  1. Did you pull both drums / brakes apart fully? I always always leave one side alone so I can look at it. I honestly can't remember, but they are side / front back specific.
  2. not my pictures, I will have to see if that makes a difference. I kinda doubt it will as the issue started happening a few months ago, so I can only assume something wore out causing the main shaft to slide back a little more and thus my grinding happens.
  3. So the wiretap connects to the fueling solenoid in the VP44. I am GUESSING, again GUESSING, that since you check for 12v when the truck has power but not turned on for the wiretap, that grounding the solenoid wire holds the solenoid open and thus controls the amount of fuel is allowed to be sent to the injectors. Now what the Edge / quad / tst does is alter how long the solenoid is held open by grounding the wiretap for a prolonged period ( milliseconds) once it senses the ecm ground the wire. This makes the solenoid hold open for longer than the ecm will allow. IE so if the ecm says " ground wiretap for 600 ms" , then the edge goes "well lets ground the wiretap for an addition 600 ms on top of that" thus giving us 1200 ms of fueling.
  4. yep, I see a LARGE drop in MPG the closer I get to 5 psi and above. 55 mph I easily see 23 + mpg 0-2 psi, 65 that drops to 18-20 mpg 4-5 psi, 75 drops it to 15 10+ psi. My EGTS are never below 650 cruising though.
  5. Yep just use a browser, I used to by like you and wanted a mobile app, but the web version works pretty dang good without any limitation of features.
  6. I am really trying to find someone to let me do a twin VGT setup hahaha If I only had a triple disc and billet input, and a spare truck that I could rip the axles out of. he351ve and a he551ve Buckle up spanky............
  7. Each truck is different and each driver is different. The first number should only alter total power, the second will choose how much fuel under the curve to add. I would suggest you spend sometime driving in each mode and choose what you like. I am guessing you will like 5x3 or similar. injectors have a similar effect to running a higher sublevel, in terms of smoke output. I used to run around with my quad turned up, now days I have a much different tune that keeps the low end fueling down in order to keep the smoke down and prevent flooding the turbo.
  8. 2wd is the collar slid to the front of the truck 4wd is collar slid back. I forgot I tore it down last night so no picture until I get it back together. Here is another picture though The spacing between the brass teeth and 4wd chain section doesn't seem to be enough. The collar seems to come to rest on the 4wd section, or close enough that it grinds. https://mopar1973man.com/external-media/pdf/2000Ramparts.pdf#view=FitB&page=555 I need to take the main shaft apart and see if something between the cogs/ gears is beat up. Edit: This may be my issue. I didn't place the outer gear so the teeth where pushing down on the brass looking pad circled.
  9. oh boy oh boy.] I use the rams mount x grip. It is just to the top right of my steering where bumping on the dash. I'll get a picture tonight.
  10. Pull it out of the carrier. As far as I can tell there is no way anything outside the t case could do what I need. Thought about the collar but that is kinda like using a noise filter to solve lockup issues. I will take a picture.
  11. Ram mount %100. I use one and it is great. Think I use the x grip
  12. Understand that. What are your issues?
  13. It's the spring that holds the shift position. Tyler the collar can't move back far enough to fully disengage 4wd. If I move the main shaft forward by 1/16 it does. I need to figure out of there is a shim or something. Nothing is worn that I can see.
  14. I have the GM upgrade, but I would honestly just go Borgwarner there wasn't a big difference.
  15. Well it appears that my issue was due to a spring that was caught in the roaster comb in the transfercase. I found the noise I was having. It appears that the 2wd --> 4wd collar is not backing off the main shaft fully. There is a VERY slight overlap of the collar. I have no idea what is causing it..... If I was to shim the main shaft slight the issue would be resolved, but there was no shim to start, so why should I need one now.
  16. There is a metal plate on the gear cover area right by the vp44. Most nv5600 trucks were ho but some of the early ones were SO.
  17. look at the tag on your motor, is it a 245 ho or a 235 so? I know some early 6 speed trucks were SO's still. regardless I would go with a SO pump
  18. yea I have no idea how the ford has stuff run, but I would assume at the VERY least that the output from the ECM would be similar between the two.
  19. I already can't stand the A pillar in the truck, I dont need to add more to it haha. I like my little window mount that sits right in one of my holes in the dash.
  20. Leave a little oil on them.
  21. because user are not always able to see into the download section, downloads are only open to those who donate to pay for the bandwidth. It would be much better to take that info out of the FSM and move it to an article.
