  1. Even ScanGauge web site says only 10% of all vehicle have a fuel pressure sensor... Then only 50% of vehicles report MAP sensor values. As for the 98.5 to 02 Cummins the MAP sensor reports but the value is incorrect. As for 03 and up the MAP value is correct...
  2. Sorry to say the ScanGauge II only can monitor what sensors the ECM/PCM can see. Dodge didn't install any fuel pressure sensors so ScanGauge II is capable of reading fuel pressure. Here is all the inputs and outputs the ECM sees... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/general/ecm/ecm.htm So I'm sorry to say your going to have to install a Fuel Pressure gauge...
  3. Well either way I'm a bit comcerned... But it was just one of those funny pages you find out on a web site and had to snag...
  4. So basically it would be wiser to upgrade to a FASS, AirDog or Raptor pump and do it once with a lifetime warranty and never look back...
  5. Passing thought... This pump is the farthest from the fuel tank and all pumps hate to suck fuel any kind of distance... This is one reason why Dodge moved the stock pump into the fuel tank...
  6. Gotta love this from a male reader: "I'm not really concerned about swine flu. Here's my concern. • 3 years ago, Chinese calendar year of the cow . . . Mad Cow disease. • 2 years ago, Chinese calendar year of the bird . . . Avian flu. • This year, Chinese calendar year of the pig . . . Swine flu. Next year is the year of the cock . . . Anybody else worried?"
  7. The Dodge FSM says yes and most will say no... Very carefully use a pair of needle nose pilers and you should be able to pull them out from what I've been told... Anyone else have a suggestion?
  8. Here you go for a cheap version... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/2ndgen24v/apps/apps-replacement.html
  9. If I could get a few bucks ahead I would love to buy one...
  10. Well to make it easy for ya... Use the key trick to pull codes... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/2ndgen24v/obd2-error-codes/obd2-error-codes.htm Then there is only 2 thing that cause dead pedal... 1. APPS Sensor - Which ALWAYS throws a code when a dead pedal occurs (P0121, P0122 or P0123) 2. VP44 Injection pump - Which might or might not throw codes. Here is the list of codes.
  11. You mean... MITUSA I know they exist but I've got very little knowledge of them. I imagine it will have the very same failures as any pump. The lubricity of the fuel will detrimine the life of the pump.
  12. I think the the higher heads of CF.com might of thought he was a vendor and pull the thread on him... But basically it was a custom aluminum CNC milled badge that was a raised Cummins C with the word Cummins in a plasitc inset that was lighted with a red LED... Rather cool looking... I'll see if he'll post over here...
  13. NOTICE: I know this has to do with politics and religion... Here is something good to do for Christmas this year... http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=161098
  14. Well hell... It was there and now gone... I even double checked the source of the link and its dead too...:shocked2:
  15. Got a link to check out?
  16. So you planing on making it a 4 wheel 1 ton truck... I heard of people converting them to single rear tire but never really found out whats involved... I guess time to learn. After reading that little write up that rather easy... I wonder if that would work on a 1st gen??? Hmmm...
  17. Ummm... About 167*F manifold temp on a 122*F day in Riggins, ID...
  18. Ummm... It might... MAP sensor on the left, IAT sensor on the right... Yes that cage is plastic...
  19. Hmmm... Well does the 4WD engage? That would give a clue...
  20. Cold everything makes for poor performance period... Like from the information on my truck using ScanGauge II... My truck run optimial at about 100*F worth of intake temp, 195*F worth of coolant... But when cold and just starting out in the morning the engine got a hell of a timing rattle till the coolant temp and IAT come up. As for the VP44 system there is a fuel temp sensor in the pump to offset timing and fuel rates for fuel temp. how this all works I don't know since I've never found a way to read fuel temp. :rolleyes2: (Just what I need another gauge!)
  21. Thing is you could buy a expensive name brand batteries and have then fail quick too. The whole thing about a lead acid battery... 1. NEVER let the batteries stand dead for any amount of time.2. ALWAYS recharge a battery back to full before shutting down the truck or recharging dead batteries.3. ALWAYS use distilled water to top off the batteries4. NORMAL voltage for a battery is 13.5 to 14.5 for charging. 12.8 for rest voltage. 5. If adding distilled water to a battery make sure and charge the battery to mix in the distilled water (use a battery charger and place on a 10-20 AMP charge rate to produce a slight boiling effect. Just a few quick tips...
  22. Check this out guys... Someone got smart and create a killer hood emblems for the 2nd Gen body. They even light up! http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-2nd-gen-all-products/212980-dodge-cummins-hood-emblems-billet.html#post2267932
  23. I'm going to guess you found them in the cross over tube inside the head... That is a Edge Filter and it there to protect the injectors from debris. so if you want you could pull the cross over tube out and try to blow the debris out of it or you could just replace it. If you got debris in one of them you might as well check them all...
