Precision of New Hampton Iowa is who they use.

I about tipped over when I saw the prices he quoted as well! Anyone have experience with "Precision" brand tq converters? This is the converter company the tranny shop uses that is being put into my 2010 tranny rebuild.

47re build
I ran a single disc BD converter and VB rated for 450HP 750TQ with OEM input at 560 hp and 986 tq for many years as a sled puller and a few drags mixed in, sold it with over 150K on the clock and the tranny was still holding together fine other than a broken output shaft which was replaced with a billet other than that it was still OEM.

Use of Anit Seize
On all brake components I use it liberally on all of my vehicles.

Starting to mod my 2010 Hemi.
Since the tranny issue I have not drive it much so I can't say for sure on the miss, I am leaning towards the tranny causing some of the noise I may have heard as of now, will hold off until I get some miles on it for a couple weeks after the tranny is done. I usually run my oil to 7500 miles but have never ran the cheaper quality Amsoil XL oil in anything I own personally before owning this Hemi which holds 7 qts so I decided to try it, I usually run the signature series and this kind of set me back on my heels when I saw the TBN that low and was flagged as such on the results. I switched to the signature series now and will pull samples more frequent for the next 10K miles or so to see what's happening. I was going to get in touch with Amsoils tech dept and have them check into this as well, the oil lab double tested after I contacted them about it and the results and came back the same. I switched from Amsoil 5w20 XL which is recommended for the MDS equipped Hemi engines to Amsoil 5w 30 signature series which is the same oil recommended for my Nissan Murano Crosscabriolet convertible so I don't have to have so many different oils on the shelf. I never noticed a gain in mileage with the mds anyhow so from here on out I will just run with it turned off by turning on the tow haul mode every time.

Spent some money on the 05.
Just got home from 75 mile round trip to town, date night at the PRCA Badlands circuit rodeo with the Mrs. tonight, this thing is music to my ears now, sound level in cab is awesome and still has a nice tone at the tip. Seems to spool a bit smoother and a bit faster as well by getting rid of the Cat.

Starting to mod my 2010 Hemi.
Well not the mods I wanted to start with but the 2010 Hemi is now at the tranny shop getting a rebuild with upgrades, hopefully have it done by next weekend and see what they found wrong with it. Once back I will load up the Bully Dog premium gas tune as that's all I run anyhow and let her buck and see what happens from there, got the engine oil sample back and it showed no unusual wear metals indicating a cam or lifter failure but I found my oil base number was almost totally depleted at 2.25 left "2.0 Is considered critical and gone" and the oil is rated at 9.0 base number when new so at 5k miles on the oil I changed the oil to a different better grade from amsoil, I had been using the XL series oil which is their lower grade oil so I went to the Signature series which is their best and will do some more sampling in the future to watch how it holds up from here on out.

Just got done testing out the new additions to the 05 Cummins. Removed the catalytic converter and installed a 30" resonator in its place, I retained pretty much the entire stock exhaust system. I had previously had removed the muffler and put a muffler delete pipe in its place and today I put the resonator in the exact spot the cat was in as it is mounted directly behind the down pipe. I only had to chop the rear section of pipe off the factory cat in order to have the right length of piping and to get the right angles on the pipe going back from there, it was about a 10 in piece and it worked out very well. Initial test went for a 5 mile drive and it is about 50% quieter than the factory cat straight pipe system and the ear piercing drone seems to be gone inside the cab but you can still make out a good exhaust tone to it, even at idle it is about 75-50% quieter at the end of the pipe than it was which I like a lot better too, seemed to eliminate some of the vibration while driving also that was related to the drone tone. Also installed the 1/2 inch line Vulcan 3 micron fuel filter kit that mounts under the factory intake and it turned out good as well, I got a bit worried as I have a home designed remote bypass engine oil filter I have mounted in front of the intake and the hoses coming off the front of the fuel filter housing clear my bypass filter by about 1/4 inch at best with some adjustments but it worked, no leaks after the test drive all is good and I now have a bit more piece of mind in more ways than one lol.

