  1. It is a drawback to have to wait to have one sent to you but, I bet that it would still be quicker than how long it take to get it from Dodge. I've had it take up to a week to get parts sent from the Dodge whse. to my local dealer. I know when I ordered my Raptor, I received it the next day! Which I have to admit I was totally shocked. Regardless, I wouldn't trust a stock lift pump or a stock retrofit from the dealer! I think the past history speaks for itself when it comes to this area of our trucks.
  2. It's amazing that eveeryone has pretty well shut up about the "global warming" with the present weather plus the all of the cold weather that the south had recently. Just remember all of that money that was spent to combat this "serious" problem!
  3. WOW! If it were me my blood pressure would have been thru the roof! Glad you stuck to your guns! They probably figured that with you flying in to pick it up that you would just accept the "little" problems and call it good!Sounds like your happy with it now.
  4. Makes you think where we are going.
  5. Actually, because we are not "warming" the correct term is now "climate change". They found out they were wrong with all of the hype, now it is time to save face I guess.

  7. There is never a silly question! The worse thing you can do is NOT ask one!
  8. We use to use Delo in all of our semis where I worked before. Never heard anything bad about it. I use it in my tractor now. Haven't had any problems with it.
  9. I didn't do as well. AutoZone has Valvoline Premium Blue on sale for $9.99 / gallon. So, I picked up 6 gallons.
  10. Mine only drops 1 psi as well. a 4-5 psi drop seems like too much. Are you running an electric gauge? If so I would check your wiring. Something is wrong for that type of a pressure drop.
  11. For some reason when I unplug mine, it throws everything off again and it usually takes 2 additional tanks to get it to recalibrate 100%.
  12. That's great! Maybe the thread you sent him helped him with his decision? LOL Man if I was him I would be doing everything in his power to state his beliefs that 5 psi is the WRONG figure! I don't know about everyone else, but when I go shopping for parts (whether it is for the truck or any other equipment) if someone is not giving me good info I take my $'s elsewhere! My name is my REPUTATION, so should anyone's that is in business.
  13. The Ez for the older trucks is under the hood like yours and mine. I forget what year they made the change but they did move it to the cab.
  14. If I am not mistaken, you still need your regular lift pump for start up and then I believe you turn it off and let the mechanical pump go with it. I thought there was a thread on the mechanical pumps, but I can't find it.
  15. Most likely the difference in Psi is from the fuel getting warmed from it getting dumped back into the tank. As cold as it is Flagstaff the fuel is thicker there. Mine gains 1 psi usually after the truck warms up. Side note: You must be working at the prison in Winslow. Not too much else there as I remember!
  16. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/1164-Anothe-fuel-pressure-gauge-question Read this thread. This will show you where to put it. I would go ahead it get it started with a 2 cycle diet. It will help, but it is hard to tell for how long it will keep working. Didn't read the thread correctly about the Air Dog. I ASSUMED!
  17. I wired mine into the fuse panel. Used #14 it was for the dash lights. My kit came with one of those connectors that you put in with the fuse. The gauge light dims when I dim the rest of the dash lights.
  18. . Brazilian Blocks are cast by a company named "TUPY" and are marked such. They are identified with cast evolution numbers. #53's are TUPY's. #54 and later evolutions were improved to correct the block issues that the 53's had. 2. Mexican Blocks were made by "Teksid" these blocks to my knowledge never had a problem with cracking, as they are heavier duty by trait, but they did follow the evolutions and got thicker. These blocks do not have the 2 digit "cast number" embossed on the side, instead a series of numbers that are unidentifiable to me. The Mexican blocks were rumored to even be harder to machine do to a harder cast overall, basically better quality in my opinion. Brazilian Tupys always seem to outnumber Mexican blocks during the ISB's production probably about 8 to 1. So basically if there is a pattern number its Brazilian, if there is a series of small numbers its Mexican. By the way the Mexican equivalent of a 56 pattern was the Heaviest ISB block of all. This means if you have a 2002 without a #56 on it and instead it has a series of numbers that are smaller and hard to identify, you got the the big boy Don't know if this will help you out for your search for info. Good luck!
  19. He has an Airdog 100 so I figured he had good pressure. But, while we are there when was it put on?
  20. The figures are OK. But, remeber the check valve doesn't open up until 14 psi. This is what cools down the VP. Your fine at idle, but it is sketchy for driving. Don't know how long the pump will last with the lower readings.
  21. :iagree:You can read this too: http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/2ndgen24v/vp44-replace/vp44-error.htm
  22. Just follow the wire hooked to the positive cable on the drivers side. Don't know what the cost is.
  23. Well they say sex sells. Just not sure what is being sold!
  24. I use an Isspro mechanical gauge. Looks a lot like the rest of the stock gauges in the truck already. Have not had any problems with mine. You only need a gauge upto 30 psi. It was an easy install as well.
  25. As long as he was happy! That's all that counts!
