Howdy! I'm having some brake drag coming from the calipers in my truck. Here's a little background on how I got here: Worn out ball joints started me down the rabbit hole of a front end rebuild. I've got new ball joints, hub bearings, rotors, brake pads, track bar and steering box brace. The good news is it drives about like it should tho new TREs are in the near-ish future. That should finish things up and make it all good under there. I changed the pads and rotors because they were old and thin and the truck had started pulling to the left under moderate braking. Hard braking was straight as an arrow. Go figure... After I installed all this new hardware and …

Is it just me or does it make the truck a bit more peppy on the low end. I had to go to a service seminar 4 hours away from home. At 1 intersetion in particular you have to make a sharp turn to the left. I attempted this manuver...at a slow speed ,darn near did a 360 right there. Granted the roads were wet and I have studded winter tires but it was quite warm. WOW it works nice. I drove Like Michael told me for the most part on cruise at the speed limit. I had the Edge set on 5x3. Hand calculated is 20.76 mpg. I am pretty happy with it. A set of RV 275 or so injectors and it should be sweet. I wonder what these trucks would be like with an unlimited computer co…

All right, I ordered a new set of RV275 injectors and feed tube o-rings from DAP. They will be here tomorrow. I got all my old injectors pulled today. It was actually fairly easy, I had figured 5 and 6 were going to be a pain but they weren't. I can return my old injectors for a $100 refund but I was thinking about keeping them for a spare set. I decided to go ahead and take one apart tonight, and noticed there were two washers inside the injector above the spring? I've never taken one apart before, but isn't there only supposed to be one washer? Do you think the second washer has something to do with pop pressure? Injectors wore out? Also, just to make sure I hav…

I frequent this site to see if there is something I just gotta have... and this 1998 2500 caught my eye. Current bid is 4000.. No. I'm not interested, but I was searching 'flatbeds' and this caught my eye! seems a little odd placement of fuel pressure gauge?? supposed to have a fass, ats 3 piece exhaust, ats transmission, and firestone air bags.. then I seen this: My guess is this onboard air compressor is for air bags, and that gauge on the corner of the cab is for the air supply?

Somewhere I looked over a write up that I think Mike wrote or fixed up about what the settings on the Edge did. Explained about each setting and its affect on fuel and timing. Of course I can't find it now and did not copy it. Could someone point it out to me . Regards Chris

Hello, Been A while since being on. Busy working! I Bumped my truck over and didn't hear my fuel pump run. Shouldn't it run every time you key the starter? The fuse was good on the air dog. I tested and had voltage on both sides the truck off. it when trouble shooting my truck that didn;t want to start at work today. Think I have a starter issue as well. Thanks for any info. Also been having very cold temps and snow. JOHN

I have two axles that I am considering changing the internals from one to another 1. I have a Dana 70 2u (factory disc) that I picked up the other day, and it is trashed as far the internals go. 2. My good Dana 70 2u (drum) has about 300k on the clock, and its in good shape from the operational standpoint. Is the disc worth building, and having under the truck? It will take quite a bit of steaming all the metal out of the axle to get it to where it will be safe to run the axle long-term. Another thing I have considered is removing the flanges via cutting them off and putting the disc flange on the drum axle( minus the drum flange). I look forward to any…

Ok I can't seem to figure out what the noise my engine makes. I just installed my edge comp box yesterday (Not wire tapped) to make sure everything was going to work properly when I do decide to tap the pump. Now when the engine is down in the lower rpms and i stab the throttle I get a slight loss of power, and a terrible "grunting" sound. To me it sounds like the timing is WAY off from what is should be, But as soon as I build a couple pounds of boost the horrible noise goes away and the power comes on instantly. I have no codes, smarty is set to stock, FP is 15wot 19idling. IP is 2 1/2 months old. I thought I had read somewhere that if the MAP sensor voltage is way low…

I may have a problem with my lp or fpg not sure. Yesterday I started my Cummins and noticed that the dash buzzer and wait to start light did not come on. The truck had been sitting for eight days without starting. After starting I noticed the fp fluctuated between 28 and 20 several times while at idle. Once driving it fluctuated between 18 and 24. The only thing I have done was changed the fuel filter when I serviced the truck about fifty miles ago. I installed a Donaldson ff. I believe I read that the Donaldson ff was 10 micro. I cant figure this deal out. Anyone had this problem before?

