Whats the verdict guys? Are you seeing improved MPGs power or what? I run K&N now but I am one who cleans them once a month religously. I dont mind cleaning them but if this is better im on may way to buy one. let me know.

Problem everytime you clean the filter you break down the media more and take bigger risk at dusting out your engine. My last BHAF lasted 130K miles and 6 years without ever touching it once.

They are large and take a lot of dust loading before any servicing is required. I put one on my truck but found no mpg improvement or egt's reduction. I found it directed alot more intake noise into the cab, for me it wasn't worth the extra noise and went back to the stock setup, but some seem to like the sound.

i ran a k&n for many years but only cleaned mine every 50k to 60k maybe onger. when i changed over to the bhaf i noticed there was some oily residue on the turbo at the compresor wheel, not alot it wiped off with a clean rag very easily. i have read here and on some other forums that the residue can build up in the intercooler. i saw no changes, maybe alittle reduction in egt's, but no differance in fuel milage or power. intake noise is about the same.

BAHF... Its not that the the thing can absorb a ton of air or dirt, its about fine filtration,the filter is designed to filter the harsh dirt of any equipment can. If it was your water what do you want. ehh..maybe slightly dirty water or NO dirty water. By trade I am a water filtration and well pump installer.

Im about the same as everyone else no mpg improvements but i like the extra turbo noise that comes with it as well as the added filtration.-Jordan-

I just went back to stock on mine. Put the silencer ring back and put the stock filter back on. I actually think it improved the response on the engine. I check mileage very religiously so I will know in a couple of weeks if it made a difference.Rick

BHAF!!It's the only way to go in my opinion! K&N let too much through. BHAF is a true paper filter that is good for many many miles! It's not about mileage or responce as much as it's about CLEAN AIR!!! It just plain WORKS! Keeps ALL the Nasty's out of the engineJG

Iagree cleaner is better. I installed a BHAF 2 mo ago. I have not notice any difference, but I know that the engine is breathing better.

I have a K$N open-element filter for now, but will soon change to the big Donaldson. I installed the filter meter from the stock airbox into the inlet tubing, as well, to aid in filter monitoring. It's been better than a year, and no drop in flow (per metering device) thusfar.

Same as all the others. No better MPG, and very annoying on the noise end. If it weren't for the chance of mice making a nest in the factory box again, I would put it back on to reduce the noise. It is already loud enough. I am not into the "F16 Falcon" sound effects as much as some I guess.

"If its too loud you must be too old..."

Well I'm in the same boat. I love the function of the BHAF for filtering and the long life of the media but I'm getting tired of the whistling so I jamed back in the whistle ring. That helps a bunch... But still under heavy loads you can still hear the turbo spool but not too bad...

BHAF will give clean air for a long time and the only penalty is the noise. If you are around 450hp or more then it will help support the extra power.

As longs as it's runnin fine, It can make all the noise it wants. When my wife drive my truck, I can hear my truck rattlin comin down the road .2. The sound of power, it's just a loud setup. I have to shut it off if I want to talk to someone, like at a tollboth & such! I like it!

It's BIG, it's LOUD and it STINKS. It's a TRUCK! not a tree hugging Prius.

I think this new body style that Dodge has is the best looking truck out there right now. Chevy, nice. Ford fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.The Ram box is a really good idea. It's about time they started putting them back in the trucks. Ford had a toolbox back in the 60's and 70's that was in the side of the bed. I never could figure out why they did away with that. That is a lot of wasted space inside those panels.
