This might be a dumb question. I have a 2016 Chevy Impala LT - V6 97K miles. A couple of months ago while driving my Stabilitrak popped on and I felt the car "jerk" quickly. It's been coming off and on a few times since and I normally have my phone plugged in through a USB port and run Android Auto. Funny thing is - it doesn't pop on when I don't have my phone plugged in. So the other night I'm at a red light and the Stabilitrak kicked on but this time, the car completely disengaged, almost like it went into neutral. I switched gears and the indicator light with all the gears was all white. It wouldn't switch to drive or neutral or reverse. For about 30 sec…

Hinges are very important for doors and windows to function well- Without a proper hinge, opening a door or a window could become a tedious task. So, with this view in mind, Shivam Inplex has come up with a wide range of hinges. In this amazing collection of hinges, H Hinges Manufacturers, h hinge, weld-on hinges is a great category. The material used for this weld- on hinge is of a great quality.

We just swapped a 550hp 383 into my friends 1980 corvette. He has a FAST EFI system on it that he's no longer happy with and is going back to a carburetor. He just ordered a 750 Demon carb and I am giving him my spare Holley red fuel pump. I run the same parts on my 67 mustang with no return line, been that way for years with no issues. His car has a return line already on it, do we need to use it or can we just cap it off? I have seen there are fuel filters with return ports on them so using it wouldn't be a big deal, I have just read some posts stating a possible pressure drop from doing this. Here's some eye candy to go with this post.

It seems like clutch month for me. Just did a Chevy 350 clutch now im doing it again. This one happens to have a NV4500 transmission. Ill admit way easier on a Dodge or Ram to change a clutch than a Chevy.

Rolled 60,000 miles on my Silverado a couple days ago. It'll be 3 years of ownership on July 13. So far it's been a very reliable truck. It's funny on the Silverado forums..........................so many guys that cannot use, or even know what a wrench is!!!

My wife's 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 developed a misfire on cylinder #1 which was accompanied by a strange chirping sound. I set up a dial indicator on the rockers to check the lift and sure enough the intake on cylinder #1 was about half of what it should be. This is what I found after tearing the engine down. There were no spun bearings so the only machine work needed is to have the crank journals ground and the heads resurfaced. I am deleting the AFM/DOD garbage from this engine. I already have a new non-afm cam, lifters, lifter trays, valley plate, various bolts and gaskets, and the ECM has been flashed with the correct f…

About time to get some new tires on the company truck, 2013 Silverado 1500 1/2 ton, about 60k miles on these BFGoodrich Rugged Terrains P275/55R20s. Any advantage going to LT tires? I have maxed out payload and towing with this vehicle, although I don't load it up every week. Only issue I keep having is punctured tires from nails/metal.

Have put 2 tanks of fuel thru my 2016 Silverado 4x4, with the 5.3GDI, 6speed auto now. First tank netted an even 19mpg (hand calculated..........overhead read 19.4) driving strictly in M5 to shut out 6th gear and avoid it going into V4 mode. This tank also included about 40 or so miles of towing my work trailer. Second tank netted me 22.2mpg (overhead reading 22.7) also driving strictly in M5 again. No trailer towing on this tank. Pretty nice so far.

I ordered these a couple days ago, and got them yesterday. I went with the 5100's because I have airbags in the rear, and am slightly higher than stock empty, and the rear 5100's are made for up to 1" of lift. I also want to raise the front a bit with the "ride height adjustability" that the 5100's offer. I believe this is a much better option than the traditional and easy way of lifting/leveling using a spacer or puck. I plan on the 1.25"lift in the front. I got the rears installed an hour after they arrived; took only 20 minutes to do both sides. The fronts are a lot more involved; as they are a "coil over" set up and a spring compressor is required t…

My friend had a 1974 Firebird, he bought a 1979 Trans Am shell and transferred everything over from the 1974. A big difference is the 74 only had 2 headlights and the 79 has 4. He had been using the 74 harness to run 2 of the 4 lights. He bought a new 79 harness to try and run all 4 lights. The plug at the firewall was different, but the wires were all colored the same so we spliced the old plug on the new harness. We verified the same color wires went to the same lights on both harnesses as well. Setup this way, only the marker lights and turn signals work, none of the headlights will come on. There was power to all the lights(checked with test light, probably sho…

Along with tackling some brake issues on the old GMC this week, I also decided to take care of a nagging transmission pan leak I have lived with for years. I decided to go with a Summit brand aluminum deep pan, and went the extra mile with a lubelocker reusable gasket. The pan is really a nice piece, and to my surprise "made in the USA" .. After torqueing the bolts to 120 inch lbs the old turbo 400 is now dry as a bone underneath. Gasket technology has taken a great leap forward in recent years. They are considerably more pricey, but the payoff in having no leaks and being reusable seems worth the investment.

Hi, Truck starts fine all the time. Once it's warmed up, it develops a miss as if its starving for fuel. Fuel pressure is good. Timing is correct. injectors tested/serviced, fuel filter/plugs/wires changed. I have an OTC 4000E OBD1 scanner and everything is within specs. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Leaky

Turned 30,000 miles on this little 2016 Chevy Silverado yesterday. Overall, not one problem. Gonna replace the crappy OEM shocks with Bilsteins here shortly. Colder weather hits mileage in gassers just like diesels.........10-20% drop.

I ran the tank down a bit further than normal in order to give E15 fuel a try. For those that don't know, E15 is gasoline that is 15% ethanol..............where "normal" 87 octane gas is usually E10 or 10% ethanol. Wanted to try it because it runs 5-10% cheaper than regular 87 unleaded, and because it's 88 octane vs. 87. Hoping that the decrease in energy in the fuel will be offset by the flex fuel feature on my truck which adjusts timing due to "knock". Just experimenting. Thinking that if theres and increase in timing it'll offset the lower energy in the fuel. What thinks the brain trust here???

Have just under 16,000 miles on her now. Bought on July 13, 2016. I've done 2 oil changes and 1 tire rotation so far. Been averaging anywhere from 16-21mpg. She's made 2 trips to Orlando, FL and back. 1 week long trip to Paducah, KY and back. 1 weekend trip to Stevens Point, WI and back. 1 weekend trip to eastern Iowa and back. And that's not counting the trailer towing/work I have/do here!! So far, so good on this truck!!
