  1. Nice log. just a reminder to everyone, that the latest tunes are hosted here https://mopar1973man.com/files/category/14-2nd-generation-24-valve-tunes/ the last tune resolves a warmup bug that might cause a knock due to too little timing after 120* ect at idle.
  2. @JAG1 I'm very concerned about this picture issue. We neeeeeed pictures
  3. Replaced the hard line from the tranny to heat exchanger with fittings and hose, because mine was bent and a pain to line up the threaded ends. $63 from Jegs -8 AN= 1/2" Fittings at transmission- 1/4" NPT to -8 AN and -8 AN 90 degree bend push loc Fittings at heat exchanger- 3/8" NPT to -8 AN and -8 AN straigh push loc 10' of -8 AN(1/2") parker hose
  4. That all I use. Pour from my gallon jug into the quart and pour in the amount needed. No funnel needed.
  5. I'll dust off the bmw. She needs Alittle attention anyways
  6. I will be there. I can't make April, but I will at least make a couple! I would love to meet up as well. Family is coming as one of my biggest goals with this old beast is to use it as an actual family car. I look forward to dropping kids off at school in the batmobile. I hope to drag @Me78569 along as well, he should bring his bimmer or truck with a Quad posterboard or "Nick's VGT codemonkey" sign. I have a job that includes weekends.
  7. Golden Super Cruise! I went out the first Saturday in April (a month early) and there was quite the turnout. Definitely like to meet up there and check it out!
  8. New news! Unfortunately, @Me78569 and my schedules haven't meshed again, so I have been drinking all the beer by myself! Evidently @TFaoro doesn't like beer, takes all kinds I suppose. Anyway... The starter pinion gear was near ground off on the original starter. I found an awesome speedo/auto electric shop http://www.speedoservice.com/. They rebuilt the really rare original starter for $110. New points, dwell and timing set, it still ran ok, but not great. As I was trying to set the timing, it seemed like the timing marks were pretty far out, about 70 degrees. The original owner had two plug wires crossed. After fixing that, the car runs really well. I think a brake cylinder is weeping on a brake, it needs new seat skins, new speedo cable, window fuzzies, door seals, and needs the heater controls cleaned out. Aside from that, the car really drives well. I plan on driving it daily when the weather is nice. i added what I feel are tasteful vintage decals to the car.
  9. got any thoughts? Mike was saying he has a pretty thick smell of diesel out the tail pipe when it is missing. oh, Sorry I can't keep things straight.

The biggest thing I see, is the displacement, most semi engines are 15L motors, almost 3x the side of our trucks. when you turn the jake up, you increasing the length of time the exhaust valve is open, and creating a vacuum inside the cylinder that gives you the retarding hp you need. the new DD15's in our trucks suck, they have VGT addon's to the jake's and they don't do the same, like the older Detroit's did.
  12. Afraid of pictures...... might need a full time guard if you see it. Your right on CSM. Sometimes I think I should still be driving a buck board way I am.
  13. @TFaoro, im starting to wonder if he is a flip phone guy.
  14. Make sure they test it before you take it home. It is really common to see 3 or 4 bad alternators in a row from a parts store.
  15. Most guys here just use a quart bottle with oz. on the side and add depending on the # of gallons they put in.

I used the power steering to pop my wheel bearings out. Wish I had known about it the first time I did it. Liked to never got them out the first time. Anti seize has kept that from happening again. Happy to hear it was not bad for you.
