Anyone care to diagnose this click sound? All the controls on the steering wheel are working (cruise, horn).

Were rear disc brakes on the 2001.5 and 2002 trucks only available with all-wheel anti-lock brakes? Or were there rear disc trucks made with rear wheel anti-lock (RWAL) only? I'm wondering how folks handle the drum to disc axle swap in regards to ABS as it seems like most of the rear disc trucks I've seen have all-wheel anti-lock. Is it prudent to run rear discs with rear wheel anti-lock only? This situation might exist if putting a rear disc axle in something like a 1999 truck with RWAL rear drums.

  3. Hey thanks for your help, I finally got the bluetop gearbox installed and wow! what a difference. This truck drives so well now. Loving it. Minor issue though - I'm now getting a hum/whine and some steering wheel feedback and low speed turns with rpm ~1000-1300. > my suspicion: When bleeding the PS fluid BEFORE the gearbox install, I let the fluid run low and suspect i hurt my ps pump > steps taken: i bled system before installing the gearbox. followed the guide here for the 3rd gen to flush. installed gearbox and followed bluetop's guide after connecting lines to gearbox - lifted tires off ground, disabled fass…

  4. Hi! Finishing up the install of the Bluetop steering gear tonight and I'm second-guessing myself. How deep should the steering shaft (I think it's called) go onto the new gear box splined input? I attached two pics. first shows about the length of the gearbox input, and second is as far as I could shove the steering shaft onto that gearbox input spline. Does that look like a good depth? if not, any tricks for getting it on further? It's been a bit of a battle so far.

Hello. Checking to see if anyone has also experienced this. With engine running, attempt to turn headlights on and engine dies, as if it were a kill switch, and will not start. Some research suggested to remove park lamp fuse. It worked, but now no running lights except headlights. Brakes and hazards do work, but my concern is with tail/marker/license plate and front ambers. Can this be as easy as a bad ground or am I looking at a full ECM replacement again? Thanks , DRG

For those of you that did the mod what brand of circuit breaker did you use and have you had any problems with them. I am finishing off mine and also modding my travel trailer to use lithium batteries and wanted to use the same style so I can use it as a disconnect.

I’ll be finishing up installing my remote trans cooler over the weekend and I’d like to trigger the fan relay with the OD switch on the shifter. Is this possible, and if so where is the best place to tap my trigger wire? @IBMobile posted a diagram a while ago showing the circuitry, wiring, and fuses between the PCM and the shifter button (switch) that command OD on/off but I don’t understand it well enough to start cutting wires yet. His diagram shows fuse #14 powers the OD on/off light, so can I tap it there? And where is fuse #14 actually located? I’d tap into the wiring from the on/off button on the shifter, but it’s a momentary switch so I don’t think I can do that w…

Trying to find doors for these things is about damn impossible where I am without rust. I found a 1999 1500 ext cab with manual doors. Would these work in my 02 ext cab. I have my old panels and wiring still. Would the mirrors mountains be the same aswell?

  10. Ok, I've had a this issue before but very random and not very often at all. Yesterday I was on the highway at 60-70 mph and hit a bridge transition and it went nuts! Again less than a mile or two later. With traffic behind me I had to smash the brakes down to 25mph to get it to stop. Luckily no one rear ended me! I absolutely have to get this sorted out! I replaced the track bar approximately a year to year and a half ago. It was a lower priced one from Rock Auto. I have replaced the left outer tie rod as well. I have read that the track bar is usually to blame but I want to be 100% sure it is fixed for good this time. Any advise or guidance here wou…

So Christmas eve I was forced to swap my drovers door. Seemed like an opertune time to pull the trigger on swapping to power windows. I've been told that they are plug and play with non power trucks. I'm hoping that I just have the wrong door harness and it's a simple fix. Both door side harnesses have two plugs while my truck only has a single. I know that both donor harnesses had the premium sound system and I assume that's the extra plug. Any help would be nice. I have casually searched previous posts without any luck.

  12. Hello all! Back again and I am trying to get opinions on what brand ball joints to use. Was gonna try proforged, believe they have a good warranty although they are 60 bucks per... Also am scared for any ball joint I end up going with being loose in the knuckle due to it being 20 years old etc.. And I can't afford having the truck down at my friend's to pull one out and measure the diameter. Now for control arms, I've heard talk of getting adjustable so you can improve the geometry as best as possible. Currently I believe I have stockers as well as a leveling kit and I get creeks and noises when going over bumps. I was going to just replace the bu…

  13. So after I was T boned Christmas eve and my drivers door pushed in. I finally got my replacement door on after doing the inner and outer rocker and some rust repair. Now my door won't latch tight. I adjusted the striker as far in as it will go, I even changed the latch assembly. But I can not get the door to latch tightly, it just rattles because it acts like the latch is only tripped part way. I'm at my wits end. I've been without my main truck since Christmas because the person who hit me didn't have insurance and my carrier drug their feet getting an adjuster out....

Pulled my box off for an easier install for the Fass. Does this look like an in tank pump retrofit? Does anyone also know what this port should be connected to? Is it just a breather ?

Short version: Didnt drive the truck for a bit, jumped the truck, got it started. Drove it for a bit, then parked it. checked to see it would fire again after shutting it off, thought the wait to start didnt show up. next morning, slow crank. attempted to jump the truck, didnt fire off. swapped batteries now i have no CCD bus and no wait to start. i also attempted to jump the truck with the Quad hooked up the second time.. Long version: Last weekend (I think) I tried jump starting my truck. Havent started it since like late October. Finally got around to trying to get it started. Unhooked the Quad, put one of those lithium jump packs on, got it fired up. Let …

I never thought installing a brake booster, master cylinder and all four brake calipers could disable a truck for three days. So I installed everything and just shortly afterwards the ABS light and Brake light come on brakes start dragging. I bleed the brakes so much I ruined the bleeder seats. Pulling my hair out I just didnt get it. This morning I go and talk to a master Dodge mechanic and he knew exactly what was up. He had me put two 3/8 nuts between the master cylinder and the brake booster and go drive it. Sure nuff 300 yards down the road the brake light goes off the ABS light went off brakes stop dragging and everything is back to normal. The company I bought th…

Are there any reputable made grill guards out there or are they all about the same? The 4 tabs where it bolts together are broke and its only a matter of time before it gets bad. Thanks

As the title states, I tried some LED headlights. I did a little research on what kind of LED will work in a housing designed for halogen bulbs. Long story short these are the type of bulb to use. According to what I read and the videos I watched the placement of the LED chips is important. I bought these bulbs off of Amazon for $39/pair. They're plug and play. Simple as changing a headlight bulb.lol So far I am happy with the results. I only had the opportunity to drive the truck to work at 3am to test. I believe I need to adjust them down. I didn't get flashed but there were only a few other cars on the road. Pic is a bit fuzzy but you can see …

Has anyone tried this? I’ve gotten spoiled by the heated steering wheel in my other vehicles, thought it might be worth trying this. I can see this seemingly simple install turning into a days long mess with an airbag exploding in my face. https://www.ebay.com/itm/385302567206?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=WFiKetqqRxu&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Ipl8lieISy-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
