  1. Here is the brake pad formula for stopping:1. Get 17" wheels.2. Go to junkyard and get third gen caliper brackets.3. Install third gen brakes and rotors. It is possible to get ceramic pads and rotors in third gen sizes.The calipers are the same so you keep the stock ones.

  5. I would by them if they were 30 and came in a 180. I would think the cummins ones come in 190. I live in Florida so I have no need for the 190.
  6. My 01 uses stratopore filters. They have lasted a million miles and the cylinders still have crosshatching. How can there be better filters? Maybe some are just as good, but better?
  7. I have no idea what part number. I just as for the 180.
  8. The cam on the cr motors closes the exhaust early for emissions reasons. This is not the case as much with your 01. If you want cleaner oil you will need a new cam. That is my next upgrade on my 05!
  9. I've towed a little bit with my trucks and the only time my thermostat swings is when its bad or was purchased somewhere other than Napa. My temp stays firmly on 190 when towing unless it is going uphill for a long time. I run the 180 degree tstat. The cummins tstat is a waste of $70 in my opinion. I also change my tstat every 30 to 40k miles.
  10. I second the napa thermostat. It sounds like yours is sticking. Get a 180 degree one from Napa. Make sure it is Napa.

  12. The gm solenoid is an upgrade for the 47re or 48re. People are not using the gm brand solenoid now though. They are using the Borg Warner version because it is cheaper. Same thing otherwise. It will definitely help the 1-2 shift.
  13. I know I can put in a new cluster. I have been trying to get dodge to fix me up with a new cluster that had the right numbers on it.
  14. The problem can be fixed by changing the shift points. Goerend has process for moving a gear in the ttva. Or you can use the dtt shift enhancer.
  15. I thought the same thing when it started happening to me. Then I searched for it and found it was a very common problem.

  19. SC and Georgia are bone flat and maybe a little downhill going south. Florida has overpasses to slow you down. I have a bhaf and no heat shield. I don't know if it helps but I know my setup is better than stock.
  20. The solenoid is for the 1-2 shift. The dtt unit is for the 2-3. I also got the billet accumulator, and a couple other little billet bits with mine. I installed a dtt shift kit as well when I fixed my hunting problem. --- Update to the previous post... Goerend says they don't like the dtt unit. They use a different one. I think they said they had some quality control issues with them. They are now selling something from tst I think. I went with the DTT unit though because goerend had yet to use any of the new ones themselves and I don't want to be the test guy.

  22. I googled "quad xzt 2001 craigslist" That was it.
  23. x2 on the xzt. I got mine for $150 off craigslist. You can turn it off when you want and use it when you want. You don't tap the the pump so install is pretty easy. I have used all of the 65hp tuners and I think this one is the best for towing.
