99 2nd gen 2wd dually. 365k miles. Bonestock besides 4" straightpipe, S&B Intake, and quadzilla adrenaline V2. In the video, I'm running the "stock injector race tune" from me78569 that i downloaded from here. Turned all the way up to 5: Im maxing out at 19psi of boost. My fuel pressure sporadically spikes down to 7psi. And the truck doesnt blow any smoke (not that I care, just concerned it's running lean because i feel like it should be fueling for 35-40psi from what I've read) Any idea what's wrong? MAP sensor? It acts like this even in the default power levels, cranked up to 11. No CEL, but I am getting a p1693 code on my CTS2 moni…

I am going to install a fuel psi gauge. I have a banjo/snubber bolt that goes in to the vp. I will hook my steel braided line to that and to the gauge. No isolator. How does this sound for a set- up?Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2

This is my first post, since I found tons of great info and knowledgeable people on here figured I should join the fun. I got a 98.5 24v going to be heading on a 400 mile drive, half of the drive will include steep terrain. I would like some guidance on timing and mpg. I see lots of different mpg tunes here but do not know which is right for me. Just trying to run the most timing with minimal risk of popping the head gasket. I do not have head studs nor have I retorqued the stock bolts. Mods are quad adrenaline, rv275, cold air and 4” straight, 6” lift with 22.5 wheels and 37s (dually). Also has stock hx35, airdog, and a southbend to transfer all that extra power. If req…

Looking at a new manifold. It's between the pdi or dps. Pdi seems to be way good. Dps haven't heard to much from them what I have it's been good. About a $300 difference. I don't care for bd or ats or afe. Steed speed is another I found but they just seem like they offer a good warranty that's it.

I know.. I know... Its an old question, but I think I already know the answer, I just need to confirm. My truck has everything in my sig. I have an Edge JWA in the mail, so the Power Puck will be coming off. Would it be a safe guess to assume my truck should be in the 350hp/750fr lbs range, or would it be more like the 400/800 range?

Some how I’ve made 189K miles on the stock pump, but know I’m on borrowed time. So, I’m trying to decide between a Fuel Boss or Airdog 2 4g 165 lift pump. I can see benefits for both and would appreciate some insight. My truck is currently stock and don’t see heavy modifications. I do haul with it: stock, boats and wood. Currently it’s my main rig and mostly just getting around. Thanks, JT

I'm sure everyone here knows what a CAI (Cold Air Intake) is... designed to draw cooler outside air into the engine instead of warm / hot underhood air. This is argueably desireable in summer when the under hood temp climbs outta sight. These thoughts carry over from our experience with gassers and I'm not at all sure they directly apply to a compression fired engine (diesel)... especially a turbo-charged intercooled diesel. Any rate the OEM air box is plumbed into the fender which draws cold air from behind the headlight... Atmittedly not a huge passageway but a CAI. Just a general reminder, that diesels "fire" from the heat of compression. A turbo adds tempera…

I've got a 2013 Rzr S LE , I'm thinking with fluids etc 1500lbs or less, I normally tow it behind my pickup on a 6x10 trailer. Heading down to Pocahontas for the 4th of July weekend ( which is approx 520 mile drive ) and wonder if it would be better to just put it in the back of my truck. Looking at safety issues as well as fuel economy. Truck is a 97 Dodge 2500 4x4 12 valve diesel with an 8 foot bed. It has helper springs and Timbrens. The truck... http://www.rzrforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=77849&d=1372129755

I am wondering for us that live in more moderate climates if the high idle kits are worth doing? Not exactly sure if they are for everyone or just those who live in cold areas? Will the mileage feature work for all climates too?

Been driving around for the past couple months or more with a boost leak. Got a couple weeks off between and dug into it. Put my test cap on and got the soapy water out. Found a good size leak on the upper clamp on the i take horn. No problem just tightened the clamp up. Start hosing the other and nothing. Started spraying the intake cover on the head and when the soapy water hit around #4 it looked like Lawrence Welk has having a bubble party. What I hoped was going to be a 1 hour fix went out the window. I look down between the head and the plate on the intake and I can see the gasket pushed out. Took everything off and find this. Looks like the gasket sepera…

Now that I have money for once I am going to change out everything. I want to use the best there is. I am putting valvoline premium blue in the engine but for the trans I am debating redline/dodge dealer gold. For the axle I have no clue what is good. I am going to have to do an engine flush and change out the antifreeze and maybe drill a hole in that thermostat like I keep seeing. I will make a writeup on that since there is a question on flushing a 12V. So what do you guys think I should use? I do have one preference, it can't be amsoil

Was wondering, we have list's and charts for just about everything for our trucks, but do we have a list of recommended/top/best fluids or favorites that everyone uses? It could be anything from oil, power steering, trans fluid to windshield washer fluid! I was just wondering what everyone liked to use so looked for a list, couldn't find one so thought maybe it'd be a good thing to have!

Ok guys could use some input. My truck is y2k 24v auto with a fass 95 lift pump and an reman vp44. If I parked it up hill it has to be reprimed in the morning . (Starter bump type) I put in a check valve on the discharge side of the lift pump by the tank which solved the priming/drain back issue, but I don't know why the fuel was draining back. I have no leaks and no smell and run 14-16 psi on the fp gauge. When the truck is at lower rpms under load light or heavy I can feel a little bit of surging like a miss. All of the return lines seals have been replaced already . If there's is a leak how can I find it and could it be in the injector pump check valve. Thanks for t…

I've been running the Daily tune from the tune repository here with a few adjustments but I'm not sure if ive helped or hurt the performance. I have also switched to a "Daily" tune that i wrote based off of the Daily tune in the repository. My issue seems to be I cannot get the turbo to light well and egts cruising 65-70 are 1000* or more. Cruising 65-70 I'm around 1800 rpms with 0-2psi of boost. If I roll into the throttle and try to pass or accelerate it will skyrocket to 1500*. But i have no real excess smoke as before and i can drive pretty smoke free on the max level, but when it does smoke it seems to have a greyish tint. I haven't been happy with the truck sin…

I was considering changing my setup for more performance. Fuel Pump, performance computer etc. My question is, with 90K on the ODO, is this an unwise path? I was basically considering Moparmans setup as I have the same truck, but I am (slightly) concerned on modding the almost 100K motor. Thoughts?

Figured I'd post a little video of my truck in 3 cylinder high idle. It was -13*F when I shot the video. I did not use block heater and the Cummins still fired up without much hesitation. Back to normal idle after about 15 minutes of 3 cylinder high idle and 20 minutes of 6 cylinder high idle.

thought crossed my mind after falling asleep in my truck trying to stay dry one night when camping.ended up letting the truck idle for 7 hours before i woke up and realized it :doh:then i got to thinking. has anyone done any research on how many gallons per hour these things use at stock idle speed (800~rpm)? what about with high idle engaged around 1200 rpm's? also is there any danger in idling these trucks for hours at a time at factory idle speed?

*also posted on cumminsforum.comHow is the BHAF affected by driving in heavy rain? Is there a possibility that it would get wet from the water going up through the wheel well past the shock tower? If it gets wet will it ruin the paper element? I don't run a heat shield, but do they help keep the water out of the filter? Thanks!
