  1. Yes this is very true. Since my CTD is no longer my DD I make sure I run the a/c every time I drive it. --- Update to the previous post... Most of our trucks run the a/c with the defrost as well, and you can tell by listening if the a/c clutch engages. This helps dry the air for better defrosting, and keeps the seals sealing.
  2. Are you going out for big game this year?
  3. Yeah its just part of a conspiracy to see what your doing on your truck on any given day... and we know about the sheep :nono:j/k, yeah its probably instrument training.
  4. The 1-135 ARB is part of the Missouri National Guard and they are located on the Whitman AFB. Looking at that map it appears they are doing traffic patterns at the Sedalia Memorial Airfield, probably IFR (Instrument Flight Rules). If I remember correctly they are one of the last AH-64A Battalions (like us) in the military. All the A models are being turned into D models (Longbows). --- Update to the previous post... Looks to me like they could be in the procedure turn for NDB 18. http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/1011/05584N18.PDF
  5. Yep, that statement is 100% accurate, which is why it kills me to see 1/2 ton's and mini's towing these light TT's.. It doesn't matter what the barn door weighs, its the fact that your towing a barn door that is hard on the truck. I have noticed my truck makes less boost at 55 towing a 15K dump trailer than my 5K TT. I also have a friend that had a 35' 5er and towed his enclosed motorcycle trailer behind the 5er, he got the same mileage with that as he does with his 19' bumper pull TT.
  6. Its hard on equipment to sit. I would drive it on days when the weather is nice, at least once a month. This will get the oil hot, dry the exhaust, lube the seals, etc.
  7. Couple days late, but happy birthday.
  8. Yes Sir, those would be Apaches. How close are you to the airfield? And which airfield is it? You are probably on a training or approach/departure route. I would guess with the circling your just outside tower's airspace and they circle when they can't contact tower.
  9. Weird, mine kick on when its below 66* out.
  10. Here is my .02 on a Common rail. I have been involved in the dyno runs up thru 450 rwhp where there was no difference in power on a aftermarket intake and a stock one. That was the reason I modified mine in the following fashion. Home Depot CAI: $20ish http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/1986-Home-Deopt-CAI-on-a-3rd-Gen?highlight= Airaid MIT: $70ish http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/product.aspx?pf_id=AR-300-928 Glacier GDP: $250ish http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/product.aspx?pf_id=0307-PFI With those mods I have seen an increase in throttle response, quicker spool, cooler IAT's, 150-200 rpms quicker to 30 psi, and less restriction (as noted on the filter minder); which from what I have seen is more than you will get out of a CAI, and cheaper. As far as those mods vs a BHAF, I will take those mods too becuase the OE system does a good job of keeping the air cool, 10-15* above ambient on cruise and with my mods I am 6-12* above ambient while cruising. I guarantee those temps are cooler than a BHAF, which means more O2 and lower EGT's.
  11. Will do, be about 10-12 months to get it back.
  12. Rifle, 409 yards in the Frank Church Wilderness area. (The day I shot him was a 9.5 mile and 4100 vertical day)
  13. I put mine on the drivers side above the ECM, harder to access, but a shorter run to the cab.
  14. I agree with Mike, drop the blower motor and see what's going on. I had a piece of napkin from the glove box fall into the bird cage and make an awful racket.
  15. I said 12-14, assuming a dump trailer or small enclosed.. If your talking a TT, and driving 50-65 then 11-13, and over 65 or 70 then 9-11.
  16. Just got back from Elk Camp.. Got our first snow to stick the night of the 24th, morning of the 25th at 6K feet. On the day of the 24th we had a decent amount of snow above 7K feet.
  17. The Tundra should provide you years of trouble free service, and as long as you don't tow you'll be quite happy with it. I have been a Toyota guy most of my driving life, but went Dodge when I wanted a full size. Been reading that for a decade....
  18. I'm normally not one for bragging, or the likes.. but I want to make an exception this year.
  19. Yes interesting, and logical.I plug mine in got 90 minutes, it gets to 90% of the temp of sitting overnight for a fraction of the cost.
  20. I replaced mine. I didn't have a psi gauge until after the mod, but lower restriction is better in my book.
  21. The Army is the only branch that allows Warrant's to fly, the other branches only let commissioned officers fly, which is where the 4 year degree comes from. Better yet, only the Army has Apaches.
  22. The ones I have seen have the same style plug/connector. Its worth checking.
  23. That is true for all except the Army. To be a Warrant Officer and fly there is no requirement for a college degree. If you have a local guard unit with helicopters go talk with one of their recruiters if you want more info.
  24. You can attend flight school into your 30s without a waiver.. do it, best job ever!
