  1. After seeing AH64ID thread about his Smarty I would darn to say that stock truck would benefit from high cetane fuel being how retarded the timing is... Timing curve of stock CR engines...
  2. Typically the truck changes the way it runs after injector installs. As for the little problems like connector tubes, o-rings, etc. They might create air leaks and such... But like after going down this road a few time I come to fine out that you got to tighten the injection line and cross over tube first before tightening the injector hold down. This always proper seating of the crossover tube to the injector.
  3. Those adapters are for the 2002 MAP sensors which are no longer produced... So you should be able to skip all that extra junk and just plug in without adapters.
  4. Might be a good idea to give Quadzilla a quick call and see if it programming issue. Anyone else?

  6. I would say you got a warrnaty claim with Edge... Sounds like a defective unit is possible..
  7. Most of those pictures are the Big Salmon River North of Riggins, ID which is 15 miles north of me.. The 2 pictures looking though the trees is the river across the road from me... Little Salmon River - River Flow Gauge http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=mso&gage=rigi1 Even looking at the record that was set at 12 feet of water it still never made it over the highway for me.

  9. Not bad... If you figure the 320 mile ride round trip for me and $100 per shop hour for a my Dodge Dealer... Not bad at all...
  10. When suggesting big purchase buys for repairs I like to have two smoking guns. In other words we already got a low fuel pressure problem which is the first smoking gun. So now lets check error codes write them down then clear then out and go for a right and then check again. If we come up with a second smoking gun (P0216, 1688, 1689, 0251, 0252, 0253, etc) then I would say its time for a new VP44 injection pump.
  11. Sound like there is some issues with the VP44... Like the other have said check the codes nd then clear them. Then got for a 5-10 mile ride checking for the CEL light. If the light pops on pull over and read the codes again. If it doesn't then return home and check the codes anyways. Then report what you find... I want to see if the VP44 is truely giving up...
  12. Sorry guys there was a issue with no-ip.com that prevented the IP address to hookup...:banghead: I think I got it fixed now. Give it another shot...   16. Another way to prime the system is to use compressed air. This requires two people. Remove the fuel cap and wrap a rag around the blow gun and insert into the filler neck blow enough air into the tank so when the second person at the VP44 crack the line loose allows the fuel to come up and then tighten the line.Strange that a AirDog is no longer self priming...
  17. Looks like its time for fresh hoses and fresh clamps. I know there isn't much slack to the heater hoses you might be able to cut that 1" off but getting the stretch to get it back on might not be there. Also when you buy new clamp don't get over zealous with the screwdriver. It take very little clamp force to seal a hose at 14-16 PSI. I don't know why I see people torque the clamp so hard the the rubber is squeezing out of the worm gear slots. This is wrong! Take notice ot the clamping force of the old spring clamps and you want about the same force.
  18. So far even my factory return line is doing just fine at 17-19 PSI run span. I do not suggest going over 20 PSI because now your over running the return line and over pressurising the VP44 injection pump which is bad.
  19. I'll admit since I crushed the spring coil slightly to create the oval on the ball end of the AirDog 150 I've had fairly consistent fuel pressure all winter and going into summer. So I'm still holding...Warm fuel19 PSI @ idle and 17 PSI WOTCold Fuel17 PSI @ idle and 15 PSI at WOT

  21. I use to run factory Carter lift pumps with a big line kit they will hold well above 10 PSI at WOT. But even the Carter lift pumps won't last very long I ate three lift pumps in about 60K miles costing nearly $200 a pop. After that I upgraded to a AirDog and never had to worry about it again...
  22. Maybe that's one of the few reason I got out of Cally back in 1990... Thanks for the update...