Re-locating Frantz system
I personally would not run that hose on a lubrication application like engine oil, push lock can pop apart and you are correct in the heat issue, your engine oil can get hotter than that and the spot that would come apart would be at the fitting. Look for Aeroquip hose with reusable fittings, it would fit the bill a bit better than push lock in this instance. Just a quick hose search for Henderson area popped up several options. http://www.superpages.com/yellowpages/C-Hydraulic+Hoses+%26+Fittings/S-NV/T-Henderson/

Fuel Gelling with 2-stroke oil
For starters 2 stroke oil isn't an anti gel for a diesel one adds it to diesel fuel for added lubricity only. What do you have for fuel in it right now any winterized or blended fuel or any other additives for cold flow anti waxing ect? When was the last filter change? What area of the country are you from?

Resonator and filter kit both showed up today so after I haul the 2010 to the tranny shop Friday I will install the filter kit and see what I need to cobble the factory exhaust system to fit the resonator after I remove the cat lol.

47re build
Depends a lot on the tranny shop you have to work with and if they are comfortable warrantying others carry in products in the tranny they will build for you, lots of variables there, definitely shop around. Just got off the phone with the tranny shop that's going to do the tranny in my 2010 Hemi next week, he charges a set price of $2395 and it comes with new improved clutches, shift kit and other VB mods & new heavier duty TC set up for ones needs and use, then he charges $700 to R&R and testing & calibrations afterwards.

Re-locating Frantz system
Where exactly are you to not have any sort of truck or equipment stores around? Literally any sort of equipment dealer will / should have the basics to make or sell bulk hose be it a truck shop or any kind of equipment dealer. Even equipment rental places that have their own service centers could help.

Most farm / fleet stores and shops have the basics as well.

For internal Billet parts I would not run anything but his in my own personal rigs, put his billet output shaft in my 02 after I snapped my stocker at 1/8 miles drag races. I did manage a 7.86 second first run that day with an asleep at the wheel reaction time, second run left me sitting at the line at launch. I met Opie at the NHRA drags in Billings years ago and had lengthy conversations with him, he is very picky and precise about his stuff as is normal with someone running his own company besides his day job as a machinist at Boeing and making these things himself.

For billet goodies go here. http://www.opieparts.com/ I had great luck with my BD VB and converter in my 02. Here lots of horror stories about bad customer service and warranty after the sale with ATS but no actual experience with them personally, this even comes from other diesel and non diesel forums I am on.

Spent some money on the 05.
It has never experienced the GT yet, it started acting up slightly a couple months ago I noticed an odd shift on occasion but never thought much of it, that was before I even bought the used BD GT. I do tow my pontoon fairly regular in the summer, local tranny shop I will be going to for repair say they see a ton of the newer trannies from cummins and Hemi powered rigs, nothing new to them at all.

I never buy new either, I buy them used but still with minimum of a years worth of factory warranty left on them, try to stay under 25K miles when buying them.

Already checked that, warranty expired in October, it is an early 2009 built 2010.

80K miles on it, and it only had 3/36 warranty. I am guessing this will cost me $3K+-

Been several years since doing anything to ol trusty.... my 05. Getting older and having a hearing aid now and having been driving it lately since my 2010 Hemi has been acting up "Found out today I need a tranny overhaul", I find I can't take the drone of straight pipe from cat back in the cab anymore so I ordered a 30" resonator from FTE diesel to see how much quieter it gets, will remove the factory cat at this time as well. Also ordered a Vulcan 3 micron fuel filter kit with pressure sender tap because some day I might actually add gauges lol.

what size of tranny in 01
Thanks Tom, I knew the 12V had switched to the RE before the 24v came along just didn't know the year of the switch.

what size of tranny in 01
Second gen autos were 47RH behind 12V and 47RE behind the 24v, early 03 third gens had 47re yet too, buddy of mine has an early 03 with a 47RE. 48RE came in 03 in the third gens.

Airdog quality
On my 02 I ran a Westach FP gauge W/O a snubber with my FP150 Fass no issues in the several years I had the setup. I have no gauges on my 05 yet. Of all the gauges on the market I am a big fan of the reliability of Westach overall, nothing fancy but reliable and durable like no other.
