  1. Due to the cost, I have torn out my home security system and resigned from the Neighborhood Watch Program. I have installed a Syrian flag on my front porch, an Iranian flag next to my flower bed, and the black flag of ISIS waves from my roof-top. The state police, city police, sheriff, FBI, CIA and Homeland Security are all watching my house 24/7. I've never felt safer.
  2. Welcome to the family! Sounds like you got things going your way other than the bank account seeing what you have put into it knowing you went in under full understanding it was a "Mechanic special".
  3. Meanwhile.....Back in Minnesota MnTom and the Buds out for a day on the water in January.
  4. I was laughing out loud when I saw this pic of me78569, this is about as good of a portrayal of "Blue Top" Ryan as one can get. He is about that goofy and does wear suspenders as well almost freaky amazing how much they look alike.
  5. Kind of like the family who went to the genealogist to trace their family tree and the genealogist started looking into things and after a short while handed them a pack of seeds and said to just start over.
  6. North Dakota has the happiest women in the nation. How do....es you...r state "Measure up"? Makes sense since North Dakota has now beaten out Hawaii for the Happiest state in the nation. http://www.mnn.com/lifestyle/eco-tourism/stories/hawaiis-not-the-happiest-anymore-guess-which-state-is-on-top
  7. They can't predict daily weather but they want us to believe the earth is going to end in a few years due to man made climate change based on the same science/people used to predict weather..............................................
  8. A well trained Heeler dog would do the trick. Just be sure to have a dash cam running the whole time.
  9. Take your pick and figure out who is who, there are 4 MM forum members in this one single pic alone. A hint is one is myself and 3 are Florida members and one of them should be an easy one to pick out.
  10. Anyone ever try the Dyna trac ball joints? I hear they have been very good overall. I have the carli Ball joints in my 05 and need to replace tem again but I got the early version which they had metallurgy issues with and they warranty for life I just need to get hold of them for a new set some day.
  11. Do you know what the new used one came out of like year or possibly 3500 single rear wheel or something like that. They do goofy things if it comes from a different casting plant in other countries a lot of times, niot uncommon to see this.
  12. He had to think about it for a bit then broke out laughing when he remembered it, said there was a bit of libations at work that night as well. Sounds like Roberts Old Cardone special gear box is a dead horse, was cobbled together and is un-repairable, said it looked to have been in an accident and had some bent parts.
  13. Yeah if you want to fitness full blown redneck ingenuity any body of ice with fish will have plenty of this sort of thing of some sort on it around here, amazing what kind of crazy ideas folks come up with when it comes to ice fishing shacks. The craziest though are the guys who buy $20-30K Ice castles and drag them out on the ice, these things are nicer than a lot of high end campers, no way I would drag that kind of coin out onto the ice but there are a ton of them around here, guys use them as campers in the summer and hunting shacks in the fall so as long as they are using them I guess its all ok but I just personally would not drag one out on the ice. http://www.icecastlefh.com/ This one is built 20 miles from my house and I know the family who builds them, they are a bit more realistic that the ice castle. https://www.reelweeds.com/products/zack-shack/
  14. You know him too? Yeah he is lucky to have his fingers attached to his hand yet after that incident with his lathe it was pretty ugly. He stopped in my office and asked if I was the one who referred Robert to him, there are 3 of us named Bill here at work, he figured it was me but asked to make sure and thanked me for the business referral.
  15. Not sure if you have seen this section but here it is if not. Worth the time to read and eliminate some more using the links below as a guide. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes
  16. He doesn't know I refer people to him or that I am doing so on forums, he actually has a nice 95 Cummins 4X4 reg cab dually he built his own tilt bed flat bed for, turned out real nice. He works in the shop for me quite a bit and is a good jack of all trades kind of guy, hard to find handy guys like him who can do anything now days. I will ask him about it next time I see him, I'll tell him he owes me commission now lol. Looked at the schedule and today is his day off this week. Will give him some grief tomorrow night if I see him.
  17. A co-worker has been rebuilding them since he was a kid with his dad, he has since bought the company from his dad and is a stand up guy. Ryan Vigessa is his name. Give him a shout and see what he can do for you. http://www.bluetopsteeringgears.com/
  18. As long as you are already rolling it does, from a dead start on very slick surfaces I have been stuck one wheeling it many times reaching for the t-case lever.
