What is your opinion on Radial tires and rotating left and right tires so they are rolling the opposite direction? Or do you thing its best to only rotate front to back same side so the tire always role the same direction?

I put a mystery switch in the shifter, thank you me78569. The momentary switch is used to trip a 'switching' relay that turns on a light at the A-post next to the trans temp gauge and all so closes a 'grounding' relay that grounds the torque converter lockup solenoid. Terminal 85 of the switching relay is grounded through terminal 1 of the brake light switch which is also a ground for the ABS controller. When I engage the lock up everything is ok , then manually lock out over drive to down shift to 3ed. The check engine light comes on. There is no up shift to over drive until the lockup solenoid is ungrounded. The code that is set is p0122 throttle position sensor/swi…

Today I went up to the mountains and noticed something.... Whenever my EGTs were below 350* and I stepped on the throttle (NOT in gear) it really struggled to rev up. It would buck and pop and blow white smoke, then when it got to around 2,000 rpm it would smooth out and rev up higher just fine. I tried it multiple times because there were no cars around, and had the same result every time. Now why would it do this?? Could altitude be a factor? Could outside ambient temps cause it? Could high timing at low rpms cause it? I've heard of pre-ignition on diesels with high timing but I'm not sure if that's what it was. I will say the smarty was on #1 which is supposed to…

I have a 2001 Ram 2500, 4WD, 6 speed. The cruise control indicator is always displayed on the dash, even before the truck is started. None of the cruise control buttons do anything. So, the cruise isn't working. I took the truck to auto zone and they reported that the truck wasn't throwing any codes. I attempted to contact dripley because he seemed to have this same problem, but his account no longer accepts messages. My best guess is the clock spring. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

  8. Just got home from my 250 mile round trip out into the hill country of Ne, and brought home some cows. Believe me, This has been bugging the hell out of me. First of all, I decided to call on the big gun. My Dad was an mechanical engineer, and I had quite an upbringing as a kid. a lot of principles were hammered home.. Almost Nazi style. Now, 45 years later, some of these principles are a little hard to bring out of the archives! My career path took me out of the loop for studying and practicing the sciences. Dad passed about 10 years ago, I sure miss being able to call him up and quiz him about how to build this, or what materials to use here.. So, I did the ne…

  9. Hello, I am new to this forum. I spoke to Mopar1973Man on the telephone, Thanks to him for sharing his wealth of knowledge. Here is the info I provided to the service facility: "Vehicle information: 2002 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9 Cummins HO, 6 speed manual, 4x4. Modifications: Injectors-Formula 1 Mach 2 105hp, Smarty S-03 programmer, FASS. Symptoms: For the past 2 months, truck has had issues starting ranging from a hard start to stalling nearly a minute after being started. This all seems to take place when the temperature is below the operating temperature of 190. If I make several stops before the truck is at running temp, it usually has trou…

Alright guys I am experiencing a miss at all RPMs. It is pretty noticeable near the engine with a knock, but is extremely noticeable at the exhaust. It is easy to feel that the exhaust is "puffing" per say. Now I just replaced the injectors with a new set of 125hp sacs, but the miss was prevalent before the injector swap. The swap did not make a difference. Everything sounds the exact same as before the swap. I have fuel squirting out of each connection at the cross over tubes while running. MoparMan and I spoke on the phone earlier and have decided to take a systematic approach to resolving this issue. Ruled out: 1. Injection pump: Always supplied good pressure, less t…

Well, looks like my Amsoil can't hack it! I'm pretty dissapointed with this as I'd only read and heard good things about this filter before installing it, with the only failures or negative comments coming from a guy who was running twins. Either way, my truck has no tuning and exhaust only so it's hard to think that a truck in pretty much stock form could do this to a 'premium' air filter! Anyone know a place I can pick up a BHAF on the cheap?!

I'm ready to buy some injectors but I need a little help deciding. I've narrowed it down to RV275's or DAP 75hp aftermarket. I want to keep my cores. I really want the 75hp but worried about aftermarket bodies. Would like to hear some opinions.

I'm going to try and start gathering parts for my tear down, and would like to replace all of my synchronizers while I'm in there. 3rd and 4th gear are getting pretty tired. Does anyone know any good places to source these parts? I don't want anything cheap that will go out in a year. Thanks!

If I get an ECM the same year and transmission as my truck do I still need to have it flashed to my VIN? If so do they need the truck or can I just take the ECM? And what do I ask them for? Just a reflash for my VIN with updates? I just want to know what I'm doing before I go to a dealer for this. Thanks

Hi, i'm new to this site and there is a-lot of neat stuff on here.I got a question that maybe someone can help me out with.I got a 24v engine out of a 2001 school bus been sitting for a long time so i threw it on my motor stand and put a new head on it. I want to test it on the stand but having trouble wiring the apps because it is on the throttle pedal and not on the side of the pump. I don't want to burn the pump up by doing something stupid for it is a new one.I have already had it running but only at idle i want to throttle it up but can't figure it out . Thanks Craig

Hey all, just pulled my old trans that was slipping and not wanting to shift out of first a few weeks back. Got a brand new rebuild with a shift kit, raised pressure, redone VB, the works (not a full race trans but warrantied to as much power as I could add on a single turbo) and put it in. At first, it wouldn't run well, so I figured "what the heck, I'll replace output speed sensor and try." After that, It ran fine for about 5 miles until suddenly, it started slipping and wouldn't shift out of first. Same exact issue I had with the old one. The other day, it started up and went through the gears no issue but the problem has since come back. Now I've got the flui…
