While I was there in Salt Lake City Utah @Wet Vettehad here car broken into and stole my camera. First off my fault for leaving in the car. The broke out the passenger rear glass and reached in and took the camera. The hotel we were at caught it all on camera and got a clean view of the persons face. Police report filed and taken care of. Working together with Eileen we manage to get the hotel to cover the broke window with tape. Then cleaned up most of the glass in the car and in the parking lot. Got a hold of the insurance company and got them to send us to the SafeLite Glass shop less than 2 minute walk away. By 11am we had the car fixed and …

So I was in the garage today, bored. Had a 44" John Deere snow blower sitting around for a while. (Long story) and decided to see if I could adapt it somehow to my Kubota B5100 lawn tractor. Tractor has a vertical PTO pulley and clutch up front and the blower has a horizontal belt drive so didn't see why this couldn't happen. I began to fab up a mount on the tractor to connect the quick connect hitch for the blower. So far so good. Have to fab a couple mounts for the idler pulleys to transition from horizontal to vertical to drive the blower. Then work out the lift system using the 3 point in the rear for now. Once I have the brackets and such mocked up and welded …

I’m thinking about lightly armoring my truck. Not trying to make it bomb proof, just trying to increase my ability to stay safe against small arms fire. If you were going to spend $1,000 on this, how would you spend it?

How does everyone feel about our future...... I feel a large degree of uncertainty, how about you? BTW, hijacking on this thread is not only allowed, it's also welcomed. I notice a lot less postings lately, wonder what's going on with everyone.

Looking at a significant warm up here in Frost Bite Falls, and my heat bill loves it. Not really normal for our winters up here on the tundra, and I can't help but thinking we're only at halftime of this winter waiting for the second half. Is Old man Winter rolling up his sleeves, and saying hold my beer? Mark

With a sadden heart this morning I just found out my landlord Russell (Russ) Muchler of my other shop passed away last night. We are not sure if he slipped and fell feeding his sheep or had a heart attack. Please offer this man some prayers. So sad to loose my good friend. I've worked with him for many years off and on.

Long story short, I am on track for going active duty in May (or earlier) in the Marine Corps. If anyone could give some advice or short stories about choosing an MOS or what MOS you had and why, etc. I have lots of hobbies that the Marines offer in regards to jobs but I do want to use as much free time as possible during my service to accumulate college credits. I'm going in older...add ten years to eighteen. Very mature. I know this probably isn't the best place to ask this question due to likelihood of limited former military but I trust everyone on here. I've heard people say that pick something that would be fun...it's four years of your life go …

There are quite a few creepers on the market these days, but most have complaints about breaking, plastic tearing near the wheels, wheels worn out in two weeks, bearings falling out, etc. Does anyone have one they can recommend? My old wood one from Kmart I bought back in 73, has seeing its last days. With all the bad reviews I thought of going to Snap-On for their standard duty creeper. T.I.A for any thoughts or warnings on which one to go for or stay away from.

I just wanted to take a minute before the ball drops and all to wish everyone here on our little piece of the web a Happy New Year. I hope and pray that 2021 is better than 2020. It's been a rough year for me and my household. I'm sure we've all had our ups and downs one way or the other. Let's all keep our heads up, the rubber side down and the turbos spooling and tires spinning. Cheers to all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I saw this story this morning. The dodge ram truck plant in michigan is producing the ram TRX with the 700hp hellcat engine and somehow apparently one fell of a carrier on the assembly line. Then one of the employees decided it would be a good idea to leak this photo of it on instagram. The automakers are very picky about pictures being taken in the plants on a good day, let alone when something like this happens. The guy that took the pic posted it with his user name and a pic of himself in the profile. At the very least he will probably be unemployed very soon.
