  1. This pretty much says it all, a bunch of hypocrites in the pockets of BP. They will get a light slap on the hand, and your government will pound its chest, and say, "We punished them." http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/36783.html
  2. I posted a link to a Duracrap owner on the Tractor forum, that said Dodges are unreliable and fall apart. He has never responded to the link, but he swears a V8 Diesel is just as good and long lasting as an Inline.
  3. I drilled mine right into the center, no problems.
  4. I am sure the oil company is not happy about this, and I doubt they want it to ever happen again. America was founded on risks and mistakes. I agree this is a big mess and a problem. Of course now the politicians are gonna jump all over this, and we are going to pay for the reform. All DC is doing is pointing fingers instead of helping get this stopped. Sort of like the flood in Louisiana. They were more worried about blame, then the were about the victims.
  5. They might be able to save a little fuel, but physics dictates it takes a certain amount of energy to move a load. The energy is the fuel being burned.
  6. I think he is smoking a crack pipe to think that OTR vehicles can double their mileage. The only thing that can move a heavy load is energy. Whats next, fly a 747 or an air bus on half the fuel? That is why I hate politicians, they have no clue about the laws they try to enact. http://www.fyurl.com/redirect.php?fyid=&url=http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=ArAIrSDIo8cMajqEXJG3LdVG2vAI;_ylu=X3oDMTFnMXBta2M5BGlpZAMxNDMxMjg4MzczODAxODU3Njg1NwRub2gDMwRwb3MDMQRyaWQDMTEyODkzMw--/SIG=140s5d9l6/**http%3A//us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/rss/topstories/*http%3A//news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100521/ap_on_re_us/us_obama_fuel_efficiency
  7. Pulling a steep hill pedal to the metal, I see 1050. 500 to 800 normal cruising and banging between gears on up shifts.
  8. JL, I think you got some bad electronics, out side of the VP44 that is frying them, I dont know what, but no one can get that many duds? Or maybe you can?
  9. Cute kid. My days of that are over, I have four children all but one an adult, I also have 2 grandsons, 6 & 7. They had a blast going for rides on the John Deere this past weekend. You will have alot of fun raising your new child, good relationship with the wife and visa versa is key.
  10. Nice job, there Mopar Man.
  11. Being I do technical work, I found glasses just could not allow focus in every direction. Plus if you go out in the winter, or walk into a freezer of cooler in the summer, your glasses fog up. I got multi focal contact lenses. I can turn my eye any way I want, and the vision stays the same. The only problem is they cut down on your distance vision a little bit. But the convenience is worth that loss of distance. M73M, I thought you already wore glasses? Going to bifocals should be no problem for you.
  12. So your self sufficient on electricity, just how much do you get out of that set-up? Are you off the grid?
  13. I am sure Mike will put you on track. Help is his middle name
  14. Good luck, with the new forum, sucks you have to start over. I will be there as soon as you get it going, I still visit the dark forum, cause I made friends with alot of these people, but I don't communicate with the enemy
  15. Big Blue, on 2 jobs, I guess you could say it is working, holding tools and parts at my disposal. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1003&d=1273919570 http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1002&d=1273919547
  16. That is how I used to know of a lift pump failure in my early days as an ISB owner. I could not prime the fuel system after a fuel filter change, or the truck would hesitate on acceleration. I had no gauge or no clue. I put in a gauge after my 1st VP44 failure, and a Fass after my second failure when I found this web site. Thanks M73M and to all its members.
  17. You notice it is in a loop? I made a goose neck out of 3/8 copper, so it can stay in the tractor tank properly, and I just stuff the goose neck it into the intake hose for storage to keep it clean and prevent fuel spillage. I only used 3/8 hose, but it is plenty big when the pump has no back pressure on it. It works out perfect, since my truck has a saddle tank, not problems fishing it down a filler neck. I actually still have a spare lift pump still bolted to the side of the ISB, so I am probably set for life
  18. Well, I bit the bullet and made the big $5.00 investment in clip ons and wire, hoping this pump would work Any ways it worked alot better then I thought, it moved 5 gallons of fuel in a couple of minutes. There was no idle time during the transfer, just had to watch it close, because if I walked away it would have over flowed very easily. So yes, there is finally a use to the OE ISB Lift pump
  19. Changed mine today, fuel pressure was showing 14 to 15 PSI. Sounded good enough of a reason for me to do it.
  20. I put some hoses on it, and I was going to use it to transfer fuel from the truck to the tractor, it is probably going to be slow, but it will be easier then lifting a 6 gallon can 4 1/2' up into the air, and slopping it all over the hood of the tractor. I just have to get some battery alligator jumpers. What do you think, good idea, or should I just buy a pump for the intended use?
  21. I found with windows, you should not check the box to allow it to install .exe files. That box is annoying but it is a good measure of security that you are making the decision to allow any installation any time. That is why Linux is so much secure, everything requires permissions. My son told me that Vista and 7 are moving in this direction as well.
  22. That would be kind of scary, windoze with it viruses, trojans, spies, etc. Being the foundation for Linux? No thank you, I will go the other way around.
  23. Actually I have the big plastic screw lid. What kind of filter does the cast model take? Spin on?
  24. I use FREE Linux Mint, and I installed FREE Sun VirtualBox, I can install windoze inside of Vbox for those moments that its got to be windoze Or I can install wine and run windoze apps right off the Linux Gnome desktop with out a VM. So no one is totally stuck with windoze. Hopefully cloud computing soon will seal the whole deal?
