I have the picture of the cummins engine.Next to the factory fuel filter it has two sets of wires out of the harness. One is the fuel heater and one is the water in fuel.Is the one that is the "thick" wire the fuel heater. It looks like 12 gauge wire? The clips look the same.My factory fuel filter is long gone and i have forgot whats what.Thanks. ---------- Post added at 07:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:52 AM ---------- a fresh look this morning the clips are different. The fuel heater should be the 12 gauge wire.I cant see that 16 gauge doing big work like heating fuel.

UPS truck arrives daily. Wifee asked if I bought out the internet? Well, a few of them were Christmas presents (outgoing). The rest were for my CTD. She knows I bought some stuff for the truck. I'm taking advantage of all those Christmas Specials & free shipping... I should go put a big bow on it. Latest was used AirDog system... looks like big line kit & fittings. I'll explore the box after the holiday (if I can contain myself).

Greetings! I know this has been discussed several times here - I have read all that I can find, but didn't find the answer to my question. My ball joints are worn out, and I would like to convert to a T steering setup. I know plenty of guys have said their Y steering is just fine if setup properly with no lift or big/wide tires. I have a lift and big/wide tires. According to what I have read, the newer style T setup will bolt on, but the taper is different in the knuckles and the pitman arm. I have read there is an HD T setup for 98-99 trucks that will bolt in and have the correct taper, but I cannot find a complete setup like has been mentioned here before. Does anyone k…

Who's the audio specialist? So my stereo speakers started months ago cutting out intermittently sometimes the right sometimes the left sometimes the little tweeter in the A post. Back always worked. But now I'm down to just having a left door speaker. Question is it the stereo, speakers or amplifiers hooked to the speakers? Has anyone had this problem? I thought I'd put in a new stereo but then it had no sound then I found out about the whole amplifier thing powering up I don't want to wire it up correctly if the amps are bad in the first place. So now I'm back trying to figure out what's not working in the first place.

  5. Had a fun drive into work this evening. I have about an hour commute and was almost at work and my pedal went squishy. I pulled over and found that my front drivers side soft brake line had worn through and burst. It looks like it is rubbing on the tire when at full lock turn. I have 3rd gen rims and 265/70/r17 wheels on (and tame tires too, not large knobbies). Does anyone know why this would have been happening? It looks like its happening on the passenger side too, but not as bad. I'm not looking forward to trying to fix this, but I'm also concerned that this would have happened and how to prevent it from happening again. Being new years eve, it was …

So, now that I know the module is for the ABS on the truck...I'd really like to hear your thoughts on how well it works before I go through the exercise of finding a way to hook it back up or look for an alternate solution? I remember it was not all that great on my '93 Pontiac compared to more modern versions.

I am losing brake fluid on my 99 Ram 3500 Dually and I noticed there is brake fluid running down the side of the fuel tank. Is there a hard line in the frame rail there? Do I have to drop the tank to fix it? Can it be routed a different way? The tank is plum full, so I hope I don't have to drop it!

Ok guys here we go. My truck is a 2000 2500 w/ 24v cummins and here is my problem. I bought the truck back in September 15 and has run like a top up until now. I am driving to work this morning and my voltage dropped out and dash light can on saying "check gauges". My immediate thought was ok I just lost the alternator no big deal. Pulled it off and went to Napa, had it tested before I bought a new one and surprisingly it tested OK. Bought a new one anyway for good measure and had it tested before I walked out of the store, also had both my batteries load tested while I was there and they check out. Get back to work and throw the new alternator on, drive it fo…

I replaced my ac low side valve core with this part # MT0064-4 from autozone. It leaks. Is there somewhere I can get the right replacement? I went to napa and the man went through a drawer full of them and came up with this one. It leaks too. I am sick of working on this a/c system. Have you ever heard of a piercing tool not working. I have one, can tap is not letting fluid out. I have a side can tap on the way, should be here tomorrow. Damdest thing I have ever seen!

Ohh boy i started a can of worms with this title. But to me i have finally accidentally made my truck drive better to me then some newer cars feel to me. Personal opinion i guess. But non the less i think it is pretty good and i would rather drive it then the recent new cars i have drove. I can literally lay my wrist on the steering wheel and drive down the rough uneven dished roads we have around here without any problem or feel like i need to grip the steering wheel. I hope i can help someone else with what i have learned. This was done on a 94-99 truck. For 2000+ trucks instead of bushings you will probably need offset ball joints or maybe someone makes a adjustab…

Recently picked up a 1999 Dodge 5.9L Turbo Dually. Good friend retiring gave me a great deal. It has 350k miles on it and as far as I know no lift pump, which I just learned about here when I signed up and I don't recall him saying anything about 2cycle which I learned here on my first day to. I know how to do quite a bit with engines of all sorts but I was wondering If I should or shouldn't have a garage do the 170k maintenance recommended i.e the trans work. I have a check engine light on which the said is the APPS. I have the Haynes and changing it out seem straight forward enough???Also ABS light comes on intermittently and I can see I need new shocks. No questio…

The decal between the side glass and the quad cab glass on my truck is peeling. I'm thinking of peeling it off, sanding it and just painting it black. Anyone have a better idea? It looks like crap. You can buy the replacement decal's from Dodge but it's around 100.00 basically for two strips of black vinyl decal. I'll go ahead and take that option off the table. They've lost their minds.

There was some talk on here about window deflectors a while ago. My B day is coming up and I thought I would put it on my wish list. Is there a brand or style that is better than others? What are your recommendations?

I plan to paint my rocker panels black on white. What do you guys do with the area that you can see through the crack in the bottom of the door? Some paint worn off from foot drag over while entering or exiting the truck. So needs something. Mask off and paint into the door opening an inch or so? What is done with factory two tone paint jobs? Picture maybe with door open would be awesome. Plan on using black hammered finish Hammerite. Tough as nails. Has glass particles in it.

I've owned my truck for a couple months now. Ever since I owned it, the red BRAKE light has flashed in a timed manner repeatedly until I release the parking brake. One time sitting on a hill with the tailgate facing downhill, I parked in neutral, set the brake and the truck slowly started creeping backwards. Only happened once, and I park on that same hill all the time at my moms house. Since then I'm always very cautious to make sure my wheel is turned sharply incase the brake would let go. However, just recently, the blinking light continues to stay on and blink while driving. Now I've never worked on brakes ever, so I'm unfamiliar with them, but I've learned the blinki…

Working on my rear brakes this evening I discovered an unfortunate problem - my pass. side axle seal is done for. There's a nice nasty coating of oil on the inside of the drum, and the snout of the axle is covered in greasy black brake dust. I've never had an axle out of this truck before, but we rebuilt the diff in my brother-in-law's '05 Chevy 2500 (AAM axle) a couple months ago, so it's not exactly foreign ground for me... but that said, is there anything I need to look out for? I know I need to get a gasket for the axle plate, but what other parts (besides obviously the new seal) do I need to get?
