I went to do some testing and saw the drive pressure spike to over 110psi. Needless to say I'd like to make sure it stays in place! Ideas? I've got a couple of my own but I'd like to hear you guys' first.

I have been considering installing a blocking diode for Alternative energy production to prevent AC Noise from screwing things up. 1600V*100A=160kW which is far more than our trucks output. This means that I could install it between the alternator and the power block to protect all electrical components easily and cost effectively. Installing a diode eliminates the possibility of AC current because it only allows current to flow one way. I would install it between the power block and the alternator then heat shrink to prevent electrical hazards. Another option I have thought of is creating a diode bridge, however, it is difficult to find diodes with the capabili…

Hello folks. My typical 2nd gen doge tranny is nearing it's end. I'm thinking about doing an Auto to Manual swap to hopefully save on money. (Built tranny's are quite expensive) Currently, the truck sits around 500 horsepower, but will probably go up as I add a twin turbo kit and injectors in the future. Can someone share a parts list of the things I would need for the conversion from auto to manual, including the cost of the parts (Except transmission)? Also, would the ECM need to be swapped or reprogrammed? I need to know everything that has to be done for the swap before I decide to begin the project. If any of you believe I should stick to the Auto, what co…

Long story short I was checking on my dad's cattle out in the field and got some really bad wheel hop and the exhaust came apart. Not a big deal I thought but after looking it over the Po who put the 4in exhaust on didn't get one of the pipes together and put the clamp on it egged out the one side and I can't get it back together. my question is can I cut about 1 inch off and put it back together or is this pipe flared on the bell side.

Hi everybody, I'm a new member here, but have been lurking for some time learning as much as I can. My first truck was a lifted 01 f350 with the 7.3 psd. It had an exhaust leak and possibly bad injectors, and was lifted way high with 38's. Not my style truck, and was more than I felt comfortable tackling myself (I was 20). I found an immaculate 02 cummins with 115k miles, totally unmolested with a paint matched canopy and bed rug. I was in love from the first time I saw it on craigslist. Went and bought it the next day with a small loan. Fast forward about 2 years today, still have it and love it. It now has 140k on the clock and I have done oil changes and fuel fil…

I am wanting to do a 24 valve cummins swap into a truck and i was wanting to know if a factory wiring harness could be modified to work without the original truck. I have been told that the 98.5'-00' trucks and the 01'- 02' have slightly different wiring. My question is has anyone done a stand alone wiring harness or does anyone have a diagram of a factory harness that has been turned into a stand alone harness?
