  1. Toms last post is blank for me????????....................Not funny. Police officer pulls over a speeding car. The Officer says, " I clocked you at 80 mph. sir." The driver says, "Gee, officer, I had it on cruise control at 60, perhaps your radar needs calibrating." Not looking up from her knitting the wife says sweetly, "Now don't be silly dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control." As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, "Can't you keep your mouth shut for once?" The wife smiles demurely and says, "You should be thankful your radar detector went off when it did." As the officer makes out the second ticket for the illegal radar detector unit, the man glowers at his wife and says through clenched teeth, "Dammit, woman, can't you keep your mouth shut." The officer frowns and says, "And I notice that you're not wearing your seat belt, sir. That's an automatic $75 fine." The driver says, "Yeah, well you see officer, I had it on, but took it off when you pulled me over so that I could get my license out of my back pocket." The wife says," Now dear you know very well that you didn't have your seat belt on. You never wear your seat belt when you're driving." And as the police officer is writing out the third ticket the driver turns to his wife and barks, "WHY DON'T YOU SHUT THE HELL UP??" The officer looks over at the woman and asks, "Does your husband always talk to you this way, Ma'am?" "Oh heavens no, officer. Only when he's been drinking."
  2. The rival state college UND in Grand Forks has always had a national power house Hockey team that rivals the NDSU football program. Many hockey players from UND have found careers in the NHL and Olympic teams over the years.
  3. Game is on ESPN 2 at 12 noon CST if you have access to it, I don't have cable or a dish so I will check in on the radio.
  4. Now that there is funny!!!!!!!!!!! Kinda makes a guy want to start waxing after thinking about that last comment.......................................
  5. Update! New personal achievement. Today marks the one year mark of working out every single day for a year without missing a single day. Did 1/2 hour a day on ellipticle for 7 months and then it broke down and the next day I did about an hour of floor exercises which didn't do it for me so the next day I tried my hand at running, did 3 miles non stop first day and ran everyday for the next 3-4 months and averaged 3.5 - 5 miles a day until winter set in now back to ellipticle and running when weather allows. Plus I added a strength routine to my daily regiment to tone up a bit and have been exercising 1.5 hours a day everyday for about 4 months now, a friend gave me an old total gym which I have been using the heck out of for about 15-20 minutes everyday. Had my latest Blood panel and BMI and all was perfectly normal and my BMI was almost perfect as well, My DR said I have the best BMI of any patient over 40 years old he has seen in his practice, pretty good considering the first BMI in January showed I was 90 lbs over weight and I got it to within 5+- lbs of text book perfect in less than a year. Wife is so proud of me and is happy to finally have a running partner as well but she is now on edge because after 6 years of running full and half marathons I have finished the last two 5k races only 2 seconds behind her lol. last 5k I did 24 minutes 30 sec. Not bad for only having been running for 4 months if I do say so myself. Started this last year at 282 and am a solid 202 and holding for the last couple months, but I have converted the last bit of fat to muscle with the new routine which I needed to do as is normal when one loses that much weight I lost some muscle mass with it as my BMI from a few months back showed but I made that back up once I started the resistance routine with my daily cardio be it ellipticle or running. It is fun when someone who hasn't seen me for a long time see me, they do double and triple takes and some need to hear my voice to know it is really me. Some ask if I am sick or have something wrong with me as I have always been a big man ever since college. I am now back to my high school pant and cloths size again and it feels great although it cost me a fortune in cloths. Went from a tight double extra lovely "2XXL" shirt size to medium and large in some and a screaming tight 38 pant size to a comfortable 34 now.
  6. I used to be that way as well, now only use cash for face to face transactions for certain things like personal protection devices ect. I use 1 CC for all other purchases everyday. never carry a balance and get an average of $800-1K a year of free money back just for using it with the rewards points which is what I use for our vacation spending money, The card I use has travel expense eraser which is awesome. I lost a wallet once with about 200 bucks cash in it in a snow drift along a rural hwy, long story lol. Being a cheap skate that is when I cut back and mostly quit carrying cash. My wife still deals with cash a lot but is a business owner and has access to it more readily than me although I find it in the washer and dryer almost every load, she is bad about stuffing her pockets and forgetting it.
  7. Since its cold out and I don't want to go outside unless I have to, I thought I would start a mood lifting thread for all to share in. I will start.
