I am having one of my boot on the intake horns side come loose. I have tightened it and it still backing off. I boost maybe 38psi. Does anyone have experience with https://www.siliconeintakes.com/? I am wondering if there is a smple fix, or if I should just get a new set of boots? The truck is 15yrs old and has 240k miles.

Hey guys I'm curious what the symptoms of failure are for my stock sticks. They have 125k on them and my truck seems to surge lightly on idle and almost miss a little bit at hwy speeds. Let's a good puff of blue smoke on startup buts god away almost immediatly please help me! Thanks also if seems like my power kind of went away but I can't say that for sure! Thanks

  3. Ok guys lets talk water meth injection. I know the old go too mixture is the blue washer fluid. I used some M5 race fuel in my setup, cut about 50/50 with purple washer fluid. Anyone else dabble with a differnt mix? I do notice quite a bump in boost when I'm spraying....

So just wondering if anyone's heard of any problems towing with the xzt on level 3? Reading through some of the manuals for the edge ez and it recommends NEVER towing on level 3 and with these two boxes being quite similar it got me wondering. Not sure if that's just a legal/responsibility thing that they use to cover themselves when people try turning up the power and towing and causing damage to their trucks or what, but just wanted to see what you guys thought.

My yearly test is coming up on Friday. I have been working hard to figure out how much fuel I can throw at the truck without causing visible smoke. I am allowed %20 opacity on lug down tests at 40, 50, 60 mph. This will be the first year I have run the Quadzilla during the test. I have my tune nailed down pretty well. starting % of 76 seems to be where there is next to 0 visible smoke in any situtation. Last year with the smarty on %50 power mode I ended up at %7 opacity, so I am guessing I am going to at in the 10%-15% range in the test. I can turn down the fuel more, but I want to try and pass with as much fuel as possible. It is also …

  6. This is a long story and I will try not to be long winded. This really started long before I became a member here and before my ECM crapped out so bare with me.. About 6 years after buying the truck my ECT just fell out. Very typical of a failed t stat. Thru the years and many t stats plus a couple sensors and radiator caps, most recently replaced them all again three weeks ago.Even sent one to @Mopar1973Man packed in one dollars and it worked fine for him. After installing a cheap Suncoast gauge from Auto Zone under the hood and it mostly told the engine temp was good. Something in the wiring. I hate wiring. About three years ago I started experiencing some s…

Looking for some advice on which injectors to go. I currently have DAP 7.009 SAC (100hp) and was looking at going bigger to match the compound turbos I'll be putting in. I'm currently running a Borg Warner S475/92/1.10 over stock HX35 with the billet Wicked Wheel 2 compressor blade. I'll be doing light towing every once in a while ~6k lbs. Also switching up my setup from an EJWA to an Adrenaline so I know there's going to be a lot more fueling customization once I learn the unit. Anybody have any suggestions on a good clean burning injector that would match my setup?

Hey guys, so finally had a chance to get a full tank, and drive a good amount of 99% highway driving and trying to get as accurate number as I can. Only thing I'm having an issue with is compensating for my bigger tires and my speedo not being calibrated for it. Anyone know how to do that? Here's my numbers: Trip meter = 425.8 (has 285/70/17s when speedo is set for 265/75/16s so this is biggest concern) Used 22.3 gallons of diesel Hand crunching those numbers still comes out to 19mpgs which isn't terrible but pretty sure it's a little different due to tires/speedo being off. Thanks in advance!

