  1. Double check to make sure that the bolts to the calipers are tight, as well, make sure that the sleeves that the caliper bolts go thru are seated properly. Speaking from experience. What you describe is what happened to me. One of the caliper bolts had worked its self out (the sleeve was not seated properly) and was causing the symptoms you described. Make sure that you have the bolts lubed with grease as well.

No, it didn't get hit. Charged the battery and pushed in on the valve on the rail and it started up. I don't know what she did to it. Been running ever since. Have to wait and see if it happens again to do any more diagnosing.
  3. I think there are different ones. When I bought my truck it had one under the seat. It wasn't bolted in. It is now, but, at a slight angle the holes don't line up correctly. Unless mine is from a different truck.
  4. Well, I have 50* and mud in the vineyard. Have so much to do before bud break. but the tractor in 4 wd just spins in mud!

    I will try that. Thanks.
  6. I used sealant from the tank to the fuel filter. Where ever there was threads.
  7. Try www.nadaguides.com. Click on Rv tab. You'll figure out the rest!
  8. Did you use any sealant on all of the fittings? This happened to me when I put my system on. Thought I had everything tight. Used some sealant from Napa, one part is spray and the other is in a tube. Made specifically for diesel fuel. Used that, and haven't had a problem since. It's pricey, but well worth it when I know there is no air leaks coming from the fittings! Good luck!

Mom has a 95 F150 with a 5.8 in it. She went out to try to start it and it cranks and every once in a while it acts like it wants to start but will not. I have checked both fuse panels and no problems there. It has dual tanks and I tried both tanks and same results. I am thinking a fuel problem. But, don't know a thing about this truck. Any help as to where the fuel pump is and anything else that might be useful in diagnosing this problem would be appreciated!
  10. Sorry guys! Hopefully this will work! Doesn't look like it I try to enlarge the picture it will not get bigger. Look closely on the back of the car. There is a 3 wheeler strapped to the trunk of the car!

He flew around the block to take a picture. I guess maybe I should get rid of my truck and trailers when I need to haul my 4 wheelers around!
  12. Yeap there has been several updates... Just called them and found out version 3.15 is out and I've got the orignal 3.0 software... So I'm going to ship mine back for a free software update... Mike, I have 3.17 on my unit. Are you telling me that 3.15 is newer than 3.17?
  13. Mine must be broken. Just fired the truck up. Its 35* outside. The ScanGauge shows 2.11 GPH, and if I pop the pedal it jumped upto 2.89 GPH.
  14. $3.41 in Dayton, oregon. Went up 6 cents on the first for higher road taxes.
  15. I used sheet metal from a roll of flashing that I had. Used tin snips. Slides in between the grill and the frame. No bolts. Boy this has helped my temp. tremendously. Before, I installed them I was lucky if I could get upto 120* in the winter. Now, I am at 188*. Best of all MPG's went up!
  16. key trick will not work on a 99. You will need a code reader.
  17. A 1688 code is for your fuel pump. First, we need to know what year odf truck you have and all of the "extra" you have. Some thongs you can do to get started are: Bump the starter, you should be able to hear the pump run for about 25 seconds. Next, disconnect the fuel line from the pump to the injector pump. Bump the starter, fuel should be pumping out of the line. If you have no positive action on these two steps it is time for a new fuel pump most likely. But, we need to know more about your truck for a definate diagnosis. This will get you started. Repost wth all of the info!
  18. If you're using the Raptor wiring harness, then it would be like mine.Mine didn't work one time. There is a white button on the connector whit all of the wires. (the button is in the center of the connector) Use a screwdriver and push the button in and remove and install the fuse. I did this and my system came back to life. I also put dielectric grease on every connection that dealt with the fuel system. Have had no problems since.
  19. Thanks are not enough for our VETS! But, Thank You!
  20. If you are using the wiring harness that came with it, there is a fuse that would be in the engine compartment on the harness. Plus use dielectric grease on all fittings. (speaking from past experience.)
  21. I use an Isspro mechanical gauge. 0-30 psi is all you need. Love my unit. No problems with it.
  22. Key trick doesn't pull from both computers on a 2000. Go to a parts store and get the codes read again. The 1693 is telling us there is at least one more code!
  23. Check on the inlet side of the pump. There is a screen inside the pump that may have gotten plugged after you installed the draw straw.
  24. No, it wasn't me! His thinking was that you took 1 hand off the steering wheel while driving! Didn't try to reason with him! Not too many automatic semis running around to solve that problem!