  19. Nope have not picked a diff, need to get the other issues nailed down first before I go any further. engine Issues have been on going noticeably a couple months before the BD was even a thought and the tranny has been giving me signs for a few weeks as well. One can follow the thread over on RamforumZ, I just started it a bit ago, I am waiting on a return PM from a member who is a tranny specialist over there, hoping he pops into the thread with some pointers. I like the clutch type because they are bullet proof and simple and cheap to repair or reclutch and I can adjust the amount of tension on the units to make it act almost like a full Detroit locker or as little tension to act as an open diff. I have the helical in my 05 and it has left me reaching for 4X4 many many times due to not enough wheel speed or torque transfer to react and engage on extremely slick surfaces like green grass, loose gravel or ice with a trailer on back.
  20. You do not need a case spreader for an AAM as they have adjuster rings for the carrier bearings not shimmed like a Dana which over the years and hundreds of Danas I have rebuilt have never ever needed a case spreader, having worked in a gear shop we had one but never did a single person ever use the dana case spreader, just hung on the rack collecting dust and rusting. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from the Gov lock "G80", they are not reliable and are a pain to repair and do not perform very well, there are too many parts that can and do fail in the gov locks, they over complicated a simple task with the design of that unit. Go with an OEM which is a helical design or a clutch type and save the hassles.
  21. Picked it up from dealer this morning and it threw 2 codes before I even got home, both 4th and 5th ratio codes again and it went into limp mode again, they drove it two times and couldn't recreate it. Damn dumb luck timing on my part but it may work for me as I have documentation of them not finding any issues now so I am looking into extended warranty options before it dies completely, will sit in my garage until I know for sure. I am pulling an oil sample on the engine as well now too just to see whats going on in there if anything, have potentially 6-7K of repairs upcoming so 2500 extended warranty will pay off if it works out. Before I left dealership I talked with finance guys to look into extended warranty options as I know this thing has issues, looking at a Chrysler 4 year unlimited mileage $200 deductible for 2100-2400 depending on which plan I go with. Priced out a tranny alone and it was $3800 carry out if my core is good. so based on that alone I am ahead already. I just need to talk to the service manager and get something in writing as they already saw the BD tuner in the cab so before I spend 2500 on an extended warranty I want it in writing that if they turn a blind eye today they won't come back on the next issue and say no no you had a tuner in the cab no warranty. Just want to cover my butt and make sure they will stand behind an extended warranty plan. Service writer said I never saw it so no issues here wink wink, mechanic says opposite we know about it warranty can be denied. Will have a visit with them on Monday to see.
  22. The backing of carpet in most vehicles is rubber / plastic lined as well so it comes down to being able to clean the outer surface easier without the carpet in the end, they all have the ability to trap moisture under them especially the synthetic carpets of today, they do not breath any better than a plastic bag.
  23. Should drop right in, GM, Dodge and Ford all ran the AAM for a couple years but Ford went back to Dana again after they released a bigger diff then the D80. When I picked up the factory LS unit for my 05 there were a ton of options for the AAM 11.5. I went with an OEM LS unit as it was the most economical unit at the time, I am not overly sold on its operation it is a load /slip sensing LS it acts as an open diff until is senses slip and it then locks but is slow to engage if going slow on very slick surfaces like green grass, ice mud ect, I still get one wheel wonder at times, I need to goose it to get enough momentum or slippage difference for it to lock. I would look for a clutch type if I had to do it again.
  24. My 99 Laramie SLT 2500 V10 came with factory rubber flooring and it was the best thing ever, I would recommend it to anyone who actually uses their rigs or drags dirt mud snow ect in. I loved it sweep it out and wipe it out. It was way easier to keep clean that carpeting is. If I ever had to replace carpeting in a pickup I would go back with the OEM rubber hands down.
  25. Going to pull a UOA and monitor, dealer did compression test and test drove and can not find anything out of the ordinary as of now and tranny issues seem to have disappeared after reflash, time to drive and monitor.
