Will summer ever come???
Wow, it has been cold in your neck of the woods? We did not have a decent summer for 2 years, it got warm, then a little cool, supposed to warm up again next week. But come on, a rough mountain man like you should be able to handle a little bit of cold weather.

Long Day
After a year the warranty is up. Looks like you made it. JL, did you ever consider you might have a problem out side the VP that is causing you problem, and even VP failures? Like ECM or wiring? You put in 1/2 a dozen, and you always have the same symptom? Or do you really have a dark cloud that follows you around?

Long Day
They stand behind them, as long as the wire is not cut or nicked, the diaphragm is not ruptured, and there is no sign of water or rust in the VP.

Jeep CRD stalls when put in drive.
Thanks, I already tore it part of the way down. At this point I need to remove the crossmember and take a couple of bolts out of the upper bell housing.

Unemployment...
I would love to tell you about it, but that would be getting too political.:nono:But since I cant resist, we have the guy running the US into the ground, he was elected to save us from the recession. He wasted more then a year forcing health care on us, so that welfare recipients would not have to worry, and so he could control our lives, and build up his communist empire. He was also worried about his ego being bruised, so he used Chicago Mafia style tactics to get the members of congress who were against his plan to vote for it. They will be out of a job at the next elections, and he could care less. He could care less about America as well, I say he is an Al Quieda operative.End of Rant.

Jeep CRD stalls when put in drive.
The crunch is the sound of things binding and stalling a diesel engine. I am sure it would not be as noticeable with a gasser. I agree, the TQ is not drained, because it goes into reverse fine, but some times I need to wait, it is a bug with these Jeeps. Actually the TQ used in these Jeeps are known to be very week. Chrysler now has a Euro model that is very stout. Here is another good explanation, MrMopar has been very helpful with us CRD owners. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=595120#p595120 ---------- Post added 06-06-2010 at 09:37 AM ---------- Previous post was 06-05-2010 at 07:50 PM ---------- Well, thats it, I am getting the Euro TQ, and going for the GDE TCM flash while the Jeep is in my shop getting the transplant. It is a busy time of the year for me to do this, but I should be able to squeeze in a few hours at a time to do it.

Jeep CRD Mods
The Jeep Liberty CRD was only a 2 year production vehicle in the USA, In Europe they have these engines in the mini van, the 300M, the Nitro, etc. but us USA CRD owners have an Ally, all kinds of mods, I have 2 CRDs, and they both have the hot tune. If any one is in the market for a fun 4wd vehicle that burns oil, and is NOT an SUV, check out what GDE can do for you. http://www.greendieselengineering.com/goPage.do?method=home

Cummins ISB
That is what I was thinking, it is probably from a brochure for a commercial truck, cause mine was rated 225 HP and 605 torque back in 2000, and I could have gone higher. What was the stock Dodge Cummins pushing back in that era? I have seen that brochure at the Freightliner dealer, and the Cummins dealer.

Repairing a gauge...
At 52 miles there is always a place to buy online and have it shipped, or put it on the list for your monthly shopping trip. It must be very quiet where you live?

Jeep CRD stalls when put in drive.
I posted it here as well, MrMopar who is a mechanic for Mopar dealer, seems to think converter as well? http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=53321&p=595080#p595080

Jeep CRD stalls when put in drive.
OK, I know I have a tranny problem, when I first back out of the garage in reverse, then I shift to drive and get a crunch, then the engine stalls due to a total lock up. Is this the torque converter or something in the tranny? I have no unusual noises so far. It has only done this on 2 occasions in about 2 weeks. I have the 5RF or what ever 5 speed auto, same tranny that is used with a Hemi.

Repairing a gauge...
Yeah dont leave home without your Never Seize, or your Loctite. I actually use never seize on motor shafts when I put on a fan blade, or a blower wheel. I will probably be back there in couple of years changing it again, so smarter not harder. Any ways, loctite is great for any thing that vibrates loose.

What is the HP rating? What is the year?

Did you put any loctite on the screws?

Kinda neat
I like the bolts chart as well. I might get more use out of that then the electricity one, since I can usually remember that formula in a pinch.

front pads
x2, that was my first thought when he said the piston side wore faster. I had the same problem on the rear brakes of my Freightliner. I float shift for up shifts and down shifts, and I am not big on hitting the brakes, so the lack of use causes me problems. Any ways, I put never seize on the sliders, so far so good.

Kinda neat
Thanks ISX, after the download, I went to my download folder and found 5 downloads of the file in there. I guess the file is so small, the download dialog box, never showed. They all work fine in Open Office as well. This will be handy for our use. Thanks

Kinda neat
I could not open it, I use open office, do you have a more compatible format? I would love to have it, I know a couple of formulas like ohms law and power=IxE.

AirDog 150 is Installed!
I bought some Baldwin's a couple of months ago that fit inside of the OE canister? Even my air filter is a Baldwin? I got them at Fleetpride.

AirDog 150 is Installed!
I am going to be putting a beefier filter on my fuel line between the tank and the lift pump. I am getting this from Vulcan. He is tapping the outlet for 1/8", so I can install a compound gauge, it will be under the truck, but I can mark the pressure when it is new, and I will know when it is plugging up. I ordered it with the 20 micron filters with the drain at the bottom. I will post my entire fuel system when I complete the install. Right now I just have the 1/2" inline filter, and I think it is plugging up. All the money spent, I should have just went with the Air Dog

How to cool a vp44
I kind of doubt the LP switch would allow the compressor to operate at those ambients?
-
How to cool a vp44
How about putting a heat exchanger on the AC suction line to cool the fuel entering the VP?

It keeps trying to redirect to Linkedin, but here you go, web page printed to PDF. Kind of funny he just said we should drill in the Atlantic about a month ago? Is it a coincidence, or is BP filling his pockets? Obama_biggest_recipient_of_BP_cash_-_Erika_Lovley_-_POLITICO.pdf
