Hey there I just hooked up an OBDLink to my 24v and noticed some strange boost readings. At idle I’m getting 12.4 and at full throttle about 22.4. Is this the app not reading boost correctly or should I be checking my map and wastegate? It’s an 01 HO

  • I get it. My fuel pressure is on the A pillar still. Going to move it one day. There other options and I like this better.

  • Well, no wonder you blew the intake manifold gasket!!    - John

The value you are seeing is not psi.

I didnt figure out the conversion.  But your numbers are close for what i remember

Ok is there an app that works for gauges? I tried torque pro and it doesn't read boost or coolant temp

They will all be the same.  The truck doesnt report values according to the standard we have now.

Darn ok, I was hoping to see some base health readings before throwing more power at the old girl

Put a boost gauge on it. My scan gauge ll reads about 26 psi at idle.

Maybe Im being stubborn but id like to avoid putting in analog pillar gauges. I much prefer the clean look of having everything on one small screen.Do the quadzilla or edge insight/ juice guages read correctly?

yes they read data from the ecm using the j1939 bus, not hte odb bus

oh gotcha so im guessing an edge insight wouldnt be much use either since its an obd reader?

Either way the MAP sensor accuracy isn't the greatest. Best to opt for a boost gauge than trying to read the MAP sensor.

How far off is it typically? Couple psi or like 5-10?

depends on the sensor.  some are more accurate than others.

age, wire condition, etc etc etc

But i can only to 34 at WOT. But let clutch out and you're  doing 40 before it's  fully engaged. 4th gear launch required.

2 reason I did not do mine that way. The main was I had just installed the new dash pad and could not make myself drill a hole in it. The second was i got usdd to it at the windsheild and can see it just fine. But I like yours too.

Like for mine 0 to 20 PSI is good beyond 20 PSI it goes out the window. Where my boost gauge shows 47 PSI Quadzilla will report 67 to 69 PSI. I'm sure my small 60/60/12 turbo cant do that much.

Snap On Modis reports good but here you'd get a gas ram complete for the cost of a modis ☺

you could troubleshoot the calculation in the app to make it right.

I found what it is for a 98-00 trucks, but I didn't have a 01-02 to test the calc with.

Mine is very close all the way to about 53 PSI where the quad maxes out.
