The cup that the drivers side front spring sits in on the front axle is mostly gone... the attached bracket that anchors the link to the front sway bar is detached.I went by the Wheel & Brake shop... the owner put the truck up on the lift, went over the whole frame & rear axle. General rust but nothing else real bad. I like his throughness. These parts will have to be fabricated... he's going to get back to me. I am still happy with the work he did on the Cirus. Of course I hate paying but I lke things fixed so they stay fixed.

Ok gang...Time to pick your brain a bit. My 1996 dodge Ram 1500 has a CAD axle under it. This morning heading towards Donnelly, ID it was only 15*F and slick. So climbing Goose Creek grade I figured I'd lock the 4WD and be safe. Once it locked and the 4WD light came on it just whined the whole way. So Near the top I push the stick back 2WD and the CAD remain locked for a bit long but still whined... The POP! CAD released and whine is gone...I remember I checked the gear oil last month and it was full and clean and the Transfer case was full and clean too. So my thought is u-joints??? :shrug:CAD axle are new to me... Haven't played with them much yet...

What does everyone think of having a section for parts numbers for our trucks? Maybe a section for the engine, tranny, and drivelines. As each one of us buys a part we could add to the list and each of us would be giving back a little to the site. If I am for bringing this up then you can give me a .

Anyone know the torque spec for tie rod ends? You can grab a hold of the tie rod with your hand and flop the thing back and forth....not the normal kind of play I'm used to seeing, but I guess I should replace it...def feel it at the steering wheel. Probly go ahead and do the center/drag link also. I hate to get the parts at autozone....but they are open and got it in stock.

My drivers seat cushion is starting to crush on the outside edge. Having no running boards takes it toll. Does anyone know of a supplier that makes these.I haven't checked with Dodge yet. I thought I would see if someone else makes them as Dodge is not known for having reasonable prices.

http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/35-exterior/76-backup-lights So I was reading this article and was thinking of doing it. I had a few questions. First what did you put the light in? A tractor pod? How does it attach to the axle, and do they sell the holder at napa. Second set of questions is how did you wire in the switch? It was a bit confusing. Thanks --- Update to the previous post... I knew I should of reread it... I see to get the override switch to work you just bridge the reverse switch. so my next question is where is that?

I know this probably isn't the best place to post this, but I thought it would be noticed here more than the other conversation areas and it won't be there for long. (2 days) On Ebay a guy is selling a 2002 2500 with all the bells and whistles with 20,000 original miles. It is a truck that looks like the day it was bought and is like stepping back 10 years. I have nothing to do with the truck or the dealer selling it, but thought someone might find it interesting to see a really nice original 2nd gen truck. There are lots of pictures. If I were a rich man this truck would be in West Virginia... I don't know how to link to it but the ebay auction number is 1906243751…

Was looking for anyone in my area that would be willing to help me activate my high idle and change the tire size thing as well.Would be willing to pay for the trouble. Or if anyone trusts me enough, borrow theirs to do it?...I know, probably a long shot...

I'd like to ask the form if increasing the fuel supply line to 5/8's from tank pickup to L.P. to I.P., would reduce the starving fuel problem at higher RPM's? Would you replace the return Ln? has anyone done this? I know it won't cure it like a air dog sys. And what is available after market to rebuild/ replace tank pick up to 5/8's, and not drilling new holes in tank? I have liked the research done on this from torktek.com. Thans for lookin at it..

does anyone know what the torque spec is for the main hub nut that is on the front axle for the wheel bearing assembly? Also, might be helpful to know the spec for the 4 12point bolts that bolt in from behind and hold it on.I had the driver side seize up on me Friday night on the interstate. Yay! Not bad though..no one got hurt.

Hey guys, new to the site.I am having some issues with my electrical system and and getting really frustrated. Problem: After sitting for more than a few days battery is pretty much dead and truck wont start. After I bought it, I let it sit for like a month and then bam---nothing. So I figured bad batteries, I'd try to drive it more often. Its our 3 vehicle so I just was using it to head to the mtns to go snowboarding and to the beach (throw the surfboard in the back) and for camping --we have a cab-over shell on it. Anyways, I have the batteries checked---Autozone says one battery bad, Alt OK. I replace both batteries and cross my fingers. Starts great for about a week…

well i started my day with a call from work sayig take the day off. YIPPEEE working on my cummins all day:thumb1:. got the valve cover gaskets changed, oil changed, and the brakes bled.fired the truck up.....and shortly after i notice fuel dripping down the side of the tank, so i crawl under and look and sure enough at the top of the tank its dripping around the area of the HEAVILY rusted steel fuel line leaving the top of the tank.in my honest opinion both steel lines look to be in poor condition with flaking rust, which is ironic because theyre one of the only things rusty underneath of the whole truck.so what it comes down to.....--IS there a place to get aftermarket f…
