What do you have under your seat?
Bible is actually behind the seat in a brief case with church financial stuff. I'm the treasurer. Yes, believe it or not they do trust me. Besides, stealing from God is bad karma.

Checking 5 volt bus
What am I looking for in checking my 5 volt bus for proper operation? Are we talking just a voltage test? Fuel gauge, coolant temp and transmission shifting have been odd.

Now engine temp gauge reading low
I have no idea how to proceed with this. Other than checking cables.

Now engine temp gauge reading low
I posted a question about my fuel gauge reading higher than normal last week. Sounds like the sending unit in the tank is bad. Today my engine temp is reading about 25* low. Pretty simple and cheap to change thermostat, in fact I have one one hand. Then probably looking at the temp sensor in the head. But now I'm becoming skeptical about these two conditions happening at roughly the same time. About a week apart. Engine operating normal it seems. Just wondering if these two conditions could be related in a weird way?

Fuel Pressure/Filter & Transmission Issues
There is a place in Clackamas that does their own rebuilding inhouse. That might be a good bet. I'm sure they could easily test the alternator you intend to buy. Note to self. Hey, maybe it would be a good business venture to buy all the a/c noise alternators and market them to guys with stick shifts.

Fuel Pressure/Filter & Transmission Issues
Is there anyway to test the new alternator short of installing it and testing on the vehicle. I've heard stories about 6 before finding a good one. What is the issue that causes the A/C noise?

Life with the new 6 Speed Manual
Did you just tie up the electrical connections to the transmission or remove them?

I've been considering this swap, although I'm thinking about the NV4500. Is there a need to swap out any computer components? I know that the auto Trans has electronic control. Do you have any issues with codes thrown by lack of electronic connection to the ECM/PCM? Not sure which would be effected.

What would cause fuel gauge to read higher?
Yeah awesome! I'll call you. Thanks.

What would cause fuel gauge to read higher?
Ok then. Would appreciate the cut list to complete through the bed mod.

What would cause fuel gauge to read higher?
I can't figure out why all of a sudden my fuel guage would start reading higher than normal. It's a cross the range. Doesn't start coming down off full for a longer time. Reading about 1/4 tank and taking 32 gallons. I could understand a float becoming fuel logged and not reading as high as it used to. But all of a sudden it's reading higher. Battery still charging at a constant 14.4 volts. Same as always. Is there a tank access mod through the bed in my future?

O/D Lock-Unlock Issue
I have started having lock up and OD issues too. More cycling between 3rd and lockup and it can't decide at certain speeds/RPM's OD will cycle in and out quickly. Like right in and out. Can I use a non digital VOM to detect the small AC noise from the alternator? I'll start cleaning electrical connections. Anyone using battery connection spray on the connections? You know, the red stuff that dries and seals connections. Would the main negative cable on the right side rubbing on the metal elbow between turbo and intercool potentially be a problem?

I didn't know there was any camber adjustment at all.

You should do a write up. At least the spin off issues not normally considered. Like...did you have to get a 6 speed ECM? What it cost. Parts required. What you learned along the way.

Fuel economy jump
Kind of embarrassed here. I was going off my gauge. When I filled up it took 33 gallons. Still up in mileage, but not as much as reported. The distressing thing is that my gauge still read a bit higher than when it would typically set off the low fuel light and tone. So now I'm kinda confused about what would cause the gauge to read higher than normal. Normally the low fuel light comes on at about 29-30 gallons.

Fuel economy jump
Multiple trips to work. Same route each week. 8 days rather than 6. Can't blame it on terrain or wind, unless I got real lucky and had favored wind each direction all week. Temps in the high 80's and low 90's all week. Warmer than usual. 70's this week. Is this a peek into what a high idle/fooler would do for me?

Fuel economy jump
For some reason my fuel economy jumped about 3 mpg this last tank. Any ideas why? I've done nothing to warrant the jump. Different fuel blend, hot weather? Been buying my fuel from the same location.

What about a snorkel? That would be cool air and allow for going through water 4' deep. Lol.

Son in accident
Be just got home. My wife made him come for some mom time. The areas they took off skin are painful! Pretty nasty. Looks like they went after him with a wood plane and peeled off a layer. He got another 100 Oxy. He took maybe 10 out of the last 100 he got. I thought they were careful with those things. Giving them out like candy in the trauma unit.

Hit a deer @ 60 mph
Will a propane torch apply enough heat? I'm not set up with a big gas torch. I've been told that tubing can be bet if you mark 1" and bend a little at each mark. I also like the larger tubing looks. Like 1.5" or so. I do know a professional welder who may be able to help with bending.
