  • Both drive shafts, input shaft on the transmission or a new clutch, 4x4 linkages to transfer case if not enough adjustment, and I'm sure some more things.    It also depends on how much powe

I have one I would like to get built this year. Standard Gear out of Texas I believe seems to have a good rep and there is another out Memphis, their name alludes at the moment. Have not looked at either in couple years. I guess some further research is in order. There are other cheaper ones out there but I dont want to do this but once.

Ill get pics up as soon as i can there on my wifes phone, im planning on rebuilding my self this time using parts from allstategear, if its worth it, over still got a split the main case I ran out a time before I gat that far

Allstate sells a rebuilt for $2650 free shipping. $1000 core charge also. But fro what you have stated your core might not be any good. It does say you have to pay shipping on the core return. On top of that I dont anything about them other than what I read their website.

Please be sure to read up on them and make sure there a good company, I'm hoping to find that mine can be built and if So I'm going to do it, I'm very ocd about something being done right, well I'm a mechanic for a living and have to be and after being burned like this I'd have a hard time trusting anyone else,

This is what I found under thef tail housing

I tell everyone to run from that clown (cpp). I have a source in Texas with a fb buddy that does an excellent job with these transmissions. Good luck in any dealings with cpp. He WILL blame you for the failure, it is never his fault.

That's amazing. Just another reason to be careful who you let out work to.

I just paid $3400 for my Getrag rebuild. I brought it to Source automotive thinking they'd do the work, but no, they shipped it out to a place called Larry Morton Transmission who I had do one other trans in the past. I was very upset to say the least. So you have to watch out they don't start shipping out all their work too.

I nust say that Source Automotive has always done top notch work for me. Always. Keeping my fingers crossed this trans was done right, but it does 'pop at times going into gear and has a slight grinding sound under a load going up hill. Only I know the truck well enough to hear it.

Do you care to share who this fb buddy is? There is no way I am going to tackle mine.

Yea he builds a lot of them look as to do a pretty good job, there not that complicatedyou just have to pay attention and be clean, and build it right, and make sure the parts are not worn out which apparently cpp don't do

Well guys got back on the trans today and found its not really worth building. Found the input shaft hole in the bell housing worn out, rthe race just falls out and cpp had glued the race in with sealer, also found th st the main shaft where the  rear bearing sits had had a bearing failure and welded a old bearing on the shaft and cpp had cut the old bearing off with a torch and cut in to the shaft and didn't clean it up, also found that there are several syncr slider rings slap worn out

A GOOD company could fix the race issue. It just depends how much they would charge. Those cases aren't exactly a dime a dozen.

I'm just not sure it worth trying to fix I'll end up with as much as I had in the replacement trans to begin with

The way I look at it you're kinda screwed either way. If you buy another replacement, they may not accept yours as a good core. If you get that one rebuilt they may charge an arm and a leg to fix it.
