Recently moved up to to whidbey island, Washington and I'm looking for a few things to make life easier around the house and shop. Could anyone point me in the direction of good equipment, farm, or even estate sale auctions so I could possibly get some stuff? Im not finding to much by google or from people I work with because the general sense is "just buy new"

Shop interior is 60x40. Peak ceiling height is about 30 feet. All open with no fan for circulation. Insulated with hard foam insulation. Insulation looks to be about 1/2" thick. Ceiling insulated with glass bat. Windows insulated and doors also. Really good shop. Just no heater! I have long term ideas in mind but short term, don't know how to proceed. Obviously, heat rises. So it would take quite some time before i may even feel the heat on certain heating devices. Unless its directional or radiant, etc. Which In this case, that may be the only alternative i have at the moment. I need to get to painting my bee equipment. But even in March old man …

I'm sure there is tons of drop light users and been burnt by the hot light bulb or dropped it and blown the light bulb out. Well grab your old drop light and buy a 100w LED light bulb. I'll tell you the bulb is super bright being LED it doesn't get hot enough to burn you. If you drop it won't blow the bulb out. I picked up 20-foot drop light and the 100w LED bulb and man I love this light way better than the expensive solutions, simple and cheap.

Had some good fun today here on some posts. Thought maybe I would not clutter up some of threads with this. I remember and still believe in this, "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me". Heard that alot growing up. I know times are a good bit different then than they are now, but all sides could benefit from this. The other thing that bugs me is folks have just about forgot how to laugh at themselves. We all do stupid **** that is worthy of a laugh, I know I do. Here is my baby brothers number so he can verify my stupidity, BR549. When I was pre teen they banned the Amos and Andy show because it stereo typed black folks. Those guys were …

I thought Id share this find https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardner-Bender-16-AWG-25-ft-Primary-Wire-Spool-Red-AMW-326/300689784 I found a good source of wire if needed for Automotive. We are now the owners of a 2015 Grand Design Solitude 369RL! We will be able to pick it up today or tomorrow depending on when our neighbor is free since he’s towing it for us. This is going to be our new home since our old one was damaged beyond repair during last summers flood. In case anyone is wondering why my neighbor is hauling it for us I don’t have a 5th wheel hitch or brake controller installed in my truck yet.

I have to tear down an old 70's house but the amount of asbestos tests required to have the dumpsters emptied at the Government run Waste station make it harder. We have gotten 4 tests done, each sample costs $48 bucks. We still need 4 more after I got the correct information from the dumpster company. Makes it difficult when they have to wait in line while each load is inspected and all inspection reports are looked at. If any items can't be identified as having a test they will turn you down until it gets tested and comes up negative for asbestos. Yet we can drive 20 miles further and dump at a county run dump with no questions asked. Oh well.....

That is being very honest. Got home from Saturday's run to dialysis with MoparMom and it was snowing on our way home. Not bad but glad to be home for the weekend. Got up Sunday morning sat around working the website thought I'll jump in the shower and get started today. About 5 minutes into my shower the water started backing up. Oh No! So I jump out and grab the plunger and give it couple good hits and the black soup came back up another not good sign. So I got dressed and started calling around and found a company that does drain cleaning. Come to find out he's in the southern part of the state doing another job. He said Monday at noon. Monday at 11am I'm calling to ver…

Good afternoon folks, I need to by a cycling switch for the AC for my 99 (and it would appear a injection line for #3. ). There are a bunch of places online that have their little look up tool & they all say that they have good prices, but I have NO idea where to even start. First off none of their websites say if they have the part in stock, and some of them dont even say what state they are located in. A bunch of them are located in the eastern time zone, which is not of itself a bad thing, but........ trying to be cost conscious on shipping, I would prefer to find someone here on the west coast or @ least in the pacific time zone......... …

There are a lot of car shows out there. A lot of crappy "reality shows" that really are scripted and then there is this show. It is possibly the best show ever. Yes, better than Top Gear. I grew up going to the library and spending DAYS reading through old copies of HOT ROD magazine. I love cars and HOT ROD. If you are similarly afflicted, I have a show for you. ROADKILL... This show is great. It is two guys, the Editor and Assoc. Editor ot HOT ROD going out and doing real car stuff. Some of it absurd, but it isn't scripted, and it isn't syndicated. These guys are making some money off of it, but aren't controlled by some network focus group. …

So I've ruined a few of roller fairleeds for a winch, they use these plastic inserts that can only handle so much. I ended up figuring out size of bearings that can replace plastic. I just did this so I have no clue how it will hold up, but I'm hoping better than before. Here is what I've used if anyone wants to try. Bearings are 5/8 x 1 3/8 is just got some cheap China special bearings https://m.ebay.com/itm/-10-99502H-MOWER-SPINDLE-SEALED-BALL-BEARING-5-8-X-1-3-8-X-433-GO-KART-CART/302295734698?itemId=302295734698&fdback=1 Needs bit of minor modifications to make it work, hoping it will be much better than plastic crap. I put few talk welds to keep bearing fr…

I dont live on HUGE acreage but I do have property which justifies the usage of machinery beside a shovel and manual labor. Over the years I haven't had to purchase any equipment since I have a friend with a full size Case 580 Super D which he's let me use whenever I need it. Usually a week at a time or so. Well the day has come where he wants a newer nicer backhoe so he's offered to sell me his. Now the heat is on because I'm caught in a dilemma where I'm not sure if I want something that big since they are BIG (weighing in at 17,000 lbs) but I'm leery of its overall reliability given its age (early 80's). Plus he wants $15k for it which is about the goin…
