It wasn't anything too heavy, built some walls for my flat bed and loaded up 3400lbs of scrap, rolled across the scales at just over 15k total. I also hauled a 1959 Plymouth Fury. The truck pulls so much harder with a load now, no hesitation in getting up to speed in traffic. It was a night and day difference compared to just a single turbo. I never crossed 1000* EGT even while pushing it hard on level 5 of my towing tune. The whistling, oh how I love the whistling.

So I've made some real progress the last couple weeks. Truck runs pretty well and cold starts are much better now. Still have to harden the hardware to make it a daily driver. I got some open source schematic and PCB CAD generator program called KiCAD, seems to work pretty good. Had some install issues because I'm still using Win 7 LOL but I found an older version that works. I used to use Eagle CAD, not easy if you don't use it often and forget things like me. Got most of the sanity checks done and correlated with the usual DTC codes. Some took guess work there isn't much in depth documentation on them. Thanks to the MoparMan forum I fou…

You can find the article for this build here First I need to give credit where it is due and reconize Farm828 and other on CumminsForum in this Thread Also I need to give major credit to Hakcenter from lilbb.com and his code and use of turbo RPM to calculate vane position. I am currently working on getting my 351ve conrolled using a arduino uno and sparkfun canbus shield along with some other basic parts/sensors Here are the list of parts that are used. you can void the code to use one or all of the sensors, but this list is for everything. Parts: for controlling the he351 with boost and drive pressure Arduino uno: https://www.s…

Sprung a leak from the plastic part of the radiator yesterday. What's the best replacement? Stock oem? CSF brand? I don't want to spend 800 bucks for mishimoto.

I finally had some time and good weather to work on my project. The goal is to replace the black boxes that may be unobtainable in the future. The speed/ position sensor circuit was reworked again it is an advanced and adaptive design now part hardware and some digital signal processing. This is the 4th gen now. It syncs up fast and has good noise filtering. It also does not rely on hard coded zero crossing thresholds. It learns and saves the last known good values in non volatile memory for fast start ups. The cold weather revealed some problems which are fixed now. The injection drive has to be hammered harder and for longer time than…

Drove my truck this morning and just happened to look at the idle speed when I got to work. It was at 822-825. The coolant temp had gotten hot enough to open the tstat. However at the time my temps were showing 180ish. So would this be a reason why it's idling a little higher than normal? Idk why i pay so much attention to my gauges but I guess it's a good and bad thing 😆

So yesterday morning I went to start my dodge for the first time in over a week. Let the grid heater cycle 2 times and tried to start it. Wouldn't start so I unhooked the quad from the battery but not the map (forgot that part). Jumped the truck and had a cel. Drove to my brother's next door to change the turbo. Got that done and went for a drive. Had zero boost checked the cel and it was a p0238, 0236. Unhooked the quad at the plug, left the quad map sensor is plugged and same results. Drove like a turd and no boost. (Limp mode if I can describe it). Did I fry the map or the quad? Should I unhook the quad map sensor and plug in the factory one? …

I was casually looking for a transmission line kit and came across this fancy transmission pan. It allows you to bypass the heat exchanger, it has fittings in the pan to run engine coolant. It looks like it could eliminate the possibility of making a large milk shake should the factory exchanger fail. It's not cheap but it has me rubbing my chin and going Hmmmm.
