  2. INSTALLED SOME MANIFOLD STUDS AND AN ATS ONE PIECE EXHAUST MANIFOLD YESTERDAY ON MY 01 RAM AND NOTICED THAT THE NOTCHED AREAS OF THE HEAD WHERE YOU CAN TOUCH THE HEAD GASKET LOOK LIKE THEY ARE SEPARATING. I COULD NOT IDENTIFY A LEAK BUT I WAS CURIOUS IF THAT WAS TYPICAL AT 167K MILES? TRUCK HAS HEAD STUDS ALREADY AND I SEE NO SIGNS OF FUNCTIONAL GASKET FAILURE WITH OIL OR WATER LEAKS AT THE MOMENT. THANKS

Since this post is mostly about "getting to the next milestone", I'll stick it in this forum. In the not to distant future I plan to change out my A/C condenser and compressor. With the condenser coming out I plan to pull the radiator, intercooler (has bent mounting ears from Bambi damage) etc. and change the front seal while I'm there. What else is best done with everything out of the way? Perfect time for a cam, but don't know that I need one. Service the power steering? Vacuum pump overhaul, even if it doesn't need it yet? Timing cover gasket? I plan to have the truck down for a while, so I can make the list as lo…

  4. So I am sorry, I know this isn’t quite the right section for post… but was closest I could find Looking for people who may have similar trucks to mine, and what they would be willing to part with them for. Mine was stolen from in front of my house, and after a few months and more phone calls than anyone would consider reasonable, the insurance co and I are talking numbers… first number was $10k and second was $12 We aren’t even close, however I am struggling to find comparable vehicles listed for sale …. it was a 99 Dodge Ram 2500- 24 valve- Automatic (just rebuilt) , Short bed extended cab, leather seats (…

Last fall I “upgraded” the stock hx35 on my truck to a Calibrated Power Stealth 64 Hx35. This turbo is the same basic frame as a stock hx35 so I can still use my Jacobs exhaust brake. Calibrated power makes their own 11 blade billet compressor, compressor cover. They also make their own turbine wheel which is larger to match the larger compressor wheel, and use a 9cm turbine housing. I think this tight turbine housing is what is causing my issues. I have been battling egt problems with the truck since I put the turbo on. I’ve upgraded injectors after finding posts discussing the effects of too small of an injector with out enough fuel causing high egts. I have updated the…

  8. I am not understanding why it is favorable to drill under the fuel module basket as I have read? Do the tanks have any walls/ baffles in the smooth flat area closer to the front strap? Does everyone like the Beans sump ? Thanks

  9. I've decided to start a thread specifically for detailing the path to restoring the truck back to proper, full functioning condition. I replaced the radiator with a fully aluminum one that's welded and brazed. Ebay special, $225 shipped. Actually looks to be quite nice. Even has a proper threaded bung for the petcock. I also started work on the rear axle. All four bearings show pitting and damage. I found that both seals have been replaced before and the surfaces are both shot. They had been replaced with speedi sleeves and they were both worn. Drivers s…

  10. Anyone use the current tip designs of these brands? I know the Mach 4 are Sac and DDP 150's were VCO. Any input appreciated. Truck has typical mods, BD Super B turbo, Comp Box, Currently RV275s, head studs, Raptor 100. Thanks

Is this enough wear to cause a no start. Getting just a click. With starter and jumping passed relay. I think these are larrybs contacts about 8 years on them. Thinking ill put this back together and chase voltage cable issues. Both batteries new two weeks ago. I havent done cables ever so I guess it might be time for terminals and cable's ill build them Was hoping to just have worn contacts but I dont think thats causing my problem. Had a slow cranking issue paired with a fuel leak for awhile and kinda letting it go cause I don't drive it much lately Starter is factory starter from 02

Okay, I need your guys help with this. I’m trying to fix this daily tune so my EGTs are not so hot cursing down the interstate. Right now, it is hard to keep under 900 while doing 70mph without any hills.( running in level 3,4,5, changing levels does not really change the EGTs) The truck still has the damn DDP injectors in it since I have not had time to change the tips yet (next on list when I have time) so I know those are part of the problem. Also, the truck does have 35x12.5 with 3.55 gears, so I don’t know if that is part of it as well. Below is what I’m currently running, and any input would be much appreciated. Power lev…

While driving home this evening and getting off the highway my fan clutch came on. Stayed on the last 30 miles. Got home and opened the hood and it does not free spin at all. Everything looks fine, and the fan has no wobble like the bearings are shot, but it is definitely locked. No free spin what so ever. Just curious if any one has had this happen and did you drive it for a bit before fixing. it? I have two days left this week a have to get one way or another. My thought is it should be fine if all is still tight. At least for a couple days. What ya'll think?

Coming in late June my brother and I will be driving from my home in Kuna ID to Lincoln Nebraska to get my mothers things to her. I will be using the Ram and pulling a 25' coleman camper. I will be followed by her 1994 GMC K1500 pulling a pickup bed trailer. I will be meeting my sister and her husband in there truck where they will take the camper and GMC to Watertown NY where my mother lives. The GMC is just about done, been prepping it so my mother shouldn't have to do anything but change the oil as long as she owns it. I've changed every fluid, filter, fixed all the leaks, replaced the cooling system, shocks, fuel pump and converted all the lights to LED. My tru…

In trying to get my truck setup so it doesn’t smoke like a train, I finally pulled the plug and made an order at DAP and got a Quadzilla. When I bought my truck, the PO had installed an XDP HO Extreme injection pump. My understanding is it’s equivalent to the hot rod VP. Anyways, How should I setup the Quadzilla? More truck info below. 1999 Ram 2500 5 speed NV4500 HO extreme injection pump 100 HP injectors, supposedly BD Diesel Super B Killer turbo. 61/76/14 3.55 gears 315/75r16 tires i also got 150hp injectors set at 320 bar I haven’t installed yet. I assume I’d have to change the timing afterwards. I know…

After purchase of dap 7x.0010 injectors and quad I'm having idle issues first time put in gear. 99 auto stock hx35 cai 4" mprp big loap will stall if grid heater is active. Smokes when grid heater is active and in gear. If I double pedal to back out I'm fine. Once in gear im fine until I put in park again. then same problem. I've completely removed quad ran on zero ran on 3 with timing changes. No change. Ran wire tap with ZERO SMOKE all settings. After researching alot on here I assumed I needed the quad to turn can bus fuel down on no to low psi for smoke control. I'm stumped. any advice. thanks Stock stall converter. fass set to 14 psi. hits 15 when bucking in gear…
