I came across this and I think everyone should see it just in case some people are unaware of the effects of submerging their axle. I know a lot of people just worry about the engine sucking in water but the axle can get filled with mud/water as well. Not as catastrophic as the engine seizing but definitely something to be aware of if you happen to submerge the axle. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/94-98-powertrain/337867-what-your-diff-oil-should-not-look-like.html

Fellas, I bought an 01 2wd and parted it out for the interior (leather) and I am putting it in my 02. It had an overhead console and I removed the wiring harness from it today and saw the wiring harness coming from where the temp sensor is mounted, comes back and ties into the main wiring harness, not just plugged in like I had hoped it would. Has anyone ever added the overhead console and had the same issue and could tell me what you did? Also the junker had remote door locks, just wondering if it's just a matter of plugging them into the harness in the door and they'll operate, or a different harness all together going into the main? :whistle:Would like to know before I…

Hey guys, I have installed the new Quadzilla high idle box (3 cyl/6cyl) sold by DieselAutoPower Mike developed years ago. When I hook it up as it says (IAT sensor and Coolant Temp sensor) I get the following codes and the unit does not work. I have verified both sensors are in fact working as well as the grid heater relays are both operational. When connecting them back to factory configuration and clearing codes, those codes do not reappear and everything functions normally with no further codes being thrown. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Truck is programmed with a Smarty S03, 3 cylinder idle is active and does work properly…

I got creative. I figured out a spot for my LG G4 cell phone. This happens to be a multifunction device being it's my MP3 player, cellphone, and my Quadzilla display. I've been laying it on my console most of the time. I got tried of that, dog laying across it, sliding off on the floor, trying to answer the phone, etc. Being the phone is jacked into the stereo I can listen to my MP3's through the stereo and if a call comes I can answer the phone call and its completely hands free (still legal). So I found a piece of scrap aluminum sign and start cutting, bending, notching, etc... This is what I came up with... It sits right in my ashtray. …

From what I'm reading a BHAF really doesn't give any advantage unless your truck has mods to support it, i.e. more fuel, etc. My plan was to go with a turbo back, 4'" exhaust and a BHAF. I mean it just makes good sense to me that it would be advantageoiuos for the truck to breathe better. Other than hearing the turbo whine (which I really don't care anything about) is there really no reason to do it if I don't have any mods?

Today while driving my ABS & Brake light both came on. It stayed on until I shut the truck off for a little bit. I started it back up & started driving no lights, then all at once they're back on. Turn the truck off, start back driving same deal. Whats going on and what do I do to fix it. Brakes still seem good.

Somewhat new to the Dodge so here goes. I thought my steering gear was getting some slack in it and had a helper look it over last night. I thought that I needed to adjust the adjustment screw some but after looking it over it looks like the movement is in the steering gear output shaft, not the gear adjustment. I know part of my issue is the 31" tires. I have a new alignment after upgrading to the '09 steering mod, checking the ball joints. Everything seems tight except for the movement in the output shaft. It acts like the bearings, if there are any, are out. My questions are, 1) Is this normal? 2) Is this why the steering brace/support is installed? 3) If I do instal…

I plan on doing something in the spring with my truck to keep the rear from sagging when I tow my gooseneck but i'm undecided to do springs or airbags. I was wondering if anyone on here using airbags has the plastic inner fenders in the wheelwells of their box. I don't want to buy a set to find out I can't use the inner fenders liner.

Being an old truck naturally I've got headliner sag and the back was black due to third brake light leakage. Now that I've got it out after finding and fixing the light leak I want to recover the liner. Id like to do charcoal to match interior but I think I'll stick with tan to match the other roof parts. I can get the material on ebay but there's a few of that light tan and I'm not quite sure what exactly it is. Computer doesn't always show color shades exactly right either. Does anybody have any info or links to the exact color to match the visors and overhead compartment

I use my truck primarily for hauling the rv and short runs to town. Anyway it's not often enough to keep the batteries fully charged. Where would you hook up a switch to stop the battery discharge when the truck is stored?TIA

Current shocks are extremely bouncy and shakey on any terrain and need to be replaced. NAPA has Ranchos buy 4 for the price of 3. For a mostly street driven truck, get the Rancho RS5000s? Budget friendly, do the job? Any positive reviews?

Might as well get the embarrassing part out of the way first, I tried to take a shortcut while wiring up my new radio and majorly messed up. While hooking up the steering wheel control adaptor I grounded what I assumed was just one of the two wires going to the steering wheel buttons. You know what they say about assumptions. What I actually grounded was the positive side of the CCD circuit. When I turned the key on I got the no bus message on the odometer along with the other symptoms that come with that, but the truck did start. Naturally I put all of the wiring back the way it was, but now the truck only cranks but never fires. So I can either have a running truck with…

Use a BIG 3 jaw puller and then whacked it with a BFH. They were stuck on very tight. I don't know a better way than that. Hopefully with replacing the joints with greasable ones they won't need replaced for a long time. Or... Loosen the 4 bolts the thread a couple in part way and put and socket and extention on them and turn the wheel left or right and jam the extention into the axle and it should push them out......do each side a bit at a time and be sure to anti sieze the hub when replacing
