Happy Halloween!
When I was in S. Utah, they called it "trunk or treat". You would go to set parking lots and the candy would be in the trunks of cars. You could hit a hundred cars in a an hour! They did that for safety concerns. Didn't have to worry about the crazies in the neighborhood!

Any one have there CDL class A license?
If you have already done the pre-trip part of the license and the writtens you have gone thru the hardest part IMOP. I remember when I did my driving test the examiner said I was NOT to change gears during the intersection, starting from a stop. When your pulling a semi and a pup, it would take 2 light changes to do that!

Lift Pump Recommendations?
Sorry to say there is no quality bolt in replacement for the 2nd gen trucks. If your strapped for cash I would recommend a Raptor 100. I believe they are around $360 now. Yes it is a lot! But, faulty stock fuel pumps will take out the VP. That is a $1000 item plus labor. I use an Isspro mechanical fuel pressure gauge. If you go with a mechanical gauge discard the isolator and use a needle valve instead. Have you checked to make sure that the fuel filter is not plugged? Have you checked visually that no fuel is coming out of the outlet side of your existing pump? Good luck!

Valvoline Premium Blue
I was in Napa this morning and they have Premium Blue on sale for $9.99. I don't need any (bought my supply when Oreileys had it on sale). Don't know when it goes off sale. But at that price, I figured I would pass on the info to everyone!

Air Dog Raptor
I use a Raptor 150. Had it set for 18 psi. Then after the thread on the vp pump I raised it up to 20 psi. Now it dropss 1 psi at wide open throttle. Before it was like 2.5 psi. Have had absolutely no problems with it. Mounted it on the inside of the frame.

Tranny Troubles
I would start off with checking for codes. The key trick will not work. Also, I have heard sometimes that loose connections on your battery terminals can give you fits with proper operation of the tranny. Sounds crazy I know!

VP44 Finally Quit
How are you trying to pull the codes? Key trick will not work on your year truck. If you have a code reader you should be able to clear it that way. If not go to a parts store and have them check for codes. Disconnecting the cables will not clear the CEL.

My shocks are shot...
Been looknig into that as well! AutoZone is $58.99 and Napa is $49.88 & $51.99. Just trying to see which is best. Right now leaning towards Napa because of the info they give. Both companies are Monroe as well.

checking for red dye
Where I am at, you can fill up 5 gal. jugs and tell them it is for off road use. You have to put your name and address down and say what it is used for. You get charged without the tax and it comes out of the same pump. I can burn thru 5 gal. of diesel in 4 hours of spraying. So, that is how you solve the "red" dye diesel here if you get what I am saying! LOL

O'reilly's Has Vavoline 15W-40 Premium Blue on Sale for $9.99 a Gallon Limit of 8!
No, it is cj-4sm. If you're trying to find the old ci-4, you would probably have better luck checking with a distributor of oil products. Probably better luck in smaller towns. O'reilly's and other major parts stores get it shipped into their whse and they order from there.

Tractor Forum
Any one else having a problem logging on to this site? I get a 403 code if I use the link from a thread on this site. When I type in the the address I get a GO-DADDY page. Maybe they are banning me from the site? LOL

Raptor install
Neither did I. I have mine running from the top of the fuel filter. I used all of the fittings that came with my set up. The only banjo bolt that I didn't change was from the filter to the VP.

front pads
Mine were doing the same thing. Wearing on the piston side quicker. Put a new set on from AutoZone (Lifetime) and pads (Lifetime) (on my 3rd setsince owning the truck) and lubed the slider pins and no problem since! I wouldn't settle for the lower weighted pads either!

Look what I brought home
Congrats!
