  1. Easy fix. There are no figure 8s.... Literally drive in circles and it'll calibrate itself. IMO it's worth it, but it's up to you in the end!
  2. IMO the trip is worthless either way. I just like the compass and temperature readouts
  3. My dad would be so jealous of the dozer! His is in a million pieces Those lower goosenecks have always scared me... I like my bed! Your place looks awesome @Cowboy!
  4. Good for you Mike! Take time as needed. We all need a break now and then.
  5. I did this swap on my 02. Sad to say the harness for the computer is not there. You'd have to remove the harness from each truck and swap them. It runs down the A pillar and plugs in under the dash. The PCM doesn't need flashed or anything; all the info is there. It does involve pulling down the front of the headliner, but you don't have to completely remove it. A bit of a pain, but well worth it IMO. If you have any other questions about the swap just ask.
  6. Goats remind me of cats. I'll use the phrase "little buggars"
  7. I don't think it takes 4 hours to see what someone else has done... Should be less than an hour if the "out of town mechanic" stayed away from the tank. Gauge wise, my brother, my dad, and I all run autometer. My dad's have been in since 2001 and he's yet to have any issues. That's why my brother and I went that route. I hear good things about isspro though, and I wouldn't hesitate to run them. I think it's just personal preference. Haven't heard of the "colorized" gauge, but I wouldn't think you could see it too well during the day.
  8. Is the compressor contacting the compressor housing?? You may have to tear the rest of the air system apart if it is. Oil wise, I'm not sure but I doubt much if anything was going down the drain tube. If it was I'm sure it was caught in the oil filter.
  9. Cool numbers! I would have to say the same. Take it to a shop with a genuine holset kit and have them rebuild it for you.
  10. eBay is your friend here.... Those can be had cheaper there. Column pod is like 35 or so. The fittings you can get on eBay too
  11. Mine came with the quadzilla, but Ebay has tons of high quality cheap ones. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1311.R1.TR2.TRC1.A0.H0.XAuto+Meter+trans.TRS0&_nkw=autometer+trans+temp+gauge&_sacat=0
  12. Welp.... Mike and I are out! Only 50 bucks though
  13. Yes you need more filtration!!! It's even more important on CRs that VP trucks
  14. I'm pretty sure you're way overthinking it. There is no fluid that is going to make it shift like new again. At 250K it's likely the syncros are getting pretty worn down. Will you see a nominal improvement? Maybe, but it could all be in your head after you change it. Run whatever you feel like, and I'm sure it'll be ok. At some point it'll have to be rebuilt anyway. BTW I am not footing the bill!
  15. I would assume I don't have it but I'm not sure. How do I tell?
  16. By chance do you remember the cost?
  17. Now you're scaring the crap outta me! Let's hear the story....
  18. I use high temp permatex RTV now, but I've used all sorts of stuff and never had an issues.
  19. That's 95gph.... Same thing I've got
  20. Hmmm at 2000 rpm it's only flowing 75gph... I can suck my 95gph down pretty easily. Not sure if it would do what I'm looking for.
  21. Unhook both sides of the sway bar, unhook the track bar, remove the shocks and shock towers, then lift the frame far enough you can get the springs out. The spacer should fall out with it. Then do the reverse. Much easier if you remove the tires to drop the axle too. Do you have a weight distribution hitch for your camper? Most of campers I see have them.
  22. Looking into those myself! Make sure to post up some pics when you get em on.
  23. Different spring rates on the 2nd gens making them stiffer no matter what?