  11. Good afternoon everyone, forum newbie here. Looking for help with an issue on my 2001 5.9 Automatic. I've owned this truck for a couple of years now and had various issues fixed. But one that I can not get fixed is a complete lack of power towing. I have a 27ft 5th wheel thats only ~8000 Lbs. The truck alone with me and my passengers / family weighs 7980. So, I'm just around 16,000. Going down the highway, especially starting up any grades I rapidly loose speed. I've towed as long as I have been driving with other rigs and know that when you loose momentum its likely not coming back. But to the point... Even on flat ground or a 1% grade, around 65MPH, my choic…

2 part question. I bought a 1999 Dodge 2500 4x4 with an automatic tranny last year. Got it cheap from a dealer since it needed work. In the process of getting it back on road I discovered someone put a lot of money in the truck. I'm trying to figure out roughly what the HP and Torque is at now. Also what the next mods should be. Truck came with Banks Ottomind, high ram, gauges, tranny rebuilt 7 miles before i bought it probably with the cheapest parts possible, rebuilt stock turbo. I added Fast titanium, pressure gauge, BHAF and RV275 injectors not realizing that it had the Ottomind in it. I might be looking at an upgraded…

So I bought a core 47re a month or so ago. A buddy came by as we tore down the trans from my green truck. Figured might as well get started on the core trans. Well here is what we found so far LOL. Plan as of now for the trans is to go in the 12v once done. Will get a dpc reman triple. Already have the full rebuild kit, billet input, tcs servo & lever kit, and goerends vb. I will be making my own laminated flex plate. This trans came out of a v10 truck.

  14. Hello and good morning, I recently bought a 33' toy hauler. and I quickly found out that my rig is not set up for towing that kind of weight. wondering if I can get some recommendations for solving this dilemma. truck is all but stock with a juice with attitude programmer. set up is as follows, 01 3500 dually HO 5.9, 6 sp man NV5600, front axle dana M60 f/ 248mmFBI, rear Dana 80 (hybrid) ( not quite sure what that means ) with 3.55 gear ratio, currently running LT 245/75R17 tire n rims. 15. My plan here pretty soon is to go with a 62/68/12 or 14 BW turbo and possibly 150 vco or sac injectors. Ive talked to a couple sales reps and they said i should consider upgrading my springs and push rods as well. I dont feel like this setup would warrant the need to upgrade the springs and rods so I am asking for some input? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. This is my DD so the most important thing is reliability but I also want to have some fun from time to time as well so if anyone has any other build suggestions let me know. I do not tow much often enough to have build that is used for towing.

So I bought a high idle switch a few years ago for my 99 ram. Worked great until last week. Now when I turn it on for my mpg fooler my check engine light comes on. It throws codes for the coolant temp sensor and the intake temp sensor circuit high. Not the first time I've seen this issue with this high idle switch. I'm a diesel tech here in South Dakota and one of my customers had the same switch and it did the same thing. I'm pretty sure the switch has gone bad. Just curious if any one has seen this issue as well. I'm sure I'm gonna have to replace the switch. I just don't feel like I should have to pay 150 bucks every three years for it. Thanks.

  17. Several months ago I had the P122 with a cel. As it progressed I started experiencing engine surging. At first only 1, 2, maybe 3% as shown on my scan gauge. I lived with for a little while until I had a chance to try and diagnose it some. Some of you might know how much I enjoy diagnosing electrical problems and for any who does not I think I would rather have a root canal done. Any way I had pretty much determined that it was a bad apps sensor. I had a Timbo on the truck and was not completly convinced that it was bad. So I googled "apps/tps sensor and found a boat load on ebay for any where between $12 and $90. They all had the same picture and I ended up buying one fo…

Looked up and it's a water temperature sensor code. Popped the hood and the red wire on the high idle connection at the thermostat broke off at the connector. Don't worry, it's an old unit from Yankneck. I unplugged it and plugged the original connection back and the check gauges light is out, but the code won't clear. Maybe need to disconnect at the back of the head too...the one I can't reach myself. Need a gal or a guy with feminine hands.

Given that we've now had two forum members recently get their rigs stolen () I figured I'd start a thread on any and all ideas for anti-theft devices, switches, alarms, gps things so maybe we can compile our ideas to keep our trucks safer from these damn thieves! What do ya got?!