  8. The "Thundering Herd" is playing for their 4th straight national championship this Saturday in Frisco TX against Illinois ST. so you can about imagine what the talk is all about around here. Pretty remarkable considering they have a new quarter back and head coach this year and only lost 1 game this season which ended a 38 game winning streak. They have won the National championship 3 years in a row going for 4 which has never happened in college football FCS league, if they win it will be national title #12 for the Herd. Several co-workers are headed down as they are NDSU alum, Frisco TX loves NDSU and the town totally caters to us like no other, All who go down there say everyone in town has Bison flags and banners all over and all bar and restaraunt personel wear bison attire as well, must be pretty intimidating for the other visiting teams to go to another town in another state and be totally overwhelmed by NDSU Bison fans. For a state with only 700K people we fill most of the stadium which is what impresses the folks from Frisco TX as they have never seen as much support for any team that has ever visited there for championship games as ND supplies. They say its actually pretty pathetic how little support most other states and colleges fall short in that. Feel the excitement here!!!!!! https://www.facebook.com/NDBison
  9. The cam may be different from an automotive application but the crank and the remaining rods could be salvaged as well as the head and entire front gear case. Injectors could be used as cores, in short about the only thing I would scrap is the block and bad rod.
  10. Well if he had a Mcyucks burger and fries from 2001 in there it would still look like it did the day he picked it up too. But hey they still say 100% beef. , A friend of mine has had one on a plate on his book case shelf for about 6 or more years and it too looks like it was just bought that day, no rot mold or decay of any sort and to think people think it is actually food. I think my wife can clean that much change out of her Jetta on a monthly basis lol. I never carry cash so this isn't an issue plus the fact I drive mostly gravel roads and rattles drive me nuts so I keep little things like that cleaned out of my rigs.
  11. On my end here in ND, I use only Cenex fuels. We have been going through a lot of station swaps lately, a lot of Tesoro stations are switching to Exxon, there have been others too I have noticed going to other brands from Tesoro as well, have not talked to anyone about why the switch is happening though. I never liked Tesoro anyhow, nothing I own be it gas or diesel ran very good or have as much power as when running Cenex and they have never let me down over the years. If I had to run something other than Cenex it was Conoco but we don't even have that anymore in Bismarck Mandan area.
  12. I could see the benefit on aftermarket lift pump filters that hang below the rig out in the open cold elements but for the most part it is making up for some ones lack of preplanning in the end.
  13. Yep there are several sites I see with Bakken fail of the day photos and videos. Most farmers and construction companies and even gas stations around here have foreign workers now days, most are from Mexico, and a lot of eastern European / Russian block countries as well as many other places. Pretty sad when our society has eroded to the point that most would rather accept government handouts from my pocket rather than take a "meaningful" job and we wonder why we have so many foreigners wanting to come here, they actually want to work and do dang good work at that.
  14. lol, saw that one a few weeks ago. Sometimes a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do..............................I'm more interested in how he coupled it up like that.
  15. MMMMMM, I love to eat crow. http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/287573441.html
  16. No different than what I see half ton pickup pulling around here.
  17. Next is to clear them and see which ones come back if any. Code list here. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes
  18. I am not talking about gelling point alone but more generically, that's what the science should be but I and every other tech in the northern plains all can and will testify that there is are "PFM" powers at work because at equal sub zero temps the same piece of equipment acts and starts differently when it is parked out of the wind versus in direct wind all other factors being the as close to the same as possible.
  19. That is where the confusion comes in, there are no tags on the new ones anymore and no sticker ect and the axle housing is the same only a carrier difference. Until I found the site linked where they show a difference in the cover, no other site showed that even all the gear manufacturers missed that. It is still a 9.25 Chrysler carrier they just made some changes to it, bigger bolts to hold the ring gear for one. I have read on other forums where some have drilled out the factory ring gear and retapped it so to be able to put a regular 9.25 Chrysler in its place and it has worked.
  20. It is the part of knowing the wind is blowing and to park nose into the wind before opening a door.
  21. Make sure the pins are not pushed out of the connector under the dash for the OBDII port, have seen this happen several times. Check that all wires are pushed into the connector and that when you hook up a reader or programmer it doesn't push them out the back. Then you can start pinning out the harness for issues.
  22. They just slide on the existing mirrors like a rail system and they have a plastic thumb screw that tightens against a plastic wedge you can see in the pics that basically wedge them against the existing plastic housing. So you have a couple of plastic housings wedged together and at 75 mph in windy conditions you could imagine the flex and vibration issues I encountered. If it was calm or if one was driving say under 65 mph they were pretty decent.
  23. Welcome to the forum Cory. I am pulling a blank on what "DLC" is? Take a few moments and fill out your signature to let us know more about your ride and mods if any.
