Has anyone rebuilt one? I would like to try to rebuild mine so I have been on the interwebbs looking for parts. Is it necessary to replace the rectifier? I feel like I should because I am in there anyway? Right? Anyway, I have found parts on Larry B's but their recitifier is out of stock and it is $40 more than other places I have found. This is what I am looking at, any thoughts? http://www.aspwholesale.com/rectifier-nd-p1375.html http://www.aspwholesale.com/repair-kit-nd-er/if-136a-p6046.html

Hello, i have a 1997 ram 3500 Laramie plus package. So I have the tan leather interior with wood grain which I'm told is very rare for a 12v truck. I found a truck at a local junk yard that is a 1997 that has factory keyless entry and I was wondering if anyone ever added factory keyless entry to their truck or if someone has a wiring diagram of how the keyless entry is wired. I basically want factory keyless or no keyless entry. I'm not really into the aftermarket ones, it might be the easier route but that not what I want.

I posted my concern regarding my FP gauge on the CF a week or two ago... thinking maybe my lift pump was the issue. KATOOM indicated that gauge may not be working correctly and suggested I contact ISSPRO. I posted in their sponsor's forum but no response. I just read another post regarding the FP gauge when the truck is turned off... whether it should or shouldn't drop to zero.. and the consensus is yes it should. I just checked mine and it does not drop when I shut down. Here's a video of a first start this morning. Shows the pressure at 16 from last night.. what happens when I turn the key (which was my intitial concern a couple weeks ago.. no build in p…

Well I search around the interwebs and looks like no one offers an after make underwear storage. Actually, du-ha states it makes one that fits 02-08 or something like that but that doesn't make sense given the generation changes. The other option is the OEM one, which seem nearly impossible to find. Well the 02 doesn't have the under seat storage but luckily, the 99 does. I briefly tried swapping but it seems like I'll have to swap the entire rear seat because the bracket for the storage bin is welded to the seat frame. Has anyone swapped one or added an OEM? I suppose fabbing up some brackets isn't completely out of the picture either.

Hello Everyone, The factory battery hold-downs had become dilapidated, so in lieu so spending $60/side my friend & I modded/cleaned up the factor set. The steps/repairs we performed are listed below along with the attached photos of the before/after. Total time invested was about two hours and all of the parts/equipment we already had in the shop. I know the paint job will get some comments, so to head those off – we ran out of black so to avoid surface rusting we used brown. Once the weather warms or I build a small paint cure box, I plan to wire wheel to repaint black. Hold Down Bolt Repair/Mods – Stock had rounded bolt heads Cleaned up/ground a…

Hi.. I have factory fog lights installed on my truck that didn't have em. I have them wired to a toggle. I'd like to have them wired to my headlight switch if it's not too complicated. It seems I have a connector under the radiator that I'm guessing would go to the fogs. Is this correct? And.. I would need the push/pull switch. If I got one... would it be plug and play? What's involved in swapping the switches.. do I need to dismantle the entire dash? Would I need a harness and switch specific to my year? I'm adding another set of fogs to the front and lights to the back and would like to keep toggle switches to a minimum. Thanks in advance...

So, I got 35in tire probs (yea boohoo I know) which I love the look of, but hate the aftermath aka crap all over the truck! Don't get me wrong, it definitely ups my street cred and makes me look like I'm a total mudder off roader, but I'd rather actually go do that purposely instead! Anyways, I have a good 3-5in (just from memory and eyeballing) of tire hanging outside of my fender. I'm not a fan of flares so that's out of the question. I've seen the duraflaps, proflaps and all the other pretty expensive ones. Anyone have any other ideas? Or can post pics of their home made flaps? Oh and also...

Ok I posted a while back about some issues I was having with the hydroboost system. The power steering pump went out and I replaced it. Then the hydroboost started making lots of noise, and shuddering when the brakes were applied. I would lose power steering altogether at an idle, but all this only happened after about 5 minutes of driving. Today I finally broke down and swapped the hydroboost I still have the same problems.... I'm at my wits end here wit this thing! I don't know what else to do. Btw it an 01 2wd.

