Has anyone replaced the seat cushion in their truck? Mine is pretty wore out, but I hate to spend the $125 just to realize that I don't have the right skills or tools to replace it. https://www.genosgarage.com/product/dodge-ram-replacement-driver-seat-cushion-gg-sc9801/new-products

Good evening folks! So for a good while now my air conditioner has not been blowing cold at all. Almost lukewarm. Most folks say it needs a Freon recharge which is available at my local parts house. My concern is that if it needs recharged to blow cold again does that not mean that it is leaking out somewhere? I would like a step by step guide to recharging and testing for leaks if y’all would be so kind. Thanks!

Hey Guys I am new to the forum, and I am trying to learn all I can about taking care of my Dodge Ram CTD. I am not really much of a mechanic, but I am trying to expand my horizons with this truck. I was wondering if somebody can tell me the easiest way to change out my brake fluid. I just got this truck, and I really don't know when it was done last. I don't want to get air in the system and have to deal with that. Any recommendations on fluids and change intervals would be great. Thanks! Also I am looking for a hood to replace my damaged one.

Ok so heres my plan to make life easier, I'm just needing advice from someone who has done this, or knows anything about wiring because I surely dont :cool:I bought a GPS with a window mount the other day, and having cords draped across my radio controls is possibly the worst thing to put me into OCD mode... So, I came up with a plan.I am wanting to wire up another 12v power outlet under the dash above the pedals somewhere out of the way. I want this power outlet to be switched, (when I turn my key on, the power comes on, when I turn key off the power goes off) just like the 12v power outlet beside the ashtray on our 2nd gen trucks. Can anyone explain to me step by step wh…

Ok everyone I have the parts coming in Today and Tomorrow to replace my Heater Core. I am also going to swap out my Evap and Blower motor while I have the HVAC Box out. To top it all off I have needed to replace my Dash for awhile now so one is on the way from LMC Truck and that will be going in as well. Mike I have seen your video on You Tube and it breaks things down pretty well for the HVAC Box. If there are any little tid bits or pieces of advice anyone has please share them with me. I will write up a synopsis of how the job went when I am finished. Thanks Probably should have put this in 2nd Gen Non Powertrain Related if someone can move this that w…

Am I the only one with sagging front doors? I put new hinges in two years ago and they have drooped down again! This then rubs the paint off of my rocker panel causing rust. I now have spacers in the bottom drivers hinge to push the tail corner up lasted for awhile and now it still took paint off. the passenger side needs more significant repairs but I want to get some opinions first I'm trying to get pix the images were to big

Hello. Looking to tighten up the front end on my 01' with 225k due to steering wheel play and a little slop. Question I have, do you guys recommend replacing the pitman arm, tie rod, steering damper, track bar, control arms, etc or should I just replace the bushings and any worn out parts? Trying to not break the bank but at the same time I dont want to end up doing the work only to find all new parts were a better route for this repair...Thanks!

Like the title says, is there a foolproof way to tell if I need a heater treaters? I looked at the blend door motor yesterday, it does move when the temp knob is turned but I can't really tell if the door is moving at the same rate. Am I going to have to take the motor off and remove the little piece just to see if it's cracked? I'm asking because I like some others on here have heat, it's just not as hot as it should be at the vent. A year or so ago I replaced the heater core and a/c coil and inspected the door seals. That should all be good. Seals were in good shape and everything seemed fine. Since then (and before) I just don't get piping hot air coming o…

So I'm out on a road trip and last night when I turned my lights on the brights never came on, the bright is illuminated on the dash but no headlights, I have just recently upgraded to the dual sport headlight from DAP, and before I left I also installed the relay wire harness kit from DAP, and they were all working fine for the last week or so. I still got the dim side but no brights. I checked fuses and relays and are still good, I am wondering if it's in the mfs switch on column or light switch on dash, Any ideas what to check, I'm out on a road trip so kind of limited to what I can do.

I need to replace my headlights as I have polished them far to many times and would like some real world experience from people that have used them. I am in a budget but don't want the cheapest out there. I have about 250 buck to blow and don't want to do it twice. What I have decided on is the clear lens euro style with halogens. I have spent far to much time reading forums and searching the internet and it is just overwhelming . The biggest deal is that they need to be adjustable from the front and if two piece where the adjuster moves only the headlight is any better then one piece. I don't drive my beloved truck at night very often because I live in a high deer popu…

After draining, flushing and replacing water pump and t-stat I'm having some really weird temp issues. While sitting at a stoplight it reads 180, when I start driving it climbs to around 190 and then cools off again at the next light is it possible there is air trapped somewhere in the system. I followed the instructions in the article by moparman filling the block before installing the t-stat then filling the system via the radiator filler neck. How can I get it to burp the air out if that's the case.

Does anyone know if my 01 may have came factory with keyless entry? I have purchased the key fobs, however my local mopar dealer says that my 01 didn’t come factory with keyless and I would have to buy an add on through their parts department.

So, I took the truck to a shop this morning with the intention of achieving the usual alignment interval... I get a call about a 1/2 hour or so before work, that they were unable to perform an alignment on my truck. What? Bullhonky! So I had him gather info. on what was going on. 1. RH outer tie rod completely shot. 2. Steering stabilizer done for 3. Steering gearbox sloppy I also asked them to rotate my tires and they said it was done.... Huh, well, little did they realize, my front wheels are discolored from the brake dust. When I got there, they were still in front! grr... They also told me my front outer brake pads were almost worn down to nothing?! …

I have a 2002 Dodge 2500 that a couple of days ago started giving me trouble. When you go to start the truck after the "wait to start" light goes out you get nothing, no clicking noise or anything, just dead like the lights were left on and drained the batteries. Try and start it 3 or 4 times and bingo it starts up like nothing was ever wrong. The bad thing is it doesn't do it every time. Both batteries were new 3/14/08The truck has no codesI'm going to clean the battery and starter connections, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue before. Thanks Dwayne

Ok Gang... I have had enough of my truck need constant counter-steering to the left it get back enough I'm starting to have problem hold it straight. I've got 183K miles on the clock and nothing but front axle bearing have been done. Anyone got sure fire ways of inspection of the ball joints and tie rod ends to tell if they need replacing. I know I could look in the Dodge FSM but I rather hear from all of you that have done axle work and what to look for. I can say my tires are still wearing good and straight no feathering or tappering of the tread. I'm going to jack up the nose of the truck and take a peek and see what I can find...

Not sure if this is actually my fault but upon my steering gear install one of the frame brace/ Sway bar bracket bolts stripped out. Turn out theyre is a nut inside the frame rail that is stripped and spinning out. Now what the heck do I do? I can see know possible way of getting another but in without cutting into the frame and that’s not what I want to do? Any suggestions? I’m worried about the sway bar flying off at some point becuase of only one bolt on the drivers side holding it up.

I gave up at 335k miles. I was notcing more cupping of the shoulders of the tires from a possible toe issue (slack in the tie rod ends). I got me the part tonight and tomorrow I'll be installing fresh steering parts under the front of the truck. Funny part is it still steers tight and straight its the cupping of the shoulders of the tires that's bugging me. 335k miles I'm sure there is a bit a slack in the tie rod ends and could be toeing in on itself creating the issue on the tires.