HI, I was reading the article on Fuel pressures for the VP44. I have a couple of questions. My truck is a 1999 and has 87,000 miles, the stock lift pump went out in 07, 57,000 miles and was retrofitted with a new lift pump in the tank, along with a new filter assembly. The truck was running good, the other day I stopped for about 30 minutes got back in the truck, started right up idled perfect, but stumbled above an idle, so I idled home, changed the fuel filter, had a very hard time starting it. I primed the system about 5 times before trying to start it, it finally started but real rough. The next day I rented a fuel pressure gauge, I have 10 lbs at the filter, I check…

I've got 1765 0743 0382 for codes. I looked them up but reading through the write-ups it really goes over my head! Could someone help me know where to start with pinpointing my problem? The reason I checked for codes is when I'm using my exhaust brake the TC always lockup in second. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't. On the times that it doesn't lock I can force lockup with my mystery switch.

Hey Names Corey, been coming to this site for a long while now and decided to finally join in with this "new to me" truck I've had for about 9 months. I've had a few 2nd gens and actually never had any problems until this one but Im wanting to get in back into shape and see how long it'll go. Ive read the forums long enough to know yall like the sigs filled out so got that squared away from the start. I'm needing some help guys since this is my first cummins to have problems with there are a few things im still not certain of and if you need to ask me some questions to help me out let me hear them. First off, when I first got the truck on a trade the PO "said" it was …

I got a small refund from Uncle Sam this week and I am planning on installing a mechanical fuel pump. My question is whether I should go with the Assassin or Fuel Boss--what is the good, the bad, and the ugly of each. I know these topics have been beat almost to death but if you can point me in a direction of an article that has already compared the two that would more than suffice. I have searched through the different forums but I was hoping for a little bit more. Thanks,

Ok, I my original transmission finally went out. So I replaced it with a Certified Transmission, the Road Ripper 2000. The uninstall and install of the new transmission went great. It shifts great and everything. The problem I am having is, I believe it is going into lock up too soon. When I am empty, and take off from a stop gentle, and gradually ease up to speed, sometimes it will lock up at 40 mph, which is no problem, but it dosent act like it wants to unlock when I give it a lot of gas. I have to put the pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there for about two seconds before it will finally unlock and I will have power. It unlocks fine when coming to a stop…

i apologize for starting a new thread on this beaten to death topic especially since i know the info i'm looking for is out there, ive read a few threads where moparman goes over a more foolproof diagnosis strategy for discerning between a dead pedal apps failure vs vp44 failure. after searching for the last hour and a half i can't find the threads or info i'm looking for. anyway my truck is 2002 ho 6 spd. 130k nv5600. edge jwa, with pressure gauge and egt installed and an analog fuel pressure gauge. ddrp mounted on frame producing 17psi at idle and no lower than 9-10psi at wide open towing heavy. ABOUT A YEAR AGO: so i'm going to paste some stu…

Hello All. I am relatively new to Cummins but have owned my 99 Dodge for a couple years. It has 265,000 miles on him. Everything is stock except the previous owner installed an edge EZ and I installed boost and an electronic fuel pressure gauges. When I installed the gauge last year I installed the t-fitting to avoid the hammer effect. I have a question. Here over the past couple weeks (it has been 0-20 F here) when I start up the truck in the AM the pressure will be in the single digits for about 5 seconds and then jump up to 13 or 14 psi. Do you think this is just because the diesel is cold, or is my lift pump about to quit? It is a stock LP and I plan on changi…

I am installing a new Edge Juice with Attitude in my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. The kit comes with a new Boost Elbow, but my turbo has the hard line between the tubo and the waste gate actuator. All it said in the manual is that on some trucks you can't install the elbow. What affect will this have? I read something in a thread about installing a turnbuckle on the WGA, but when I searched for more information, noting came up. I am assuming that you are installing it on the rod from the WGA to the WG and using the turnbuckle to adjust the psi the WG opens at. Is this worth doing? The truck is basically stock, BHAF and 4" exh but no other HP mods. Thanks for any help …