This is my 1st 2nd gen with heated seats. The drivers seat doesnt work. I notice the drivers switch in the dash doesnt light up like the working one on passengers side. If i recall when you try to push it it flashs but dont quote me only tried that once lol. Is it simply the switch fubar ? Or could the switch be ok but something deeper ? I don't have access to a switch to try so id be buying a switch. Thought I'd ask before pulling the trigger on a switch. Thanks

Let me say yesterday I got a good scare. Travelled up to McCall, ID to do my usual shopping. I normally take the back road around McCall to the store. When I started to approach the light I was easing into the brakes and all of a sudden the ABS is back pumping me not allowing to even stop. I was saying my prayers before I rear ended the car ahead of me. Then at the last 5 MPH of coasting the ABS tripped the light and brakes hit NOW. Missed the car ahead of me by inches. Now let me say I've replace all 3 speed sensors and been seeing the random light now and then. I've even tried with no shims in the front and now back to 1 and 1 in the front and the lights stay out for th…

My truck has been feeling unstable lately when hitting bumps. It seems to sway left and right easily in a quick jerking motion. My end links are definitely worm and was wondering if this could be the sole cause of the issue? Truck has new Bilstien 5100's, DOR track bar with no play, ball joints don't have play, unit bearings don't have play, and all steering linkages are new and have no play.

Looking for recommendations on the easiest/best way to clean up the engine bay of our trucks? I'd like to get things looking as new and shiney as possible but I've never do it before so not sure what all the prep to keep water out of, or anything else that should be done before I start spraying things down. Any good cleaners or degreasers? It'd be really nice to clean up all the mess from the crankcase vent, and then do the vent mod and be done with it for good!

My fiberglass camper dripped Gelcoat residue all over the hood of my Black 2nd Gen nd won't come out of the paint. So Off I go to get Line X premium applied. Line X dealer wants me to remove the hood but I'm concerned how to remove the hood and not cause a crease when removing. Do you guys remove the front two bolts off first with a temporary board supporting the hood? I can see it maybe lowering just a bit while unbolting and causing a wrinkle. Do you loosen all 4 bolts first while supported and then proceed? Thanks a bunch for any thoughts.

I've been keeping my eye on this hitch for a while to replace the current ball in my be. The set up I have now leaves the ball permanently in the way and I have always hoped to get a turn over ball. Any who...I was scrolling through Amazon today and found the one I need for $220, regular $450ish. I pulled the trigger, hopefully it will work out alright. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007F9FIUG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Evening Gals and Gents, Having Issues with my Scangauge. It doesn't report load(LOD) correctly. It's showing 0 LOD at idle. This results in 0.0 GPH at idle. I have contacted Scangauge and am currently emailing with them to hopefully find the problem. For those of you with a Scangauge what do you show for GPH and LOD at idle? How is LOAD calculated? I can even see 0 LOD when TPS is greater than 0. I found this out while coasting downhill in neutral and slowly pressing throtle down. I do have codes stored: 0622, 0743, 1595, 1765 I believe most of those codes were related to the Mystery Switch Lockup control Other Known Proble…

Hey Gang... I figured I would share my attempt at fixing my electric driver seat on my 1996 Dodge Ram. Now when I started the motor wouldn't even turn. So I verified the power was coming from the switch. Rock the switch one way you got power and rock it the other and power again but reversed polarity which is correct. No I grabbed a Allen socket and turned the motor a bit by had and it got loosen up. Then I can hit the switch and the motor turns for a short time binds up. (sigh) something is wrong in the gears. So after slowing ratching the motor around I was able to get the seat high enough to pull the 4 bolts in the seat bottom and just lay in the back seat are…

Consider this a good tech reference, I have found it really useful for some of the odder items that I have needed to find over the years for different projects and whatnot. Not really directly Cummins or Ram related, but great stuff anyway. Billavista is a wizard from Canada and RCAF officer who has spent the past 20 years or so posting this stuff on Pirate4x4. Now, he has his own site. Below are my favorite and most useful articles that you guys might like to peruse. When the guy says Bible, he means it. His articles are very very through and have lots of great pictures. Gear Setup Bible http://www.billavista.com/tech/Articles/Gear_Setup_Bible/ind…
