  1. I am going to Maine this week. We'll see how cold it is...
  2. 200k a year seems about right.
  3. Mine said 70 today. HAHAHA
  4. Myself. I have had 4 transmission., 4 injection pumps, 2 head gaskets...
  5. Gaining? Sounds like a challenge. I love it. I am not sure what you consider a major repair. I have never touched the bottom end. Everything else has broken at least once.
  6. I personally will only run synthetic blinker fluid. Has anyone seen a good price on a CAN OF HONK lately?
  7. I try to do it every 30k. 85/140 is what I use.
  8. I am going to do the 930k service this weekend. I will change the trans fluid, oil and coolant. Other than that the truck is running great.
  9. I definetely see lower egt's and better throttle response from the bigger filter. The truck has more top end power as well. Mine dont last as long as Mike's though. I change them every 30 or 40 k miles.
  10. It works great for me and my brother. Before I got it I had to reset my apps every 1000 miles. I haven't had any problems now since I installed it. --- Update to the previous post... I called Tim and he walked me through the setup as I did it. I told him the values and he told me which way to adjust. Have you callled him about it? The way he had me do it was not the same as the instuctions said.
  11. When I said 75's I meant 75 hp F1 injectors and not the rv ones. I gave my rv's to Mike last year.
  12. I got the thirty. I also placed it as far forward as is possible.
  13. I just installed the fte resonator and it quieted down my truck a lot. The drone is completely gone.
  14. I love that John cannot leave well enough alone. He won't be happy till that enormous trailer does 70 over mountain passes. I wish I could do that with my truck. He is our own very r&d guy and we are better for it. Keep up the detailed research John. I for one hope you pass me on the hills soon!I have had 75's and 100's and if you want more power the 100's are great. The only thing you will need is a bigger turbo. You have an hx-35 so all you need is the bigger turbo for twins and you won't have to worry about egt's. Let me know when you are ready for that. I have an extra big turbo laying around...
  15. I tighten my fuel lines with a 3/4 wrench. I tighten them hard. I then drive and retighten the ones that leak. You have to tighten those things pretty hard.
  16. I have a little experience towing things. I think towing distances requires two things: 1. Reliability 2. Fuel mileage. As far as reliabity goes the less power you make the easier on the motor you are. I myself try to balance between enough power to not have to downshift much and how long I want my tranny to last. Fuel mileage is also a big concern if you are getting paid to drive. A 3000 miles cross country trip can cost $900 at 10 mpg and $750 at 12 mpg. It's easy to see that less can be more. I currently have 100's in my truck. I think they get a little less mileage than my 75's did but they get up to sped faster and they pull the hills a lot better. I would be afraid to have a bigger injector than I have. I actually think I might have too big of an injector because I prefer fuel mileage over not having to downshift.
  17. I had the dead pedal for the longest time. I replaced everything and no help. I bought a $20 bd ground isolator and now I have no problems. I highly suggest you try this.
  18. I just do them all at once. It isn't too expensive and I guard against my cooling system rotting out. I'd like to get a filter on my coolant system but I never think about it when I have some time off.
  19. I changed my oil every 8k to 10k miles with Delo. I change my coolant with whatever is cheapest every 30k. I get my +4 from Walmart every 30k. For the rearend, I use 85-140 non synthetic oil.
  20. Have you checked your coolant level? A blown head gasket could cause that.
  21. I am not sure who makes them. I just get rebuilds from a shop in Tampa. $1050 each.
  22. My 53 block has 912k miles on it. I run the piss out of it. I run it cold and turn it off hot all the time. I also have another 53 block truck with 230k miles on it. I don't lose a minute of sleep over worrying about cracks.
  23. Up and down the east coast for the next couple of weeks. I have tried a few times to help people do this but most pepole want to be home on the weekends and not driving 18 hours a day. It also would be hard for me to find anything in Kansas. I am not saying no I am just sharing some realities.
